ots i know how you feel but you can only focus on doctor's advice- if no full pad, things should be okay. My friend just had her baby after spotting thoughout the pregnancy. And remember the scan.....

emily I'so sorry to hear the news. However, it sounds as if the sonographer didn't think it was a huge panic. They've obviously come across it quite a few times. If he suggests there are solutions, then that is so reassuring. Hope you get to see consultant soon but we are here to listen and support. Sending you big hugs.

I'm having my 2-3 o'clock wake up time! Lucky it's Sunday tomorrow!

CatFaceCrayola · 25/05/2014 04:07

Very awake. Something (my guess is the antibiotics) made me super sick...just what I need, NOT!

Lying awake with a belly ache and still itchy :/

nickyjlees · 25/05/2014 07:40

emily sorry you are having such a stressful time. I know it will seem like a long wait now until you see the consultant, but like the others have said try not to worry or second guess anything. I know it's easy for us to say that but I find myself second guessing all the time but only ever about the negatives not the potential positives.
Sending lots of love to you, your family and your lovely little baby x

nickyjlees · 25/05/2014 07:45

ots I had exact same thing! bleeding and cramps! went to epu and all fine, no obvious cause. Have had tiny bit of spotting since but nothing at all major and like others gave said I've read that it's quite common for women to have spotting throughout their pregnancy. Try not to worry too much, I've found it very hard not to worry about every tiny thing but it's miserable to be worried and stressed 24 hours a day. I'm trying to focus on the positives rather than trying to find every possible thing that could be not quite right, it's a challenge but think I'm getting better at it!

ImBrian · 25/05/2014 07:48

Emily sorry your scan didn't go to plan, I've got everything crossed to closes up by itself for you. Hopefully you'll get your consultants scan quickly so you can get more info x

Does anyone know if I can have lemsip/ flu stuff? I'm full of cold and got a sore throat. I had Quincy last year and a stay in hospital and sore throats freak me out a bit incase I'm getting tonsillitis (Quincy is a complication).

Shanels · 25/05/2014 08:03

imbrian just paracetomol is what I know. No lemsip etc due to the other ingredients. Gargle some salty water at the back of your throat to try relieve infection etc. However, go to gp or walk in centre if antibiotics are needed. Get well soon and rest loads.

catfacecrayola get well soon too. Once the antibiotics and steroids kick in you'll improve hopefully.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/05/2014 08:13

Sorry I was so self-indulgent and whiney yesterday when people are in much worse positions than I am!
Feeling a bit more positive today... We were out in town for around six hours yesterday and I think I was exhausted. Today we're not leaving the flat, so lots of rest!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/05/2014 08:15

Imbrian have some fruit tea or honey and lemon juice in hot water instead of Lemsip, and I think a couple of paracetamol are fine to take, though ibuprofen isn't? But someone else will know more than me re that. Boiled sweets are good for sore throats too. Hope you feel better soon.

ffallada · 25/05/2014 10:36

Oh dear imbrian I read Quincy and immediately jumped to Quincy MD - you know, the TV pathologist/dectective who solved crimes in flares in the seventies with an oriental sidekick nemed Sam. Spent a few mins trying to work out how old US tv was affecting your throat. Very sad to say my brain is mush and am heading back to bed for a lie down.
(And I'm going to google Quincy so I don't make this mistake again)

CallingAllEngels · 25/05/2014 10:53

Must be really scary to hear such news emily . One of my friends had similar news at 20w anomoly scan - except hole in diaphragm, so intestines up into chest cavity. Little dd was operated on a few days after birth and home in less than a month - now a thriving 3 month old! ((hugs))

brian I would do as peace suggests, paracetamol and hot water with honey, lemon and ginger.

ffallada Grin That would be my first thought too!

ots sounds really stressful. Try not to worry. Flowers

cat sounds like you're having a rough time of it - hang on in there.

Lots of people having a hard time at the moment. Fx everyone feels better and gets good news soon.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/05/2014 12:06

Oh dear, my grandmother told me a horror story of when she had quinsy and she swallowed the abscess ConfusedConfusedConfused sorry if that's put you all off your lunch!

SassehMonsta · 25/05/2014 13:04

rather poorly today and yesterday. Went out with thedog and probably shouldn't have. :(

Peace I had the joy of having it lanced then a few days on iv antibiotics. It's the 2nd time I've had it and they reckon I must get pretty bad tonsilitis but I've never noticed which is why it's gets so bad. I'm now slightly obsessive over my throat!

Anyone with more then one felt movements early on? I'm only 13+4 but keep getting a stirring feeling. Haven't felt anything this early with the others. I think 15 weeks is the earliest I've felt movement!

mopsytop · 25/05/2014 13:41

I have ImBrian since about ten weeks (11+4 now). I keep wondering if it really can be the baby though. I was 19 or 20 weeks before feeling anything last time if I recall. But it really.does feel like the baby moving. Or maybe it is gas but it doesn't feel like that at all...

porsmork · 25/05/2014 15:03

Hi Emily,

I'm sure you'll be totally fine, as the sonographer said, plenty of time for that to heal over. I watched a One Born Every Minute (first series) where that happened to a little one and he pulled through marvellously. Perhaps not best to watch for worrying, but sounds common and you won't be alone!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing bank holiday, just about recovering from my cold, enough for a trip to IKEA to get bathroom furniture. Is it too early to be nesting??!

ImBrian · 25/05/2014 17:06

Mopsy mine measured 7cm at 13 weeks so you would think you could feel it wiggling about a bit wouldn't you.

I just found a photo of my bump at 20 weeks with number 4. I never have huge bumps but this ones the same size at only 13 weeks!!!

Ladylel · 25/05/2014 18:05

I'm 12+5 and I can't put my finger on the sensations I keep feeling. Whether it's wind or moving, you expect to feel something especially with 2 wiggling at 5 cm just shy of 6) each.

StetsonsAreCool · 25/05/2014 19:29

Haven't been around for a couple of weeks, I'm really struggling with finding the energy for anything.

Got my scan date today, 9th June, I'll be 12+1 so good timing! Turns out it was sent to my old address though, we only found it by chance as DH pops round every now as then to check the post (post boxes in communal area) so he found it. My booking appt is on the same day as one of my exams though so I'll have to rearrange that.

Have manage. My first meal today in about 4 weeks that hasn't included chips! For about 2 weeks the only things I could swallow were chips and satsumas, so it's nice to branch out a bit.

Sorry to hear treacle and Natasha's news, and very excited about so many twins!

Am 10+0 today, hoping I'm about to turn a corner on the energy and nausea.

PolytheneGirl · 25/05/2014 19:58

BigHairyLeggedSpider are you out there? I hope you're feeling better! How horrible fainting in New Street Station. People really are pigs!

Just wondered how you are finding the Women's Hospital? I'm currently supposed to be under City but I'm having real trouble and am considering a move. I can't even get a scan appointment at city and I've been calling them everyday and they just keep fobbing me off. I'm supposed to be under consultant care and they are refusing to see me even though my GP wrote an urgent referral. I'm getting really stressed by the whole situation.

PunkyPod · 25/05/2014 20:58

Hope you're doing alright Emily? I hope your follow up appointment comes through quickly for you. You just need all the facts don't you...

ImBrian I've been feeling little prods since 11 weeks (now 13wks). I felt dd at 15 weeks and these are the same sensations. Love them. Just when it gets to 34+ weeks and space is running out that i find it really uncomfortable. She'd just stick her elbow out and leave it there! I'd have to get DH to push it back in! Shock

How's Paranoid getting on?

Me and DH have got into Breaking Bad. Oohhhhhh loving it!!

Shanels · 25/05/2014 21:25

punky I want to watch Breaking Bad but worried it's too disturbing.... For a sensitive preggers. Is it?

PunkyPod · 25/05/2014 21:55

I am so sooooooo the opposite of anything in this programme. As in so against drugs I'd have thought this sort of thing would repulse me. Trust me, it's amazing! Wink

miraculous2 · 25/05/2014 22:03

Emily, another hand to hold. Remember there are high chances of positive outcomes too. We're earning our stripes through these scary stages.

So, who else is having twins?

My SIL had fraternal twins (can't remember who asked, sorry) but mine are ID and I'm told that isn't passed down. My parents are pretty stunned - never thought they'd have two sets of twins in the fold!

Had a big day out today doing some really pleasant work - it's the most physical I've been in weeks so I'm hoping for a much better sleep. And no major aches tomorrow, please! I'm also planning to start pg yoga and Pilates this week - I've got a chunk of really demanding work and travel coming up so I need to get my stamina back up. Better start doing those pelvic floor exercises too...

Where can I buy some discipline and motivation, please?

Wishing you all a vom-free Monday Wink

littlepickly · 25/05/2014 22:08

Yes I definitely think I've been feeling some wriggles. I'm 12+6 and had a few days of fluttering last week - it really felt like the beginnings of it but has gone away a bit now so not so sure Hmm

Emily - hope you're doing ok, it must have been quite a lot to take in but hope you can get your appt soon and put your mind at ease

Definitely into breaking bad - have watched the whole lot and could do it all again Smile Is it wrong I'm thinking of Jesse as a nice boys name?!?!

ImBrian · 25/05/2014 22:17

Breaking bad is brilliant, there's a bit of violence but it's not bad. Definitely worth a watch.
