Bed time Barfsville :/

On a cheerier note...does anyone else currently have epic finger nails?

Mine have gotten so long and seem unbreakable. I'm tempted to not trim them until one actually breaks. Although they are getting a bit talon like and causing me a few problems with general life things!

miraculous2 · 25/05/2014 22:46

My only regret about Breaking Bad is that I've watched it all and now I'm bereft Grin

PunkyPod · 25/05/2014 23:44

We're coming to the end of S2, getting through about 2-3 episodes an evening. I feel like I like and care about every single character. Yet what they are doing is so awful! Script is fantastic, moments of humour, great relationships. It's just brilliant and I don't question any of it's craziness. Defo recommend to anyone looking to get into a series.

So my dd (23months) thought our scan photo was a fish. She now knows it's a baby. This morning i asked her if she remembers that mummy is growing a baby. She said yeh and patted her tummy. I then asked her where she thinks the baby is and she patted her own tummy. Bless her!

Hi miraculous, congrats on the twins. I heard about an app on another thread you might be interested in to help with the pelvic floor motivation - it's called 'squeezy' ! It was developed by some nhs nurses to help women who leak!
I am using it on my Iphone, dunno if it's available on android.

Just had to sit with my best friend as she went through the admission to hospital malarky for HG. Shes 14 weeks & we had thought she was over the worst of it, but no. Admitted with 4+ ketones for rehydration. Glad I was able to go with her as her husband was 2 hours away playing a gig with his band! Stayed with her until dh turned up to look after her. Was nice to be able to reassure her and let her know what would happen, as I was so confused when I was in her situation, despite having my dad with me. Hope she gets the help she needs (cyclazine was doing ok but became less effective).

At one point in the Drs we both had a sick bowl and were feeling rather green-gilled together. Smile Wore myself out this morning, rested all afternoon,Drs/AnE this evening, now home to sleeeeeeep.

(sorry for generic crossposting, hope Everyone is doing as OK as possible!)

Looking after my niece today so need to be alert and not half asleep Smile

LittleSarah · 26/05/2014 08:09

Morning all, not been on in a while. Feeling sick and tired and rubbish in general! Really struggling to find physical energy and the mental motivation for work also...

On the plus side got scan date through so will hopefully will be reassured and happy come the 5th June!

Emily - Sorry to hear about your results! I hope you see the consultant soon and very much hoping all turns out well, which I'm sure it will!

Congrats on the twins those who are having them, very exciting!

Sasseh - Glad your best friend had you there, sounds a really stressful experience.

Well, hope everyone has a calm and happy Monday!

Getting worried :(

Chest rash has calmed, arms still spotty. But I've woken up this morning and my face is all swollen and puffy.

Is this getting better (doesn't feel like it) or could I now be reacting to the antibiotics or steroid tablets??

So scared that I'm harming the little one :(

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 26/05/2014 10:09

Go back to A&E Catface.

Shanels · 26/05/2014 11:04

catface you don't harm the baby with antibiotics and the steroids are necessary- if you are not well, the baby won't be well so you need the medication. I really wouldn't worry about the side effects but I would go to A&E if your face is swollen. It might be something you are using everyday that might be causing the reaction, you just don't know.

Take care now

ffallada · 26/05/2014 11:30

(Hugs) catface - but I have to agree with the other ladies - no point worrying and living in discomfort. Where I am we have a really good out-of-hours gp service that runs alongside a&e units so that if you can't face a three hour sit surrounded by bleeding drunks you can try the GP. (Of course it's worth baring in mind that the GP will generally send you back to A&E if they can't help, which in my experience is most often!)
Is it worth giving your local early pregnancy unit a call if your worried about the medication that you already have?

My bil was recently prescribed some post hernia surgery antibiotics that made him turn purple all over - I kid you not - the man went purple! Everywhere! He was a living Ribena man. It's not that relevant but it made us laugh for weeks.

CatFaceCrayola · 26/05/2014 11:53

Dh finishes work at half 12, after collecting him I'll try giving NHS direct (or whatever it's now called)a call. See what they say.

SassehMonsta · 26/05/2014 11:57

cat can pretty much guarantee that if face/neck is swollen/puffy they will say direct to a&e. Good luck! Out of hours gp trends to be a good plan.

Rejjie · 26/05/2014 12:05

Hi guys,

I've been quite upset and worried this morning. Had a small amount of brownish discharge (like the end of your period) when I wiped this morning. I've not had anything like this so far so it is freaking me out a bit. I also have a uti at the moment (just finished the antibiotics) so know it could be connected to that. I've been having a slight flittering feeling (really hard to describe it) for about a week now. The trouble is that I'm not sure if that feeling is connected to the uti, my uterus expanding or something more sinister. I'm 10+3 today. I know that I am probably worrying over nothing and people are going through much worse but are other people feeling like things are moving about and expanding down there? Any advice would be welcome as this is my first and I just don't know what feels 'normal'.

Thanks.

Rejjie · 26/05/2014 12:09

Also forget to mention that I was gardening from early till late yesterday with a bit of heavy exertion and lots of time squatting. So maybe it's just me pushing myself too hard.

oohdaddypig · 26/05/2014 12:16

Catface - I took antibiotics in both my previous pregnanies (sinus/UTI). If you are worried why not speak a pharmacist but I would really try not to worry. Is it a steriod cream or an oral steroid? Asthmatics routinely take steriods throughout their pregnancies and they seem quite sure it's safe. (I take a nose spray that is a steriod). I know it feels awful taking medication but they only give it if you really need it and they are pretty sure what is safe and what isn't.

Rejjie Sorry you are worried. The slight fluttering feeling is exactly what I get too. I feel like you do and have done for a few weeks. Why not phone EPU about the discharge to put your mind at rest? Hope the UTI feels a bit better.

sasseh you have really suffered with the sickness. Makes me feel bad for even complaining about mine.....

emily hope you get to speak to the consultant soon.

I retch so much that my younger child now calls it "mummy is sore again" and makes little roaring noises with her throat to copy me. It's particularly nice when it happens in the street.

My scan is on Friday. No point worrying all week about it I know. but really, I wish I didn't dread them so much.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 26/05/2014 15:33

Catface I know I'm a bit late now but I wouldn't be driving with a swollen face/throat, you need to go to hospital as it could cause breathing difficulties. I hope you're being sorted out as we speak! Antibiotics and steroids won't do you any harm; maybe you need different ABs as swelling sounds like another allergic reaction. Take care!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 26/05/2014 16:20

Thank you for everyone's kind words and thoughts. I spent all of yesterday in the biggest floods of tears I've ever had in my life. But I think I needed that and am feeling a bit more stable today. I think it was me grieving the 100% healthy bouncing baby that I'm unlikely to have but I am telling myself that I need to stay positive. A lot of women on this thread have had terrible times and lost their little beans so I need to be grateful that we have got this far. Will keep you updated x

Somersetgirl1990 · 26/05/2014 17:47

Hope things get easier for you Emily Thanks did they say what the chances of it closing up by itself were?

Is anybody else really worried about their test results coming back? I haven't really thought about it until now but am getting a bit worked up Sad

ots · 26/05/2014 17:47

Had quite a lot more bleeding today. Its turned a reddish colour and seems much thicker than before. Its still only really when I wipe and haven't had any pains. So stressed out. I dont really know what to do. When I went to the EPU before, she said I dont need to call in again unless its enough to soak through a pad, which it is far from at the moment. So is it just a case of watch and wait? I don't know if they would do anything the way things are at the moment. Feel so lost and uncertain :( :(

nickyjlees · 26/05/2014 19:29

ots I wouldn't hesitate to call the unit / your midwife if you are very worried.

somerset I'm right there with you in being more worried about test results now. Since we had our NT scan on Friday and had a "high end of normal" result I've been obsessing about the blood test results. I will be watching my phone like crazy over the next few days hoping that it doesn't ring and that we just get a letter to say all is ok.

Somersetgirl1990 · 26/05/2014 19:37

I already know that I'm rhesus negative but will they call for something like that? Or do they only call with regards to the nt testing?

ImBrian · 26/05/2014 19:59

My nt results will come via phone call in the next couple of days if I'm high risk if not then a letter in another week or two. I feel quite nervous waiting for them though the measurement was normal at 2.2. Fingers crossed we all get good results.

Ots ring the epu and tell them you want a scan. At least then you can hopefully be reassured that everything's ok. Have you had one since the bleeding started? ( I'm crap at remembering this threads so busy).

ots · 26/05/2014 20:51

Thanks for replies. I had one at 7 weeks after a tiny bit of brown spotting. Everything was ok and she said I may bleed some more. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Haven't had one since it started up heavier.
I think someone on here, much earlier on in the thread had similar, but the EPU wouldnt scan them again as they already new postion of baby. I think I'll ring up first thing tomorrow and see if they will agree to scan me. If the worst is happening I just need to know, I hate this limbo :( . Luckily DH is off work til thursday :)
