I had cramps like period cramps most of the time for weeks 4-6 which was frustrating and still occasionally get them, but if you are saying its really painful hopefully they'll phone you back quickly.

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/05/2014 12:42

Aw punky how cute!! Glad it went well for you! Tomorrow feels like forever away, so glad the scan is first thing in the morning, although I'm a little worried about having to drink so much before.
Did everyone that's already had scans actually drink a litre of water and then hold it whilst someone was pressing down on your bladder?? I found it very uncomfortable at my reassurance scan and that was with about half that amount of water!!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 22/05/2014 12:47

6 people with scans today as per our stats list. Good luck ladies!

porsmork · 22/05/2014 12:47

I'm planning on doing NCT classes. I don't know any one in our area so looking to make lots of friends, even if that does mean paying. Same for my fiancé too, I'm sure he'll like meeting some other local dads.

tillymonster · 22/05/2014 12:51

Hello Smile

I'm new here, first DC due 9th dec. I'm feeling quite fed up with the constant ms, inability to do anything and feeling I need to sleep all the time. From reading the posts, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one! :) Took a holiday day today (yay) so at least I can sleep!

Still the magical 12 weeks where all symptoms suddenly stop (hmm right) is not that long away... a little bit worried that my dm said she was sick at least twice a day for the whole 9 months with her first...

PunkyPod · 22/05/2014 13:58

Somerset, my letter specifically said you do NOT need a full bladder at 12 week scan. I remember with DD I did go in busting for a wee at 12 weeks. She was in an awkward position so the sonographer used the probe to jab my uterus very quickly repeatedly for about 10 seconds to get her to flip over. Oh lord i swear a little pee came out!

So if your letter says have a full bladder I'd personally probably go half full. Advice must vary between hospitals.

Ladylel · 22/05/2014 14:09

Well I've just had my scan. Dated 12 weeks and 2days.
Also shocker.

TWINS!!!

Just letting that sink in right now. gulp

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/05/2014 14:13

Ladylel omg! Congratulations Grin you're gonna have your hands full Wink

My bladder is really sensitive anyway and starts to really hurt if it's full so may just go with being half full!

PunkyPod · 22/05/2014 14:14

Ladylel!!!!!!!!! Twins!!!!!! There are a few twin mums in this group. Doubly amazing!

Ladylel · 22/05/2014 14:25

Thanks guys. Can't quite believe it. Sonographer was very relaxed and cool and went 'and there's twins'... Shock

I had to have a full bladder or at least have a pint of water an hour before! Bad enough needing a wee normally not when I need to hold it in as well!

SassehMonsta · 22/05/2014 14:33

Doh! Just realised that my scan isn't the 2nd June but actually the 10th June - the 2nd is my blood test. Boo! At least I don't have to worry about travelling back from a weekend away the day before and being nervous...

oohdaddypig · 22/05/2014 14:33

Oh ladylel wow! Double congratulations! Have you been very sick? I'm always intrigued - could you see yourself straightaway there were two or is it not that obvious?!

SassehMonsta · 22/05/2014 14:35

And eeek Ladylel - twins!! :D Congrats! I've felt awful today so far, and had planned to go for a walk with some local dog walkers. Didn't make it, suffice to say, but I blame the thunder and lightning and rain ;)

PolytheneGirl · 22/05/2014 14:40

Wow Ladylel congratulations! I always loved the idea of twins. Good luck Thanks

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 22/05/2014 14:56

punky what a lovely scan pic,
lady blimey, twins
Congrats to both of you!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 22/05/2014 15:21

Just popping in to update you all, I'll catch up properly later.

Scan went really well thankfully, which is such a weight off my mind! Baby was waving and wriggingly and sucking it's thumb. So relieved. Then they butchered my arm trying to take bloods and I didn't even care I was so happy lol!

The sonographer dated the baby at 13+1 instead of 12+1 which is what I thought I was based on my period dates. Due date is now 26th November instead of 3rd December. You wouldn't mind if I hung around on here instead of moving to the November thread? Grin

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/05/2014 15:36

Wow Lady! Twins! Bet that blew you away! Congrats to all the others that had scans today too. Sorry am on phone and cant scroll to name and brains gone...

Well I made it to New Street Station this morning feeling like shit, went into Boots to pick up some lunch, came out and my eyes went all blurry, and I went felt dizzy so leaned against the wall for a bit then went and told the chaps in the ticket checking booth things then promptly passed out. Woke up in a sea of feet people stepping over me whilst they came through the barriers as the Network Rail people were trying to help me. Sat in the ticket checky things whilst they got a first aider (people kept showing me their tickets whilst I was being sick into a bag and was crying and shaking like crazy). Was wheelchaired down the concourse like an idiot to a quiet room until paramedics arrived. They were lovely (and hot) and didn't even complain when their eye motion tests made me throw up. Looks like a drop in blood pressure and slight dehydration coupled with the Migraine really messed me up. Didnt want to go to hospital so came home and went to bed where I plan on staying for the rest of the day. Not going.to work tomorrow. The world wont end! Moral of the story, listen to Mumsnet and stay at home if you feel ill when pregnant. Sad

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/05/2014 15:39

No Porqoui, you stay right here! You are one of us now chants...One of us! One of us...

Plus SOMEONE has to be first to give birth!Wink

chillychicken · 22/05/2014 15:39

Glad scans are going well! Grin

Lady eek! Twins! Grin

So sorry to hear your news Natasha and of course, treacle Sad

11+1 today and now impatient. I'm paranoid I'm going to have my scan and find a MMC. I loved seeing the little heartbeat at 8 weeks and I'll be devastated if that's gone. Still, I need to think positive.

Scan isn't until 2nd June when I'll be 12+5. I did consider having a private scan next week but I think that might be a bit silly. DH will give me the Hmm look and I have this irrational fear of having too many scans too close together.

Symptoms are disappearing a bit - did anyone else find that around 11 weeks?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 22/05/2014 15:50

Ladylel glad scan went well and twins!! Omg congratulations!!! Do you have history of twins in your family or was it a complete shock? Now you know do you think there were any signs to say you were carrying double trouble!?

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/05/2014 15:50

Spider, hope you start to feel better soon! I felt really dizzy when I got out of bed this morning, hope my iron levels are ok! Guess I'll find out tomorrow!
Chilly my sickness has lessened massively unless I smell something really gross but I'm still feeling really tired all the time - but I'm quite a sleepy lazy person at the best of times

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 22/05/2014 15:51

Porquoi so glad scan went well :) you stay here with us!!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 22/05/2014 15:52

Get well soon Bighairy! X

espa · 22/05/2014 16:04

TWINS!! wow, congrats, how exciting! I keep winding DH up it could be twins, but can't imagine the surprise of actually seeing two! Such lovely news.

Jealous of those with scsns, mine still 3 weeks away!

LisaC2611 · 22/05/2014 16:39

Congrats Lady - I thought that I might be having twins as I seemed to be developing a bit of a bump quite early. Have now put that down to bloating after my reassurance scan. I would have been quite excited to see double trouble, but think my dh would have freaked out!

I've had a lovely surprise today, it looks like my little bean is going to have a cousin about the same time. My Dsis has told me that she's pg and she thinks that we are about the same due date, but she needs a dating scan as doesn't know when her lmp was, it may be that she's a couple of weeks behind me as we were usually around the same time. Means there will be 3 little ones under 2 in the family by Christmas Grin

Chilly my symptoms seem to be clearing up but do feel a bit nauseaous if I smell something disgusting cooking in the kitchen at work.

Punky what a lovely clear scan. Congratulations.

I'm so excited to have my scan but got just under 2 weeks to go. Here's hoping the pic is as clear as yours. The pic we got from our reassurance scan is just a bean.

10+4 today
