Welcome to the never-ending first trimester, and maybe some of us into the second trimester this thread?

Hi all!

I have been on an intensive field course all weekend! I have studied both outdoors and indoors from 9-9 for past three days, been out walking in the heat and aced my exam! Made it up all massive hills without dying and at the front of the group, and only puked behind trees twice. So proud of myself! I am hoping this means I have turned a corner rather than something has gone wrong. I am now veeerrrrrry tired. 12 weeks today.

Woah, my local PCT are on it... Got my 20 week scan date through. Not even had the 12 week scan done yet!!

Big that's so brilliant!! Well done you! Shows really determination and you get your reward by passing your exams.

What's I hope you can go home soon, here's a drink while you wait

My parents look after dd on Mondays and when I went to pick her up my mum said dd had said "dump" when she's done a poo. I said i was very surprised coz we def don't say that around her And I didn't want her saying it (she's 23 months). Got home and told DH. When getting her ready for bed she let out an almighty fart and exclaimed "TRUMP". Aaahhhhhhhh mystery solved! Have informed my mum we don't have to panic

Hello all. When are you telling? I am 12 weeks this weekend and had a private scan last weekend (they don't test for nuchal etc here so was glad to have gone private)

I'm getting excited now and have even bought babygro's. cute frog ones from next. That's it though. No more shopping. Was so happy to see little baby scratching their head, made it so real :) above him or her so much already!

Just back from 8w scan which was great. Nice strong heartbeat and measured at exactly 8w so 29th December!

Treacle - so sorry, hope you are getting lots of support irl & bearing up ok.

Exciting stuff for those of you having your 12 week scans this week! Mine's not til a week on thursday when I'll be 12+6, am getting pretty desperate to know for sure that all is ok. I'm finally past the point where I had mc last time & that feels like a huge weight off my shoulders, am still feeling tired & nauseous & my tummy looks huge by the evening so hoping these are all positive signs!

littlegreen I've told close family & friends already but will be telling everyone else including work after my scan. Can't wait to tell them at work - gone right off cups of tea & been having to try & force them down so no-one suspects...will be glad not to have to do that anymore!

Felt full of beans this afternoon, like the old non pregnant and energetic me. Must've overdone it though as now I feel like crap. Dizzy, nauseous and everything hurts :(

currently sat at victoria coach ststion waiting on my bus home across the border. we get in at 7am then its a 40 minute bus trip down to ayrshire. i may or may not throw a couple of temper tantrums and burst into tears.

had a gobby few messages from my teen who i have had thoughts of murder towards. hubby had norovirus and spent an entire day vomitting yesterday. yeah welcome to my week sunshine and i did it whilst travelling around the globe.

told his brother today who was very surprised. all his friends were wonderful and some are talking about coming up for hogmany. no way am i cooking and hosting with a tiny new baby! am off now as bus is due in and it has beds!! yayyyyy. i just want to sleeeeeeep

Miserable. Developed a spotty itchy rash on my chest on Sunday afternoon. It got worse today so I went to the chemist but all he could offer without a prescription is Calamine Lotion.

it is now spreading up my neck. It itches so bad it burns. Switching between calamine and a cold wet cloth but I don't think I have any chance of sleeping.

I have a dentist appointment after work tomorrow so can't get to doctors until Wednesday.

Don't know what to do???

Treacle - so sorry to hear of your news, but trust you had the love and support of your family yesterday to help ease the way...

Have my 12 week scan tmrw (eeek!). Dated 12 + 5 but think that may change a little. Trying very hard not to think too much about it and put faith in that everything 'seems' to be ticking along alright but time is starting to d r a g until we know for sure...

Had 3 hours in hospital yesterday morning for a glucose tolerance test. Haven't had any symptoms of gestational diabetes and had my bloods taken straight after breakfast last time (which I think elevated sugar levels somewhat), but nervous about the potential impact if it comes back positive... Anyone else been through this?

Hi catface did you spend too much time in the sun over weekend or use sun tan lotion? Once on holiday I got a really itch rash on my chest and I think it was a bit of heat rash and sun lotion mixed together? I think with anything skin related it's just keeping it clean, cool and put the lotion on and it will clear up. The last thing you need at the minute though!! Get well asap!

So I had some red blood on wiping last night again. About 2 weeks since the last time so I put a liner on to monitor and went to bed but don't seem to have had any overnight or on my nighty wee trips so fingered crossed it was just a one off again! It's so mean as I am 11+6 today so thought I would be out of the mc dark cloud but I guess not :( trying to stay positive with my scan in 4 days

Omama I can't believe you have been forcing down tea to look normal lol what are we like?!

So the stemetil I was given yesterday enabled me to eat dinner! Hurrah! Mind you, twas only a chip butty, but even so I'm pleased. Only 2 bits of bread in total as my stomach has quite obviously shrunk in size, felt so so full afterwards, which wouldn't usually be the case! Hoping it continues to be effective today. Husband said it was so good to see me eating :) He also saw me fully dressed (I don't bother if I'm home all day, but had to get meds) as said I look really skinny - well yes, I've lost almost a stone and my boobs have grown so ofc I'm going to look skinnier compared to usual, fooooool.

Luckily, the hot weather has this morning turned into a grotty day. Yay! Had windows open all night and a damp cloth for my feet/lower legs. Was getting fed up of the sun tbh, but at least now I don't have to worry about the photosensitive part of these tablets (no direct sunlight).

Good luck to all those traveling, and all those with scans. My best friends announced their pregnancy to the world yesterday after they had their 12 week scan, can't wait until June 2nd to do the same!! Eeeee!!

Did you have an idea about your best friend being pregnant or was it a suprise? So lovely to be only a few weeks apart when the babies come :)

Had scan at EPU yesterday after pain in one side and a little blood. All is fine, I was relieved I was bawling my eyes out. Have a cyst on right ovary but nothing unusual and nothing to worry about. Dated slightly further along at 12+4 so will be 13 weeks at my NT scan on Friday.
EPU team at QMC in Nottingham were lovely.
