I'll have cake! DD1 being a nightmare with naps, bedtime and night waking at the moment (2 year sleep regression or just making me pay for going to NYC at the weekend, which was ace by the way). I cannot fathom how I'm going to handle nap times and bed times on my own with a toddler and a baby.

I've had 4 scans so far (8 weeks, 11 weeks, 18 weeks and 30 weeks). The first three were all standard for my midwife but the 30 week one was just a quick cheeky look as we were in a room with a machine and my MW didn't have her doppler handy. Could see DD2 sucking which was very very cute. I think there's one more standard one at the end to check on fluid levels etc.

icklekid · 22/05/2014 18:36

How rude foxtrot enjoy eating it all Smile

plate hope all is ok umbilical cord wise at the scan thinking positive thoughts for you!

its great news that all was good.

My bump is so heavy now going to have to get back support out again to cope with weight. I'm just tired more than anything. 1 more day at work then 1 week off 3 more to go...boo that it should only be 2 weeks but got a feeling will be late so will be great full in the long run...just wait until I'm early and have no maternity leave pre baby!

coco808 · 22/05/2014 20:12

ItsAlways glad your scan went well Smile

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 22/05/2014 22:44

Thanks all. If there's any cake left I'll gladly partake!

Had our second NCT class tonight - favourite part was possibly when the teacher got our partners to stand behind us supporting the bump and then told all the women to relax forwards so the partners had to take the weight! Surprised how shocked some people were at how heavy it actually is!

BlueC2 · 23/05/2014 03:19

IABOH that's a great exercise to do-might get DH to try tomorrow!

If there's any Cake left then I'll gladly have some -not only do i feel ravenous (it's 3am!) but I have yet to make DS's birthday cake and am yet to work out when I will manage to do it! Not sleeping well at night (stupid twitchy restless legs) and exhausted during the day-grrr!

7 weeks left to go which (hopefully) gives plenty of time to sort out the nursery which has become general dumping ground, finish off the garden, complete weaning of DS from bedtime breastmilk feed (think this could be the hardest task!) and try not to panic at just how I'm going to cope with a newborn + toddler??!!

fifi669 · 23/05/2014 08:38

Has everyone got names sorted? We've settled with Thomas Jago

ismarah · 23/05/2014 09:01

That sounds lovely Fifi!

We're still working on it. I do feel a bit like I want to meet bean before deciding. Maybe bean is a Clarissa but not a Sharon...or maybe I'm silly. DH finally did start his list of names - it was one of the things I nagged him to do for a few months while.

We're off to IKEA today to pick up a cotbed and other bits - our biggest thing left and it feels so good to finally be doing it!

Went to a thing last night and saw some people. Got comments about my small bump! Which I didn't think it was particularly as all measurements have been right on the average line and I have 6 weeks to go. Quite happy to be less blimp-like than I feared I would be though!

#ismarah has a problem with !!! ! And no idea why!

AuntieMaggie · 23/05/2014 10:14

ismarah I've had comments about not looking as far along despite measuring 38 weeks! Infact someone yesterday said they didn't realise I was pregnant!

fifi thats a lovely name.

ItsAlways glad scan went well.

elliejjtiny · 23/05/2014 11:57

I'll have some Cake.

fifi love the name. We've decided on Zechariah Joseph.

I've got my last scan booked on 12th June. Not had that many this time, this will be the 4th but had 6 with DS4. Should have been 7 but I missed the last one because he was prem.

fifi669 · 23/05/2014 12:29

DS is Isaac which we figure may be shortened to Zac by his friends when he's older so all names of that line were out for us straight away.

The other boys name we liked was Malachy. DP went off it so I've said if he gives me another boy next time I'm having it! We couldn't pick a girls name so good job it's a boy really.

fifi669 · 23/05/2014 12:30

Oh love the name too ellie :)

BlueC2 · 23/05/2014 13:41

Grrr trying to have a mini nap whilst DS sleeps and before I tackle making his birthday cupcakes and my brain has gone into some weird overdrive about my waters suddenly going and being rushed into hospital for EMCS and all the things I've yet to sort out-like getting the car seat ready and fishing out the newborn insert, getting DS's overnight bag sorted and various other tasks I could delegate but DH would get v frustrated/flustered doing as I can't describe exactly where I've put things! Think I'm gonna give up on my nap now though :( just so so tired!

Plateofcrumbs · 23/05/2014 14:42

Great name choices! We are still struggling not helped by DH's failure to engage with the subject Have some ideas for boys but struggling with girls.

elliejjtiny · 23/05/2014 15:09

fifi I have an Isaac too (and a Malachi) but all of mine insist on being called by their full names so I decided to risk it.

AuntieMaggie · 23/05/2014 16:10

blue I've been having similar thoughts usually in the middle of the night when I've woken up for a wee Hmm so am determined to get things sorted this weekend.

Lovely names fifiand ellie. I really like malachy but DP said no... like he has to most other names!

BP is still up so mw coming to see me at home on Monday...

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 23/05/2014 16:14

Plate in the same situation with DH re names. We talked ages ago and haven't really talked about it since so in my mind if bean is a girl its one name and a boy is another, both of which he liked. I will be heartbroken if he decides he does not like them after all.

He still occaisionally mentions Kimberly for a girl and Zebedee for a boy, both ridiculous with our 4 syllable long surname. Hmm

BlueC2 · 23/05/2014 16:25

We have the girls name left from last time and do thankfully have a boys name agreed too now as we really struggled with boys names! Both top secret I'm afraid though! I really like our girls name so will be a little gutted not to use it if we have another boy (as we're only planning to have 2 DC).

So the birthday cupcakes and teddy and star cakes are made :) though I may have sampled a bit too much of the chocolate frosting Blush so now feel rather sick - oops!

auntie yes i need to make a list of the things that came to mind in my panic state earlier and get them sorted - as well as urgently clearing all the junk that has got piled into the nursery since we moved DS out into his new room. If only I had a bit more energy!! Totally crashed out again now after making the cakes and the kitchen looks as though an icing sugar bomb has exploded in there :)

icklekid · 23/05/2014 16:53

Ohhh yes somewhere to share names as dh doesn't want any one in RL to know! We haven't found out if it's a girl or boy so choice of Olivia Lucy or Theo Joshua.

Woo finally made it to half term- officially 3 weeks to go, only 6 days teaching and lots of things to finish off and handover!

Can't wait to get away tomorrow down to Devon for one last holiday- don't even mind if it rains all week. Had far to much cake today as is the way with last day of term Smile

I think I have an eBay addiction if I am watching an item and its a bargain I have to buy it then tell DH! Blush say it isn't just me! Today was a bath support...

Plateofcrumbs · 23/05/2014 17:38

Gosh what excellent taste in names you all have! ickle - Olivia was a frontrunner for a girl but as surname begins with D it is currently struck off. Joshua is a frontrunner for a boy, but Theo is lovely too might need to add it to our list

Mrsc020987 · 23/05/2014 19:29

Well this thread has moved fast! Just checking in, got a fright last week, soaking pants and had to change a few times over the coarse of the night, didn't want to panic as waters did not go with dd and don't expect them to go this time either (its a family thing, strong sacks we call it) dh made me call midwife and was sent straight to hospital to get checked. Everything ok, think its discharge but saw midwife today and she now wants me to see consultant next week to get referral for a scan to check fluid around baby! But as some of you have suggested put me into a whirlwind of nesting, scrubbed house and got nursery drawers lined with tissue paper and baby powder all clothes freshened up, bags packed! Just need Moses basket and car seat down from loft and i will be ready! Lovely names, we have Joshua (left over from last time) and Rosie, took ages to decide on girls still got Grace in mind so may need to wait and see what suits best!

AuntieMaggie · 23/05/2014 20:49

Right trying to sort out my hospital bags - does anyone want to share their lists?

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 23/05/2014 21:03

Lovely names all! We're basically settled on one (after DH rejected my fave boy's name of all time - still hoping to sneak it in there as a middle name!). However has to remain secret as my cousin's girlfriend is due 2 weeks before me, and my SIL 2 weeks after - we're well aware that someone else might beat us to it! Plus kind of want to wait till we see his face :)

maggie -hospital bags? I'm so not that organised yet! Should I be? I just realised I should actually start writing a birth plan...denial may still be the order of the day. Blush

oo00PIXIE00oo · 23/05/2014 21:32

Evening ladies, had 31w appointment with the MW and all well bean is no longer breach :)

We had an app on DH phone - he picked his favourite names and gave the phone to me ;) I deleted the ones I didn't like and added some more .... Anyway we settled on Olivia for a girl but as we know we are having a boy the name will be Ethan unless we change our minds at the last minute lol

One final purchase to do - the cot mattress but as we have a Moses basket we will wait for now

Going to see a new property on Sunday with a possible move before bean is born and as I'm 32 weeks tomorrow we best not hang around :)

Hope you all get a chance to rest over the long weekend xx

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 23/05/2014 21:55

We've got a probable boys name, but nowhere with a girls name. And just to add to the pressure you only get 3 days to register the birth here so you really need to know in advance.

Haven't even thought about hospital bag. With DS we walked into the hospital with nothing (I was in early labour but baby wasn't moving) expecting to be sent home - bag was left in the car. 8 hours later DH had to go out to the car to get something to dress the baby in!
