BlueC2 · 21/05/2014 20:30

AuntieMaggie · 21/05/2014 20:39

coco808 · 21/05/2014 21:12

just back from hospital AGAIN!!!
everything with the baby is Ok Smile
I've come to terms with the C section at 37 weeks, thanks to all the comments. Think the baby is safer out, than in now. Any tips on how I can fatten him up?
yay MrsB I remember you were 24th of June Smile was going to send you a fb msg later
ismarah come and join us on the 24th.

I have decided to work till the 20th of June. My cover starts a week later. I am feeling v emotional about it. Hate the thought of someone else taking over my role and not doing things as I would do them Envy lol

blue hopw your mum is OK after her visit?

thank you zing and good luck with the house move

coco808 · 21/05/2014 21:13

ismaraj and auntie I am so sorry to hear about the SPD being so bad as to need crutches Sad I have got off really lightly with it!

hope yours' isn't too bad liquid

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 21/05/2014 21:27

Is there any hop for you all AuntieMaggie, liquid, ismarah and anyone I've missed that the spd (iPad just tried auto correct it spd to sod!) will get better soon? I'm surprised to see how common it is.

AuntieMaggie I think that Lansinoh are the best disposable breast pads.

Blue I am very Envy that you can fit into a size 10 non-maternity dress that is almost floor length on a 5ft 10 model!

zing good luck with the packing.

11 more working days left for me! Shock
It looks like I won't be getting any maternity cover.

It feels like baby is still spinning around. I feel like I get 360degree kicks over the course of a day!

AuntieMaggie · 21/05/2014 21:53

foxtrot the spd should disappear once the baby is born.as long as we look after our pelvis during labour (i.e. don't give birth lying on back/sitting and make sure if we have epidural/any intervention where they may move our legs for us they do it slowly/gently/both at the same time etc). Its supposed to be 1/5 women who suffer it but my physio said its closer to 4/5 have at least a bit of pelvic pain.

Baby has been very active tonight!

fifi669 · 21/05/2014 22:37

The spd better disappear!

BlueC2 · 21/05/2014 22:58

Re. The dress I am only 5'2" so bump helps to shorten it :) I must also add that it is very very stretchy and probably a little tight around my bump and bottom but am ignoring this as I love the dress too much going to order it in a size 12 in the black as that will probably last a bit longer as bump grows. I would also hasten to add that with DS I had put on loads more weight by now and I think my saving grace this time is running around after him...he doesn't actually walk anywhere, he runs!! He let go of my hand in kiddicare earlier and next thing I knew he was on the other side of the shop! And the store is not small!!

coco thanks for asking about DM...she was pretty exhausted this morning, both physically and emotionally as I think she has had to reconcile with herself that she may not see Gma alive again :( not an easy thing to do! Sorry you are back and forth to the hospital though glad you are feeling better about the CS and at least you now have a date to work towards. No idea on the fattening up thing though as depends how well your body can process it all I guess?

Just had a nice evening out with DH for (decaf) coffee and cake but sooo tired now after my early morning, but just remembered I need to finish off the tesco shop being delivered tomorrow, and since it's DS's birthday at the weekend I need to add some treats :) so better get off MN and sort it out!

ZingWatermelon · 21/05/2014 23:15

Maggie

breastpads - can't remember which make, but I found the ones that have indentations in the middle for the nipples most comfortable.
I only ever used them for short periods of time so not an expert.

maternity pads - cheapest ones from wherever, I swear they are all the same!
(I get Tesco ones or from Boots, had used up unused leftovers from SILs which were Sainsbury's or Asda I think.)

hth.

back to boxes!Wink

Ok.... I'm going to admit it.... I'm fed up of being pregnant now. Will someone knock me out and wake me up in 6 weeks?

Plateofcrumbs · 22/05/2014 00:07

Hope the move is going smoothly zing
coco good to hear things sounding more positive
IABOH hope all goes well at the scan tomorrow, am sure it will.
Sorry for everyone struggling with crutches.

I have just got in from a night out and actually feel quite good just normal tired rather then 'preghaustion'. So nice just to be out like a normal human being!

Incapinka · 22/05/2014 07:18

I tried a lot of breast pads.... Ended up using disposable lansinoh ones. They were definitely the best for me. Relatively thin but good size and minimal leakage.

Plateofcrumbs · 22/05/2014 08:20

I hope the Lansinoh ones are good as I've bulk purchased already! Grin

elliejjtiny · 22/05/2014 11:25

Morning everyone. Temporarily lost the thread but I'm back now. Have I missed anything interesting? I'm 33+5 now and feeling so uncomfortable. I spent Monday pacing up and down the corridors of Bristol childrens hospital with a grumpy DS4 while this baby felt so low I was scared to poo!

Went to baby clinic yesterday and the HV there said that due to my "complicated situation" I will have 2 health visitors. Not sure what's so complicated about me. I've got PND and will have 3 under 5's, one with special needs so I suppose that sounds quite a lot of work for one HV but DS4's needs are all covered by paeds, dieticians, physios etc. Yesterday was the first time I've been to baby clinic in 6 months and I only went then because I was asked to as they hadn't seen me for ages.

For those who were asking I found kotex night time maternity pads are the most absorbent and I use reusable breastpads as I find disposable ones chafe my skin when they get a bit soggy.

AuntieMaggie · 22/05/2014 11:41

fifi same here I dunno what this baby was up to last night but it was damn uncomfortable!

Hope you're all having a good day

ismarah · 22/05/2014 12:55

Glad to see you back Ellie I wondered if we'd lost you..

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 22/05/2014 14:41

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone - you'll be unsurprised to know you were all right and there was nothing to worry about. Baby is growing fine (he's actually a bit above average!) and it's just me being a small person rather than anything untoward. Phew.

Coco - glad everything is OK.

ellie and fifi - tell me about it, already feeling fed up and still 8 weeks or so to go - although my main pregnancy gripe is lack of sleep which I guess isn't exactly going to be cured by giving birth!

elliejjtiny · 22/05/2014 14:49

If DH's Grandad says "still here then?" one more time I'm going to throw my tea at him. And don't get me started on the random old lady on the bus who suggested I have sex with my BIL "to get a girl next time" (I'm expecting DS5, BIL and SIL have a DD).

Plateofcrumbs · 22/05/2014 15:15

Great news IABOH - I've got my next growth scan a week today so hoping the umbilical cord is still doing it's job properly (reminding myself of the sonographer saying it was a 'variant of normal' and trying not to worry!)

Just trying to count up how many scans I've had - I think it is 10 so far and at least three to go!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 22/05/2014 16:25

Hope everything goes OK with that plate!

10 scans! I'm on 4 now, thanks to that panic and some bleeding I had in the first 6-8 weeks. Hopefully no more...

I should do at least another hour of work but my back's killing me from leaning over my laptop...

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 22/05/2014 17:38

Gather round ladies, I've got Cake.
DS has declared that he doesn't like his birthday cake. Sad and Angry

I won't complain about having to eat it

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 22/05/2014 18:01

I'll have some cake... Mum has come to visit and left the traybake at home Sad. I need cake!!!
