Lol at Plate's breastpads. We started this page on boobs and we shall end it on boobs. Thank you all for your cooperation. Grin

32 weeks today. And I rather had a marvellous girly day out in Reading, bit of shopping, bit of walking, lots of eating. Who cares if afterwards I had a two hour nap and won't be sleeping tonight? Who cares that afterwards I am waddling like my hips are articulated and my ankles are twice the size they should be?! It was worth it! Flounces slowly off, lady-like

AuntieMaggie · 06/05/2014 20:13

mummy can't you have the gtt at your gp surgery? The phlebotomist (?) did mine at my gp surgery and I went home in between appts.

plate I've yet to buy any - which ones did you go for?

Patchworking9til5 · 06/05/2014 20:15

Thanks for all you feeling sicky.
bizarrely hubby has come home and gone to bed with dodgy tummy which is v unusual. So am cooking dinner for myself and making him some fresh mint tea.
I found out that my hand cramping at night is.probably carpal tunnel!Shock midwife appointment tomorrow so will ask for referral as the pain is now all day. At least it stops me from working too much as can no longer type on blackberry!

ZingWatermelon · 06/05/2014 20:23

DH is home.

I think the increase in sickyness is due to the baby putting pressure on the internal organs. I felt light headed today and spent a lot of the morning heavy breathing.

Two good things today - pram system was delivered (apart from one item being the wrong colour and needing exchanging) and secondly someone has just called and offered DH a job after finding out he is being made redundant. Not sure if it the right job for him but its put a spring in his step Grin.

hannahlucyellen · 06/05/2014 20:39

auntie My dentist didn't want to see me for another year! I do need a filling re-done apparently, but I'm in no pain, and he just said to wait till after the baby arrives

Zing I very much think my bean is a blessing from God :) I must admit drawing strength from my faith is helping me face the reality of child birth!!

hannahlucyellen · 06/05/2014 20:41

Sorry for being incredibly lazy but where is the link to the Facebook group? Grin

AuntieMaggie · 06/05/2014 21:18

Aww thats nice liquid :)

Oh no patchwork is it in your writing hand? Heat helps so get a hot water bottle or heat pad on it and leave your blackberry alone (they're to blame for loads of hand/finger/wrist related issies) I've developed an ache in my wrist and it clicks but I keep waking up led on it so hopefully thats all it is.

Can't believe there is another 9 weeks of this... I thought this part was supposed to go fast???

maggie it's in both but worse in my right. Wondering if the exams last week aggravated it as before then it was just the cramping at night.
And I cannot wait to ditch the bb. had a chat with someone today about process for decommissioning it as mat leave fast approaches! Woop!

Hubby has been sleeping for the past hr and a half, I find sick men quite unnerving cos, hes always healthy, just looks so unwell and is incapable of doing anything other than just being ill. Always makes me think he's severely unwell but hoping it's just a bug. (flashbacks to a&e with his severe allergic reaction...)

ismarah · 06/05/2014 23:32

Patch what do you do with your arms when you sleep? I have an uncontrollable urge to tuck my hand under my chin, bending the wrist as I do so. This has caused RSI in the left one, until I started sleeping with a v v sexay splint that prevents me from bending it like that. I don't wear it for anything else and my wrist is mostly recovered - if I keep sleeping with the splint. Any time I forget though and it's back to the drawing board.

Worth a consideration?

icklekid · 07/05/2014 04:42

Oh dear patch hope you find something that helps even if just rest.

auntie I'm feeling exactly the same, to be honest at no point has this pregnancy 'flown' but that's probably because it has been hard work. I'm sure that it will all be worth it but felt every day of the 31 weeks so far!

There has been no flying in this pregnancy! Could be related to having DS.....

Exam today and DS had me up at 5.30. Totally unprepared, chronically tired. Hope work aren't too annoyed when I fail with flying colours! Going to resit in the November sitting on maternity so they have to be happy with that???

On a positive note we won the pub quiz last night :) instead of studying

I'm also finding myself breathless and just about anything is making me feel sick. Saw road kill, urging as I drove (was actually a rock). Small moth stuck on the condensation on the bathroom wall.... Sick. Brushing teeth and see dirt around the tap.... Sick. Counting down the days til I'm human!

Sorry so many of you are having a tough, sickly week - hope you (and husbands) feel better soon.

Liquid that's great news about your husband, even if it isn't the job for him at least it gives him options and most importantly boosts his confidence. Redundancy is such a mental blow.

All good here despite a manic bank holiday buying stuff for and sorting the new house. We still have about ten boxes, all the bits that I have no idea what we should do with. And now need to sort the baby's room - there are three trailing wires so need to work out how to tidy them up first! My parents have the cot so we won't be able to get that for probably three weeks - that'll take me to 35 wks so hoping this baby doesn't turn up early!

We bought a Sleepyhead that turned up last night (from NCT as it was £90 rather than £99 from John Lewis). It feels like either an extravagant waste of money or a lifesaver - I have friends who swear by it as the only way they got their newborn to settle. We'll see...

NCT 4/5 for us tonight.

Morning all. I had some lovely big movements from LO last night which were so welcome after a week or so of just faint squiggles. Midwife said 3 wks ago he is lying breech but I think maybe he,s moved to transverse now. Don't feel any moves at all in my upper belly, but everything right down low near pubic bone. Then last night in the bath I saw a big round bottom or head rolling itself over just near my belly button. Was thrilled! Wish so much I knew where his head was so I could stroke it through my belly.

Apparently I don't have to worry about his position until 36 weeks, is that right? So he can be wherever he wants for next 6 weeks and then hope he gets head down.

BlueC2 · 07/05/2014 12:12

We've made it to lunchtime-phew! When I woke up this morning I wasn't sure I'd make it to 9am as was just SO tired after tossing and turning most of the night. Everyone mentioning feeling sick again has reminded me that my morning sickness returned in the third trimester with DS-really hoping I don't have a repeat this time!

Ellen the nursing instinct is so strong and quite amazing in little ones- I nearly cried (with joy not pain) the first time DS fed after he was born :)

jasmine I think that's right-at least I'm hoping so as think my bean is transverse at the moment-and VERY wriggly!!

Right, let's see if I can get DS to nap so that I can lie quietly and read my book get lots of home admin done!?!

Plateofcrumbs · 07/05/2014 13:16

jasmine and blue - that's very similar to how my position feels at the moment - high right hand side is hard with little movement, most of the flurries of kicks and movement are left hand side, low down. So I'm imagining back/bottom is up high on the front right, with legs curled round to the left and head and arms low down. At least I hope so, that'd be a good position!

NCT lady told me that keeping your knees below your pelvis was good for encouraging the baby into the right position. So hoping my kneeling stool thing will be good for that as well as the rib pain.

Must say I'm generally feeling in a much more positive place about the pregnancy in the last couple of weeks - the reassurance from the growth scan has made a big difference, and a few other things like starting the NCT classes. I think the positive/constructive thoughts are outweighing the worry/denial for the first time.

AuntieMaggie · 07/05/2014 15:21

I need to make a decision about whether to continue with the yoga... at the moment I'm not sure if its doing me any good and in fact after a conversation with my physio I think some of the positions might be doing my spd more harm. Anyone have any advice?

MW ok this morning ... still measuring big, baby head down.on the right and she thinks yesterday was due to baby being led differently. My hand is swollen today.and she suggested carpal tunnel :( If things aren't better by Mon I'm off to GP for codiene and splint!

AuntieMaggie · 07/05/2014 15:23

plate I was positive until this mornings antenatal class and for some reason I'm now feeling vunerable - I sometimes think they make it worse by telling you so much!

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 07/05/2014 15:47

had a horrific dream last night about dh and his family stealing the baby. I had had an emergency section so had been knocked out and when I came round in a private room no one was there. 36 hours later no one had told me what sex the baby was and his family were in the ward elsewhere cooing all over it.

Still shaking...

ZingWatermelon · 07/05/2014 16:03

liquid

poor you, that's an awful dream!

I had a crappy one about DH working in Singapore for the next two weeks.
and when I woke up, had a wee then fell asleep I carried on with the same stupid dream!
Angry

He tried to keep a straight face and reassured me that he is not leaving the country
phew!
