icklekid · 02/05/2014 17:04

Woooo zing so so excited for you! Get that moving date booked amazing news.

Feel awful, got different medicine- good sign when pharmacist recognises you asking if your trying something else!!! Now to bed...

mtpg · 02/05/2014 17:07

Congratulations Zing, great news.
We managed to sign the contracts today, moving hopefully next week. :)

BlueC2 · 02/05/2014 17:10

Woohoo zing fantastic news!!

I've also managed to sort out insurance today and they will cover stuff stolen from the car on Monday night with minimal excess and no impact on NCD!! I checked policy docs before I rang back plus got someone more on the ball who knew what they were talking about this time! V pleased!

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 02/05/2014 18:21

Fantastic news Zing!

I went into the office today for the first time in months, felt right out of it though and didn't get much done. Have so much work to do over the next 5 weeks before I am on ML.

Bloody heartburn, gaviscon liquid rubbish but the tablets seem to work (obviously I have to pay for those Hmm)

MrsA2 · 02/05/2014 19:25

I'm back, we finally have internet!

Congratulations Zing and mptg on the house news, such a relief isn't it.

Great news Blue on your insurance too (though sorry you've had such a tough week).

Hectic week at work and house move last Friday has left me exhausted, I was a bit worried last night that something might be wrong as I was unusually shattered and had a little swelling in my lower legs and feet. Midwife this morning though and all was good with blood and urine so think I've just overdone it.

Wed was NCT session three for us, we've got a lovely group and found out the two of the three other couples are friends with people I work with - small world. My highly sceptical husband said on the way home that it has been worth doing; now that's some transformation! It's definitely made us think about things (parenting rather than just labour) in more detail.

Should probably book the hospital tour too but that feels like it'll make things a bit too real...

icklekid · 02/05/2014 19:36

liquid I've got tablets on prescription for free!

ismarah · 02/05/2014 20:09

Speaking of making things too real...if we manage to get the C section approved, it'd be in week 39. Which in my case is the last week of June! So I can theoretically say we will have a baby next month. Now, that's entirely too real. Gulp.

Patchwork88 · 02/05/2014 20:23

To add to the nct chat, we had a good first session too. Nice people, normal teacher. No moss, not too earthy, lots of bourbons. And next week she'll be talking about pain relief. Bit disappointed by lack of knitted reproductive organs though, but will hold out for the breastfeeding session.
Sooooooo excited about the long weekend. Hopefully will finish essay on sat/sun so can enjoy the Monday off Smile
Have a fun weekend everyone!

AuntieMaggie · 02/05/2014 20:36

home I'm refusing to shave my legs anymore - did it in the bath the other day and it was a right faff so DP may have to do that and paint my toenails Grin

zing yay for your house news :)

Met a friend today who had a baby 2 months ago - he was very lovely but I'm still having trouble connecting real babies to what's going on inside me! It did however make me realise that some of my maxi dresses perhaps weren't going to be very convenient for breast feeding... dammit

Patchwork88 · 02/05/2014 21:05

maggie hubby has been shaving my legs and painting my toes formthe last month or so. Warning though-you may find he enjoys it too much...mine was heard to say having painted my toes in a lovely shade of red "I'm not terribly happy with the big toe on the right foot" and had to be dissuaded from redoing the whole toe.

AuntieMaggie · 02/05/2014 21:20

patchwork DP has painted my nails before... he's better at it than me because he used to wear nail varnish in his teens Grin

He also shaves his own legs and is particularly anal about it (to make application/removal of injury tape easier - I've seen grown men cry trying to remove it from hairy legs!) and on occasion when he shaves my neck (I have really short hair and PCOS hairyness) he annoys me because he has to do it properly rather than just using clippers!

ZingWatermelon · 02/05/2014 21:36

Thanks all, it's such a relief!Smile

and congratulations mtpg!
selfishly I must dash, got floor plans to sort out but will read back properly tomorrow.

have a great weekend everyone!

Great news zing!
got whooping cough jab today, really achy arm now :(
also have to get up in 5hrs time for work :(
can't paint my toes either anymore lol

ZingWatermelon · 03/05/2014 03:13

I'm very flexible, just checked and I'm still just about able to chew my toenails - not that I ever do, but could if I wanted too!Grin

thanks for reminding me about jabs, must book them next week!!!

Ewww zing - I'm just jealous!

Anyway new medicine...slept until 4am Smile however went to bed throwing up and woke up feeling sick Sad but I ate nandos for tea and was hungry- first eve meal in months Grin
Will wait and see-dr was concerned about dehydration but no ketones!

I need to attempt toe nail painting this weekend so will see how that goes...
mummy hope your arms better today.

Woo to 3day weekend! Then 3 weeks at work, holiday, then 3 weeks at work, maternity leave!!! I realised this week I thought I was finishing at 36 weeks...I'm not I will be 37... Will see if I need to change it. Having been so ill this week the head is going to look at my hours- I am going to miss my class so much Sad I do love teaching really! Even if I moan about it occasionally!

mixi82 · 03/05/2014 04:39

Well that's me awake then! Baby is fast asleep though with its bum firmly raised to the sky haha. How do I know? Well there's a very large rounded bulge poking out of my belly! If baby wakes, it will roll back to 'back-to-back' and embed feet into my ribs so looking a little lopsided for now suits me to a tee!! :)

The birds are already singing......I'm still exhausted though

icklekid · 03/05/2014 05:23

mixi baby is always active when I'm first awake too, lots of kicking!

Right any quick win solutions/tips for cleaning a bathroom with spd? Dh is unable to, tried too many times but he doesn't understand the term scrub! I need a bathroom cleaner like mr muscle oven cleaner you leave and rinse-does it exist?

Sorry for very boring non pregnancy related post!

Plateofcrumbs · 03/05/2014 07:26

mixi I've still not worked out which way up this baby is (despite having had a scan two days ago - I should have asked!). I seem to get kicked in all corners of the bump, I can't work it out.

ickle - bathroom cleaning: I sympathise - DH has been the victim of me standing over him and issuing scrubbing instructions! No top tips other than if limescale is an issue then a special limescale spray makes light work of getting everything shiny and is just 'spray and rinse'.

Much happiness last night as some of our best friends have just had second baby (another boy) - although I feel sort of sad to have lost my 'bump buddy', I'm also very very excited. Need to buy some presents - should get something for their 2.5yr old as well as the baby, any suggestions?

Oh and SIL has crocheted us a gorgeous rainbow blanket, v thrilled!

fifi669 · 03/05/2014 07:56

Got a baby shower later. The friend in question has bought the entire stick from next and mothercare. Would a book for baby do? I'm not really sure about these baby shower things!

plate books are great for toddlers though! I recommend anything by Sue Hendra

AuntieMaggie · 03/05/2014 09:22

Have had a restless night and the bneighbours have started banging and drilling :(

ickle no advice re the bathroom cleaning as DP is the same... so frustrating that I can't just do it myself (as well as vacuuming the stairs...) but I daren't today as spd is bad

mixi baby spends most of its time with its bum just under my right rib but takes pleasure in kicking/punching me all over Grin

icklekid · 03/05/2014 11:29

Right bathroom is done, took me ages as needed a proper deep clean- dh response what have you been doing all that time? And that is why he can't be responsible for it!!!

Now to wash up/wipe kitchen surfaces before food shopping. Argh hate the pressure of parents coming to visit! Feel house has to be perfect, which is ridiculous and I know it!

At least dh is mowing the lawn at the moment!

oo00PIXIE00oo · 03/05/2014 12:44

Hi ladies had my first consultant appointment Wednesday all good news, GTT clear and as dd was 5lb 12oz when she was born 11 years ago! They sent me for an impromptu growth scan little bean is defo breach for now measuring perfect and a healthy 2lb 11oz (at 28+4) I'm 29w today. Also my placenta has moved from low to anterior so my 32w scan has been cancelled :). It was good to see the little man again unfortunately he had his legs over his face so no pic this a time :(. Had my whooping cough injection too - how long will my arm hurt for.....

Have just booked my driving test, will be 34 wks - let's hope the good vibes continue :)

Have a great weekend ladies x
