*by not buy!!!!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 01/05/2014 05:06

Of course Wink

Right. Attempt to sleep number 3 I think. Good luck for tomorrow.

NancyinCali · 01/05/2014 06:31

zing I had crab cakes followed by butter chicken. DH ate most of it for me Grin. Topped it off with some of the precious dairy milk our house guests brought over with them (American chocolate is crap).
Now to try to sleep...

Plateofcrumbs · 01/05/2014 07:11

Oh ickle I'm so sorry there is no let up in the sickness, it sounds horrific. blue hope the sinusitis starts getting better today. I feel so lucky not to have had so much as a sniffle yet this pregnancy (although as DH is currently suffering I shouldn't tempt fate!

Right, back to the report writing, then off for my scan. Praying they are running to time today as it might allow me to sneak a nap in after the scan before I need to go into work.

On sleep: I normally use my natal hypnotherapy to help me nod off but didn't have my recordings to hand last night. So just tried to do same thing of focusing on breathing and some visualisations myself and I was asleep in no time. Which is good - suggests on some level something is working (even though obviously the objective isn't actually to fall asleep during the birth!!)

AuntieMaggie · 01/05/2014 08:15

plate I always find hypnotherapy things help me fall asleep too even if they aren't meant too... though you are supposed to rest between contractions so it wouldn't be all bad if you did get some sleep Wink

blue hopefully the antibiotics will start kicking in soon and you have less pain today. I always think pain in your head is worse than anywhere else as you can't do anything to relieve it... make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids too as the painkillers can cause constipation.

Last day of work this week (yippee) then I'm down to 6 weeks left!

Plateofcrumbs · 01/05/2014 08:22

Ha Auntie my ability to fall asleep in unlikely situations is legendary (famous examples include falling asleep standing up at a gig, and falling asleep at a restaurant, but still managing to eat my dinner whilst asleep). Sleeping through birth with be the pinnacle of my achievement! Imagine that, just wake up from a nice nap and there's the baby Grin

ismarah · 01/05/2014 09:32

Plate that is the best birth plan I've seen yet!

Congrats Zing on house and everythings.

Ickle how have you managed not to be in the hospital after all this time so ill? Unlike Blue (sorry about your head too!) I feel the sickest when I'm nauseus so what you're going through is my idea of hell.

Nice job on the date night Nancy!

Plateofcrumbs · 01/05/2014 11:31

Whoo! Growth scan went really well - baby measuring as it should and 'dodgy' umbilical cord is doing it's job!

Sonographer's comment on umbilical cord issue - "these days we tend to view it as a variant of normal, not something we get too excited about". I could have actually kissed him. 'Variant of normal' will be my new mantra!

Sometimes you don't realise how much a worry has been weighing you down until it's lifted, but I'm feeling waaaay more positive after that.

Baby is 'feisty' apparently Grin

They are obsessed with the cysts/endometriosis thing though - c-sections mentioned again today. Starting to think they are going to want me to have an ELCS Hmm. Not really what I want but I don't really care today.

Casmama · 01/05/2014 12:11

Fab news about the scan Plate!

AuntieMaggie · 01/05/2014 13:24

zing hoping house stuff goes smoothly for you. Your 'cage fighting' comment has made me smile as very appropriate for baby today!Grin

plate so pleased for you about the growth scan. I know an ELCS isn't what you want but try not to dwell on it. I may have to have one too due to health reasons (will find out in a few weeks) but I'm trying to focus on me and baby being healthy being more important

ZingWatermelon · 01/05/2014 13:45

oh Maggie DH told me earlier to not get my hopes up but we might exchange today! fx firmly crossed!

I am so tired I decided to have a nap and phone is on silent so I'm not half-waiting for his call.
(but I'm on MN.Confused [illogical])

Patchwork88 · 01/05/2014 15:56

oooh you all seem very jolly today. Exciting news about house zing and I'm glad the growth scan went well plate

I'm excitedly awaiting the arrival of our cleaner, I don't think the flats been properly clean since before I was pregnant Grin I was tempted to do a quick clean before she arrives to avoid too much shame but am trying to resist an remember that's why I'm paying her!
Also excited about first NCT class tomorrow, have been gathering moss all week to get in the mood.

Plateofcrumbs · 01/05/2014 16:04

Yup auntie in grand scheme of things am not too worried about how the baby comes out as I'll be having a nap Wink

BlueC2 · 01/05/2014 16:20

Afternoon all!

plate so glad scan ok
zing hope all going well with the house and that you managed to nap
ickle so sorry you've been so sick- hope you've felt a bit better today

My pain seems to be easing very slightly but the co-dydramol has made me woozy/sleepy to say the least-so much so I've had to stop taking it and go back to paracetamol :( gonna pop back to Triage tonight and get them to check baby ok after the cocophany of drugs I've taken in last 2 days. Despite it being v early I'm rapidly reaching the point where I'd actually like baby to just arrive now!!

dramajustfollowsme · 01/05/2014 16:21

Haven't been on in a few day and will go back and catch up. Ended up at the doctor on Monday as mw hadn't returned my calls. I was feeling faint and breathless, all the time. I actually fainted at least 7 times over the weekend.
My lovely neighbour ran me to the surgery as I felt hideous.
My blood pressure is the cause - it was really, really low. This is why I'm feeling so awful. I have low blood pressure at the best of times but at the moment it isn't staying up high enough to even keep me upright. ConfusedSad
They wanted to admit me to hospital but Tuesday was dd's birthday so I really wanted to be here.
I've basically been having bed rest at home. It isn't easy - I really hate doing nothing but I'm not physically able to do much anyway.
I've cracked a tooth due to smacking my head from one of the faints so I am trying to be careful. Tis rubbish.
-rushes off to catch up on the thread.--

Plateofcrumbs · 01/05/2014 16:36

Drama you poor thing Sad look after yourself Thanks I don't know much about low BP, can they do anything to treat it or is it really just a case of rest, rest, rest?

icklekid · 01/05/2014 16:59

Oh drama that doesn't sound good, rest up Sad

blue hope all is ok at triage...

zing any exciting house news???!

I feel awful, I have no idea how I made it through today nor how I will tomorrow... Still so sick, very worried about dehydration so got doctors appointment tomorrow.

patch hope you didn't clean- my parents are up this weekend so need to find the energy to clean myself...

NancyinCali · 01/05/2014 17:23

Missed your comment earlier ickle I'm in California (8 hours behind) but a 2am date night might be a way of fitting it in when there's a toddler & newborn in the house Grin. Sorry you're still feeling so ill.

Glad your appointment went well plate

drama you poor thing! Get plenty of rest!

NancyinCali · 01/05/2014 17:26

Oh and plate I did fall asleep in-between contractions so maybe that was the effect of my hypnobirthing cd or I was flipping exhausted

Patchwork88 · 01/05/2014 17:27

ickle and drama you sound so poorly :-( Not how it should be at this late stage when really all you want to do is enjoy the calm before the childbirth storm.
oh and no I resisted the urge to pre-clean. Just decided I have no shame!! ickle you shouldn't clean either, just ask your parents to clean for you when they arrive. Mums always ask 'is there anything I can do?" so maybe take her up on it!
I think someone was requesting photos of the artwork in the nursery it need is now finished but am reluctant to make post photos for fear of outing myself. suffice to say it is vvvv bright yellow with orange and blue elephant border and multi coloured knitted bunting. The paint had really fun names from a shop called Siecle, I think the owner is taking the mick out of farrow&ball lol.

icklekid · 01/05/2014 17:33

Also to top things off my belly button has nearly popped Shock I don't like it!!!

mixi82 · 01/05/2014 18:23

Patch ickle and plate thanks for the compliments in knitting! I should be able to make that little pocket monkey, just finishing off making a little sailor hoodie for baby at the moment but will do it, no charge! :)

fifi669 · 01/05/2014 18:47

There's no chance of my belly button popping, it's like the Grand Canyon....

ZingWatermelon · 01/05/2014 19:07

gah, still not exchanged. Angry
and this time it's our solicitor who overlooked some detail.
he is a friend so can't even have a go at him.
