Look after yourself, carebear and good luck with the blood test.

My dr also told me that the bloods make all the difference - in my case she meant I shouldn't get too complacent with the low NT measurement. Fortunately my results came in yesterday and I'm very low risk for a 35 yo at 1:6000.

fedup the Harmony test finds DNA from the foetus in your blood and examines it for chromosomal abnormalities. You then get either a 1:2 risk or a 1:10000 risk, those represent the false positive and false negative rates. If you get a 1:2 then they recommend an amnio/cvs to diagnose as there's still a high chance that the foetus doesn't have t21/18. You can also find out the baby's sex.

I think most of us felt symptoms dropping off a bit towards the 12 week scan sparkle so try not to worry. I'm sure everything will be fine. For me I seem to have a day or two each week where I start worrying that something has gone wrong! Im 14+3 now ...

tak1ngchances · 15/04/2014 11:16

I'm 14+5, have a little bump, and am still convinced that I'm making it all up in my head. Feel like such a fraud every time some congratulates me, or even when I put some maternity clothes on!
Best of luck Sparkle we'll be thinking of you x

LondonJen · 15/04/2014 11:40

Thinking of you sparkle, the worry is awful. My symptoms tailed off too, my boobs were still big, but not sore and nausea eased dramatically. Although both things have been back since in the last week (I am 14+6).

I took my bounty card to boots to get the mum-to-be pack and they gave me an Emma's diary pack! I didn't notice till I got home. Have I missed out, were the bounty contents any good? There was no little magazine in the Emma pack, which I quite liked in the first bounty pack.

Dp is in the good books today, he ordered some shirts from the US and bought me some denim maternity shorts in his order! So sweet and they fit just lovely (even if current 'under bump' bands still sit above what bump I do have!)

STIGZ · 15/04/2014 12:03

gun i have had 1 cs due to my dd being breach but went into labour 1 week before the date of my cs, so it ended up being an emergency cs.

I was 9 cm when i got to the hospital and by the the time epidural was starting to work baby's heartbeat dropped and wouldnt recover so they proceeded to cut and said they would knock me out if i felt any pain

Im just wondering if she wasnt breach would i have needed cs anyway due to heartbeat dipping?

Im really undecided about trying for vbac, think the thought of my scar rupturing for the next 6 months would send my anxiety through the roof again.. I felt fine after cs .. Im thinking better the devil you know due to previous anxiety problems ??

I honestly dont know what to do for the best??

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 15/04/2014 12:23

STIGZ how long ago was your cs?

I'm in the same boat, dd was born by planned cs as breech, but as I'll have a 5.5 year age gap I'm really not worried about trying for a vbac. I'm more concerned about this one ending up breech as well and have been trying to untuck my pelvis and do lots of squatting!

ExcitedCJ · 15/04/2014 13:00

Quick update - just got Harmony results, lowest risk for all factors & I know the sex! :) First time I have felt relaxed and able to smile in weeks. Phew.

Captainmcgraw · 15/04/2014 13:10

Thinking of you sparkle. I'm still bleeding every few days and although it isn't leading to anything serious then I still panic every time I see it. Knowing how it feels and hoping today brings reassuring. carebear you're also in my thoughts.

If your hospital is anything like mine carebear they will be running behind, I'm sure DP will be sprinting to catch up with you, good luck :) x

Sparkle hope it goes well - my hospital were running 20 mins behind today so hopefully your DP will be able to be there.

sazzlehopes · 15/04/2014 15:59

Thanks for the new thread.
Carebear - hope all goes ok next week, thinking of you. Thanks

Stigz and Frau - i'm in the same boat as you guys. Emcs the first time even though we wanted home birth! So this time I'm thinking I'm going to try vbac, no appointment yet, think that'll happen near 20 weeks according to the midwife. My ds is just over 3 years so i'm not worried about my scar.

Great news Excited, Daphne and Sparkle!

Have been checking in for your news Sparkle I do hope you are feeling happier now Smile I think my paperwork just said 'liver visible' and same re another organ (can't remember which) but I don't remember any mention of the heart on there (although it was pointed out to us on the screen.)

CareBearWithFangs · 15/04/2014 16:54

Congrats on your scan daphne. And I hope yours went well sparkle.

The consultant called me today and she said they'll give me the option of the cvs test tomorrow (which we've decided to take) and should have some results by thurs. So will know if the baby has downs/turner or another syndrome that I can't ever remember the name of because I haven't heard it before by thurs. The other chromosomal disorders will take a bit longer to get the results. I'm impressed with how quick it's all being looked into and everyone has been really lovely.

CareBearWithFangs · 15/04/2014 16:55

Ooh cross posts. Congrats sparkle.

Kirstipops · 15/04/2014 17:00

Sorry sparkle I meant to type your name in my last message, I really should stop sneaking looks at Mumsnet on my phone when I'm supposed to be working, I just type nonsense! I think the 20 week scan will go into more depth with regards checking organs, there was certainly no mention of checking them at mine either.

Good luck carebear and fingers crossed. That's great sparkle we didn't get much of a report apart from ok!

mum2kiss · 15/04/2014 18:09

Ive been dithering about whether to add my due date to the list because my sonographer was so rubbish and didnt date me...I dont know if I'll get re-dated at the 20 week or if I'll just have to stick with my lmp date...

STIGZ · 15/04/2014 18:30

frau & sazzle my cs was 4 years ago, didnt realise that length of time in between cs was considered.

I have just been reading bits & pieces online, really want to be informed of pros and cons for both before attending the meeting at 20 weeks.

I think the thing thats mostly putting me off vbac at the momment is that you have to labour within a certain time .. If your labour is taking too long then you will end up with a cs anyway ?

Think i will start writing down everything that im unsure about and take it with me to the meeting.

Loulou888 · 15/04/2014 19:11

Mum2kiss perhaps it is your lmp which is why they didn't tell you. My due date is same as lmp.

Matildasmam22 · 15/04/2014 19:26

Sparkle I'm really chuffed for you saw your earlier post need to catch up properly on the thread but good luck to everyone who is anxious. I had my scan this morning I'm 12 weeks exactly which might put my due date into November but with youngest DD arriving at 30 weeks we are pretty much preparing for an August baby with any further along a bonus. Scan showed a very active baby with a huge looking head obviously taking after DP already :)
