Good to know pebble I'd like to get that soon.

Thanks Loulou I might get some jeans!

Take care of yourself the rest of the day carebear

Is anyone else having very chesty breathing? I don't know how else to describe it. Am 15 weeks today. Have had breathlessness for ages but that's after a flight of stairs or other exertion. This is when I am just sitting or laying down, it's a bit like my windpipe, possibly my lungs are a bit..not smooth, like my breath is catching. I had a couple of instances at the weekend but yesterday it was more frequent. However, today I have a cough too so maybe it's just how a cold feels when it starts when pg?! I feel fine in myself otherwise and no other symptoms apart from growing pains as usual. Certainly not going blue or anything serious. Imposs to see gp before Easter now, tho can leave mw an answerphone message. Does it sound like just a pregnancy thing? My bump seems to have popped up a bit this morning so maybe body is just working very hard? Surely baby not big enough to be squashing things just yet tho? Any thoughts appreciated!

magichandles · 16/04/2014 14:51

carebear I've been thinking of you as well.

Not sure LondonJen - I've definitely got a dry mouth at the moment, especially at night as my nose has felt a little blocked for a few weeks now, which I'm sure I've read is a pregnancy thing.

I'm 12+5 now and I feel a million times better - sickness has completely disappeared. I have had mild indigestion the last two nights though, so that would be typical that that replaces the nausea.

I should find out school allocations for DD in the next couple of hours, I'm feeling pretty nervous.

Grannyapple · 16/04/2014 17:38

carebear glad the procedure wasn't too painful...try & rest up xxx

Grannyapple · 16/04/2014 17:40

Ooh me23 hope you got your schools choice. That'll be me next year...dreading it to be honest..

Me23 · 16/04/2014 19:38

Hello everyone,

grany I was so confused reading your post then I realised you meant to reply to magic good luck hope you get what you want!

Ds has just been accepted for a full time nursery place at the nursery attached to dds school, which is great as it means I won't have to pay for childcare whilst on mat leave. Though will be sad to move him from his current nursery as it's great and I trust all the people there but it is so expensive.

london I would get myself checked out if I were you. Though some breathlessness is common in pregnancy it sounds like your struggling with it. maybe you are coming down with something. ?chest infection. Any pain when you breathe? Can u go to a walk in centre?

Kirstipops · 16/04/2014 19:43

Could it maybe post-nasal drip LondonJen? I had it a couple of years ago (not pregnant at the time), and it started with that sort of feeling with me, sort of tight like I couldn't get a proper breath, then a rubbish cough as the phlegm was irritating my chest ugh, as preggos we are apparently more mucus-y anyway so could be a possibility? I was given a steroid nasal spray, not sure if that's the same treatment in pregnancy though.

Whoops posted too soon,
care I'm glad the cvs procedure went well, I hope you are managing to rest and have lots of support. Will you have the results Friday?

TroubleAndFyfe · 16/04/2014 19:47

I hope you've got some peace and quiet now carebear and that you can fill the next few days with treats and lovely people. Thanks

mrsb87 · 16/04/2014 19:51

Hi guys, glad to hear the procedure went well carebear.

I had my 16wk appointment today. It was nothijg spectacular, just blood results. Everything was ok but I'm a negative blood group. She didn't go too much into it other that there can be some complications. Little worried but I've done well so far. Anyone else have this issue?

CareBearWithFangs · 16/04/2014 19:52

London I would maybe speak with your midwife/gp just in case?

I should get the results from cvs tomorrow afternoon. I managed to stay really positive yesterday but I'm having a bit of a slump now. I know it's childish but I just keep thinking how unfair it all is, I take really good care of myself, never smoked, never done drugs, barely drink and now we're having all these problems. I know there not at all related to chromosome problems but I think I'm just cursing the universe a little bit.

Grannyapple · 16/04/2014 20:32

Oops sorry me23, of course I meant magic Grin. Did tog get your preferred choice magic?

I'm having thoughts of changing nursery for DD when I'm next in mat leave (tho she's only just started settling in sessions at current nursery, in properly when I'm back at work next week). Is really expensive in that nursery too but DS loves it & I'm loathe to move him...means more chance, as well as dealing with another new sibling..

mrsb I'm rhesus negative blood group too...for me it has only meant receiving anti D at 28 wk appts & then again once they've checked baby's blood from the cord after birth...needed it again after DS's birth as he was Rhesus positive, but not for DD as she has same blood group as me. The risk is if baby's blood comes into contact with yours & your body tries to fight it as it thinks it's a foreign body type thing. So long as you don't have any bleeding in pregnancy, you should hopefully be fine x

Grannyapple · 16/04/2014 20:33

Tog=you, chance=change in that last post!!

magichandles · 16/04/2014 20:35

mrsb87 - I'm Rhesus Negative as well and all it means (if I can remember) is that if your baby is positive and any of your blood gets mixed it means that your body produces anti-bodies that could cause problems in future pregnancies. All it means for now is that you'll get an Anti-D injection around 28 weeks and another shortly after the birth if the baby is a positive bloody group. Also if there is a chance that your blood could mix with the babies during pregnancy (heavy bleeding or a blow to the stomach) you'll need an injection then. I haven't ever really worried about it.

DD got her first choice school, which is a massive relief.

LondonJen · 16/04/2014 20:38

Thanks for all your thoughts. I will call the gp tomorrow and try to at least get an over the phone assessment. me23 No it doesn't hurt at all. Actually the walk in centre (2 miles away) could be a good back up plan if open over the holidays, thanks didn't of that. Kirsti I was just loosing a cold when I got pg and every morning I have mucus yuk in my mouth which is the same yuk as when I have sinusitus. Apparently am snoring and sleeping with my mouth open so could be something like that. Will get checked out.

Glad your appointment went well MrsB I can't help with your q I'm afraid.

Carebear I would feel just the same. Life can be crap that way sometimes.

mrsb87 · 16/04/2014 20:42

Thanks granny and magic! I just sat there like a wet lettuce and nodded, left and wondered why I didn't ask?!? Probably need dh there in future to help with questions.
I feel a little less concerned now so thanks again!

ExcitedCJ · 16/04/2014 20:48

Hi mrsb I'm O neg and I was all concerned when pregnant with DD but no issues, dog jumped on my stomach at some point prior to WK28 and they told me not to panic. They were most unconcerned about giving me Anti D until I was scheduled to have it. I think its just after a serious trauma or sharp blow.

Kirstipops · 16/04/2014 20:52

Yep mrsb my sis is rhesus negative too and just had to have the injections because her babies were different blood type from her.
LondonJen it does sound quite like post nasal drip that you have then, I'm not a snorer but when I had PND I had to sleep with my mouth open like a snoring snorey thing as I couldn't breath through my nose, I'm also prone to sinusitis ever since, pants! Off to the docs with you ;)

Hi all havent been around in a while as busy with work. We have our 16 week appointment next week when we will actually be 17. Relieved that our ds has got into his first choice school today.

Anyone suffer migraines in this pregnancy? I had one start yesterday that is just about easing off now - tried to deal with it without drugs but have had to result to paracetamol today to get rid of it. 3 lots of 2 tablets to be exact - hoping that will do as didnt really want to tale any.

Next question did any of you with dc1 already have premature babies? Our ds was born at 33 weeks, emcs they have said will see a consultant at 20 weeks but wondering what I should be asking or what other cbecks are offered around the country. Ds born due to unexplained waters breaking no infection or anything to give explanation.

ldt87 · 16/04/2014 22:05

Ah I lost your all! Didn't see the new thread, I'm due October 9th, can someone add me please? I'm in the Facebook group already.

How is everyone? Xx

ldt87 · 16/04/2014 22:07

Also this is number 3 for me, and I had my 16 week appointment today and heard the heartbeat even though I'm actually 15 weeks tomorrow xx

magichandles · 16/04/2014 22:08

vicky dc1 was 33+ 5 and that was just dealt with at routine consultant's appointments when I was pregnant with Dc2 - prematurity was most likely result of an infection. No problems with dc2 But (same hospital) are sending me for an extra scan around 20 weeks with this pregnancy at the cervical clinic because I've had one premature delivery - no idea why this one and not with dc2.

Kirstipops · 17/04/2014 08:02

It's great to hear isn't it ldt? The midwives was walking over to me with the Doppler saying "Now it can take a wee while to find the heartbeat at first so don't worry if you don't hear it right away..." then as soon as she put the thingumy on my tum there it was, going like a drum haha!
People were asking if it sounded like a train or a horse galloping, another old wives' tale that's new to me! Mine sounded like a dog barking!

Kirstipops · 17/04/2014 08:02

The midwife was, even.

Thinking of you whilst you wait for your results this afternoon carebear, don't beat yourself up about how you're feeling; it normal to want something to blame and difficult because there is nothing to blame.
Those if you who had 33 week babies when did your subsequent ones arrive? I'm wondering if it makes you any more/less likely to deliver early/late next time? I feel like I'll be waiting to deliver from early September because of last time and it might not be relevant at all!

ldt87 · 17/04/2014 08:37

The same happened to me kirsti, was warned not to worry if they couldn't find it straight away but it was there instantly. It did move though so then she had to go looking for it! I got myself in a tizz because no my notes it looks like she's put fhs and then sonicaid, I though it was fhh when they hear the heartbeat? I'm so paranoid something is wrong and they wouldn't tell me! I know how ridiculous that is too xx
