If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

Evening all!!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. It has been hot and sunny here so we went to the beach yesterday and all the fresh air has made me feel tons better.

FTN obviously I can't speak for everyone else but I am feeling a lot more confident now I've passed 13 weeks. (The doppler helps!) we've even spoke about prams!!! Mainly as I have a tiny car so want a compact folding one as my car will be the one it spends most time in!

Paranoid who are we to judge our little babies eating habits! Yours wants pizza, mine demands cream cakes! I think we should spoil them rotten after all they know what the want!!! Lovely neat bump you are growing there! I'm not surprised people are guessing though!

Have attached mine. 13+3 today. Excuse the laundry on bed! That is what I am supposed to be doing!!!

Ooh, cream cakes franks - am just about to go to the supermarket...

I'm feeling good. 13+1 and told my first class on Thursday (my year 12s, who I wanted to prepare as I won't have them next year) so probably all over school by now.

My stomach is enormous come the afternoon as well! One more weei and then another mw appt. Shld hear the heartbeat this time.

Tonight...thermal baths!

MrsFtn · 23/06/2014 12:51

Afternoon all. Hope everyone is well. I had a really busy day yesterday doing the garden and playing with Dd outside. Then did loads of ironing before bed. Have spent this morning watching Mr Popper's Penguins with Dd and having mini pamper morning!

I was wondering of any of you ladies dye your hair and if so are you still doing it now pregnant? I'm 31 but have
been blessed with dark hair with lots of greys appearing from the age of about 26 so I'm desperate to dye it as haven't done it since I found out I was pg. I've read lots of conflicting things on the interweb and I keep forgetting to ask mw.

PresidentSpreadable · 23/06/2014 13:03

Dying your hair is fine I believe. Especially once you're out of the first trimester.

Advice is to leave it on for the minimum amount of time, but the amount of chemicals that could possibly reach the baby are so negligible that it almost certainly won't cause any problems at all. I think it would only be problematic if you were a hairdresser and handling large quantities of hair dye on a daily basis.

regularbutpanickingabit · 23/06/2014 14:23

Hello!
14+6 now and hoping to get out of the exhaustion/sickness phase very soon. I have a couple of ok days and then am completely floored again. Work is ramping up so I am working most evenings this week on top of my normal day job. Not what I need when I feel this rough!

I am definitely feeling movement of some sort. No kicking yet but sort of squirming movements, especially if I move quickly from lying on my back to my side.

Food is still a bit of a disaster. Can't wait for a healthy diet to become the norm. The thought of green salad makes me feel dreadful!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 23/06/2014 20:24

frank nice one too Smile.

It's not that i mind people knowing, it's just that i'm not ready to talk about it at work cos i'm still very anxious, maybe i should have got a doppler too. The recruitment agency came for my maternity cover this afternoon, and it freaked me out Shock, i've tried to be strong but can't wait another week for mw appt, so i've decided to go to hospital tomorrow morning for them to have a listen. Getting ready for lots of waiting around.

engels enjoy the thermal bath Smile

regular your work load sounds awful, fx your energy comes back soonest.

i tried pg yoga tonight, lovely teacher, and most ladies were over 20w, but honestly, what the hell was that? sitting on the sofa is a better workout.

Penguin13 · 23/06/2014 21:11

Hi all. Just checking in after a long weekend off work. We didn't go anywhere but it's been so lovely spending some relaxed time together in the sun.

Hope you enjoyed the thermal baths Engels. How did your class react when you told them?

Glad I'm not the only one with a big tummy come the evening. I'm really trying hard to see the weight gain as a positive thing but right now I do feel a bit, well, fat Blush. I have been taking weekly photos but suddenly seem to have exploded!

Here's a mantra for us all;
"Say it again: It's not fat, it's not fat , it's not fat . At 16 weeks pregnant, FAT is a four-letter word, and you spends every minute of every day wondering if your body will ever return to its original shape. Banish the word "fat" from your vocabulary starting now. If you absolutely need to reference your size, memorize this scientifically correct synonym: maternal storage tissue."

Penguin13 · 23/06/2014 22:02

Good call Paranoid. It's a nice normal 17 week pregnant belly and it's not FAT. Just need to repeat a few hundred times. Ooh maternal storage tissue. I like this.

StrawbsAndCream · 24/06/2014 00:29

Ahh loving the bump pics paranoid, franks and penguin! I'll join in, looking massive and that dress is about the only thing I can wear at the mo.

Great 'I'm not fat' mantra..maternal storage tissue Grin

Penguin I don't see any fat there!! Just a lovely pregnant lady!

It's very nerve wracking going 'public' isn't it calling I bet your students are very pleased for you!

I fancy trying some pregnancy yoga paranoid but I doubt there's any classes around here, although it does sound a bit pointless considering your experience! Good luck for tomorrow, I hope there's not too much waiting. I have my 16 week appt tomorrow and I'm really really nervous about her finding the heartbeat.

regular that's so nice that you're feeling definite movements, I think I might have felt it a couple of times this evening, just wish I knew for sure!

Has anyone seen 'what to expect when you're expecting'? I watched it on my own tonight and really howled at the miscarriage scene, it's making me well up thinking about it, you don't realise how close to the surface it all still is!

The reason I'm up so late is that my lovely cat decided to poo in our bath! I had to call my Dad to come and clean it as I'm way too scared to go near cat poo and H is on nights. (I knew there was a reason we bought our house on the same street as my parents! I did pay him in bourbons though, love him)

Oh it's so late i'm usually fast asleep by now. Hope all you ladies have a lovely Tuesday x

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 24/06/2014 08:57

Ok, quick update, HB is there, but they want urine sample and I can't wee. On the other hand, I've just threw up for the 1st time! Shock

Penguin13 · 24/06/2014 10:17

Everyone is looking beautiful with their growing bumps. There really are growing babies in there! Love your dress Strawbs looks perfect for this hot weather we've been having.

Urgh to cat poo in the bath. I have been there. We temporarily lived in a rental and our cat got a little confused. It was so disgusting but I do remember being almost impressed that she'd at least chosen the right room!

Bit of a mixed morning for you Paranoid. Fab news about the heartbeat but being sick is no fun. Hopefully it was just a one off. I love how the wee sample pot is always the smallest target imaginable just in case handing a pot of your wee over to someone wasn't awkward enough!

Anyone else experiencing bad headaches? I've had a couple of real stinkers. The current one started on Sunday night and is still going strong. It's not bad enough to really stop me doing anything but it's quite painful nonetheless and making me feel sick too. I've been guzzling water like there's no tomorrow and even resorted to paracetamol which I hate doing and didn't touch it anyway but think I might just have to wait it out.

OP posts:
PresidentSpreadable · 24/06/2014 10:37

Oh poor you Paranoid, here's hoping it's a one off. Good stuff on the hb though.

Strawbs you look very elegant in that dress, lovely bump!

I am finding Uniqlo AIRism harem type trousers a lifesaver at the moment (www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/087183), lovely and cool and they have a wide yoga pants style waistband, so really comfortable. Nice and cheap too! Off on holiday next week and looking forward to wearing nowt but a sarong and bikini, I suspect I will relax so much my bump will double in size.

I've had a few throbby headaches Penguin, I don't normally get them apart from when I'm due on, so assume that they are hormone related. Sometimes paracetamol do the job, but sometimes only sleep and water help.

StrawbsAndCream · 24/06/2014 11:43

Very quick update from me, heartbeat found about 160bpm. Took student midwife ages to find it and then proper midwife took over and found it after about 30 seconds, they asked me if i was ok because my pulse was about 100! I think the midwife should have found it first and then the student have a go afterwards as I was panicking. for some reason I still don't feel reassured as I was in such a panic I think the feeling has stayed with me.. So silly!

Great news paranoid apart from being sick!

Thanks penguin and president not really feeling it! But it is a good dress, will hopefully find some more in Cardiff on Thursday after the scan.

Off to work I go, have a good day everyone!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 24/06/2014 12:13

Lovely bumps everyone Grin

strawbs great dress, and good news on HB, you can relax now. Now that I know what it's like, I might look into that Doppler thing.

president congrats, I saw your news on the other thread, you must be relieved.

I've gone wider public. No more hiding at work for me.

PresidentSpreadable · 24/06/2014 13:16

Very Paranoid! I still keep having to pinch myself, can't believe I've got this far and it's all going ok.

I've started telling people I know at work and it's lovely being congratulated. There's still a couple in the dark, but I'll be making it all official when I get back from my hols.

Penguin13 · 24/06/2014 14:16

Great news about the heartbeat Strawbs but sorry it was a stressful appointment. I know students have to learn but surely your welfare comes first!

CakesALot · 24/06/2014 16:15

Hi ladies! Hope you don't mind me popping back in? I dipped out for a few weeks - those of you with good memories will remember I was suffering spotting and bleeding in the early days, and I felt I needed to step away for a bit and just concentrate on me for a while. It did wonders and I'm pleased to say all is well.

I bled on and off from 5 weeks to 9 weeks in the end, with 3 substantial bleeds in that time. But the baby was absolutely fine all along! I went for my '12' week scan at what I thought was 13+5, first thing the sonographer said was, hmm, you're measuring a bit big! They put my dates forward 5 days, so now my due date is 30th November (hope that doesn't mean I'm kicked out! I will probably go overdue after all...!!)

So lovely to see so much good news and lovely lovely bump pics! I'm another one that seems to get bigger as the day goes on (17+2 today) and I'm so uncomfortable in my every day clothes! I've got my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow - my dates being a adjusted really screwed up my appointment schedule! 20 week scan 3 weeks tomorrow as well! Eek! Still can't believe I've made it this far!

PresidentSpreadable · 24/06/2014 16:37

Oh that's great news Cakes, what a worrying time it must have been for you, puts my moaning over nothing into perspective!

Penguin13 · 24/06/2014 18:25

That's brilliant news Cakes. Lovely to see you back here with news that all is well. What a worrying time you've had but your little bean is clearly grabbing on with both hands!

Excited to be going to pick up some maternity clothes handed down from my sis tonight. Slightly scared I'm going to be too big to fit into any of them though as I've always been the chubby sister! (There is nothing like having 2 willowy size 8 siblings to build your self-esteem as a teenager Grin)

OP posts:
ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 24/06/2014 19:10

welcome back cakes, what a dreadful time you've had, so pleased for you that all is going well now.

CallingAllEngels · 24/06/2014 21:09

Lovely to hear from you cakes and glad things are going well.

Love all the bump pics. I will get round to doing one soon I promise!

Thermal baths was postponed - my friend and colleague is overwhelmed with marking and reports so asked if we could postpone till next week after our deadline. I will definitely need it by then! Shitty and frustrating day at work (end of term madness). Just need to get through the next 2 weeks then the last week will be a breeze (no students in, just meetings and time for planning). And then 6 weeks of holiday...aahhhhhh!

My students were really happy for me but gutted that they won't have me next year as they don't want the teacher who will take them instead. Bloody typical teenagers who arse around the whole year and show no appreciation for you when they have you, then complain when you're gone!!! (that sounds harsh, but they have been my laziest class this year!).

I haven't done any ironing for a month and am slowly running out of things that fit me that are not crumpled Blush

strawbs I agree, that would worry me and I would expect the mw to do it first.

penguin I miss read one of your posts as "urge to cat poo in the bath" and started wondering why you would poo like a cat and why you would want to in your bath. Had to re-read a few times!

Had a real wobble this evening, sobbing on the drive home and on DH later. having stupid thoughts in my head about stillbirth or something happening to DH or DS. Just feeling emotional and tired. Exhaustion has hit me like a brick wall this past week (I can't believe I posted "feeling good" yesterday - I was bloody knackered!!!)

13+2

FranksBobot · 24/06/2014 21:22

Evening all!!

Welcome back Cakes so pleased all is well. I wouldn't worry about a nov date, unless I choose to opt for another c section there is no way this baby will be out before January (no baby in my family has every been on time!) yet I am refusing to leave this lovely bunch!

Oh my days My hormones are in full bloody swing today. 7:30am discover favourite top doesn't fit anymore. I cry for 20 mins.
8:45am I drop dd off at school, I cry the whole way home. (She has been going to school for 4 years)
11:30am meet my mum at train station, I start crying.
13:30 can't find fruit flakes in tesco, I cry again

Thankfully I must of run out tears after the tesco incident although I am feeling rather teary now.
Fecking hormones

CallingAllEngels · 24/06/2014 21:31

franks I wouldn't want to enjoy someone else's misery, but your post made me laugh Grin

FranksBobot · 24/06/2014 21:44

Be careful laughing Calling we are roughly the same stage remember!! It might happen to you next! I swear if it happens again tomorrow I'm going into hiding. DP thinks I've lost the plot.
