If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

Thanks for the welcome back, ladies!

Franks, you're not alone, I've been blubbing over all sorts and I'm not usually a crier! Yesterday DH told me he'd had a dream that we'd had a little girl and he was playing with her and she was laughing. Set me right off!

Penguin13 · 25/06/2014 09:54

Aw bless you Franks I chuckled in sympathy cause I know exactly what that feels like. Cakes that practically set me off. I am not made of stone! Unlike you I am a crier normally though. I love a good cathartic weep over a book or film.

At the risk of TMI, if there are any of you still suffering the dread constipation I can highly recommend making sure you drink loads of water in addition to all the fibre. I had been mainlining prunes but didn't realise that I hadn't been drinking enough too. I made a real effort to drink more than usual all day over the past couple of days mainly because of my headache and, without going into too much detail, it has made a big difference and I feel SO much better! My headache has gone too so I practically danced into work this morning Smile

As predicted the hand-me-downs from my sisters reminded me that I am not as skinny as my siblings but I did score a polka dot maternity tankini which I love and was worth the humiliation of realising I couldn't get most of the trousers past my thighs! Blush Seriously though. Non-mat jeans in size 12 and tops in size 8???? These are not maternity clothes!! I now have the perfect excuse to snaffle some new mat clothes of my own though Grin.

engels I hope you stay clear of imagining catastrophe scenarios, there're awful and not good for you.

I don't buy clothes that need ironing, I don't do ironing, but running out of clothes that fit nonetheless Smile dreading having to go shopping... But can't put it back much longer.

penguin how much do you drink? I estimate I get through 2.5 litres a day, all water except from the 1 glass of OJ in the morning. And still no luck, in fact considering toilet business, sorry I'm aware it's nearly lunchtime, I can safely assume I was either a goat or a rabbit in a former life.

Penguin13 · 25/06/2014 13:13

That must be really uncomfortable Covent. I probably don't drink more than 2.5l but I have taken to drinking plain hot water as I heard that is supposed to help. I ate a baked sweet potato yesterday which I'd forgotten about but could also be a contributing factor!

I've been an IBS sufferer on and off since I was a teenager so I know all about constipation and rabit poos unfortunately! I normally take Colpermin, which are mainly made from peppermint oil and are nice and gentle on your system - but you're not meant to take them in pregnancy I don't think. Lots of water helps for sure, and the odd cup of mint tea, especially if you can make it with fresh mint leaves, tastes so much nicer! But the midwife actually sorted me a prescription for lactulose today. She said its a nice gentle laxative apparently! It will sit in the bathroom cabinet until I really need it though!

In non-poo related news, midwife appointment went really well. Lovely strong heartbeat pumping away Smile. Still can't believe it sometimes!

regularbutpanickingabit · 25/06/2014 14:08

Welcome back cakes!!
Been feeling a bit paranoid the last few days and so tried out my Doppler (bought 10 years ago!) last night and finally found a racing heartbeat which was definitely not mine! That has made me feel a lot better.
Constipation is not fun at all. Oh the joys of the pg woman!

FranksBobot · 25/06/2014 14:40

Weetabix has been my miracle cure for constipation! 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening got me "moving" again in a couple of days.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 25/06/2014 20:40

Welcome back Cakes!

Great news on the doppler Regular, going to buy a new one (gave mine to charity shop the month before I got bfp, grrh)!

No constipation but still gassy here.

MrsFtn · 25/06/2014 21:07

I'm going to have to give the weetabix a try...Fruit and Fibre isn't doing it for me any more Sad. I do try to drink a lot of water but when work is busy it's hard. Glad I'm not the only one frustrated with the 'sheep poo' situation. DD said to me the other day "mummy you've poo'd a stone" (yes, I do have the indignity of having my toilet trips accompanied and examined by a 3 year old which isn't helping the constipation situation when I'm at home)

Loving all the bump pics. Who would believe we would all make it this far?! I got my 20 wk scan and consultant appt through the post today - 10th July - 2 weeks tomorrow eeeek!

Sorry to hear hormones are still getting the better of some of you. I seem to have done ok on the hormonal crying front so far but I remember getting it bad last time. Good to hear so many successful heartbeat stories with mw and dopplers. I still use mine every evening just to 'check in' on baby.

PresidentSpreadable · 26/06/2014 09:51

No constipation here either, regular as clockwork still, but with a slightly added sense of urgency.

I'm on about 2/2.5l of water with a lemon in it at work during the day, and a couple of cups of tea in the morning.

Off on holiday next week, looking forward to deserted little coves on a tiny Greek island, beautiful turquoise sea, and daydreaming about being a mum. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a holiday so much in my life! First consultants appointment is a couple of days after we get back.

CoventGarden75 · 26/06/2014 10:04

Thanks for the advice ladies, sorry to hear others are struggling too. frank I've been on weetabix since you mentioned it last week. I'm immune tu prunes and DP is getting me a repeat prescription of lactulose today, (stool softener more than a laxative) I guess I should have increased the dose but stupidly stuck to what GP had said. Anyway, enough of that Wink

president it sounds like an amazing holiday, enjoy every minute.

Now, that guy last night was hot. It was hard to resist, having regrets now because dreams don't count, right?

StrawbsAndCream · 26/06/2014 12:37

Congratulations, Strawbs! What beautiful pictures! Smile

CoventGarden75 · 26/06/2014 14:06

Wait a minute, i can't see pictures on the app, I guessed from memory of your bump pics Grin congratulations strawbs !!!!

MrsFtn · 26/06/2014 20:27

Congratulations on your blue one strawbs!

Penguin13 · 26/06/2014 20:56

Very excited to have bought my first maternity clothes today! It's amazing what a difference it makes getting some clothes that fit properly but accommodate the bump. Feel so much better about my shape now so I can highly recommend it. I cannot however recommend getting caught out in a summer dress yet again having been over-optimistic about the weather. Brrrrr.

Hope the weetabix works for those who are, ahem, in need! Having been all smug about my overhauled digestive system I have been quite uncomfortable today. Can't tell what is bloating and what is general stretching. Bought some rennie deflatine though which I think helped a bit. Hope your extra lactulose works for you Covent.

Penguin13 · 27/06/2014 09:11

I now have feelings verging on the evangelical for my new best friend, Rennie Deflatine. It won't help with constipation but that is normally accompanied by a certain amount of wind/bloating and, for me at least, it has been blimmin brilliant for relieving that. Now I only look like I swallowed half a watermelon Grin.

Congratulations Strawbs!

Has anyone done the nub theory test with their scan pics? I'd never heard of it until the other day, just wondered how accurate it was.

I'm still on meds, having some days where I don't get sick now but the nausea is still relentless. I also have the lovely new addition of heartburn, so then have to weigh up the odds of the gaviscon making me sick and which one would be worse. Great!

Feeling quite a bit of fluttering now too, it's quite reassuring knowing it is moving about in there!

Hope everyone is doing well xx

FranksBobot · 27/06/2014 17:05

Basgetti I've heard of the nub theory but can't for the life of me tell you what a nub is! I've even checked DD scan pics and can't see one on there either!

I've got headache from hell, had it all day and have an hours drive to look forward to this evening. DP has gone away for the weekend so I'm off to my parents.
