If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

Hi all, sorry for vanishing, I was admitted to hospital on Monday and got home about an hour ago!

Spent the last 2 days hooked up to a drip and getting IV anti emetics, I wasn't allowed home until I had no more ketones. I'm feeling better for now but if it gets so bad again I can refer myself directly back to the ward which is helpful.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

PresidentSpreadable · 09/07/2014 14:45

Glad you're back home basgetti, what a pain in the arse though.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get my belly ring removed Covent, I tried to do it myself a few weeks ago with pliers, but just ended up giving myself a blood blister. Ouch.

I always give samples at the hospital and so don't have to transport them anywhere. I brandish mine quite brazenly!

So, I saw one of the consultant's minions this morning, and apart from them running 80 minutes late it was all absolutely fine. No bollocking about my ridiculous BMI, sensible conversation about my likelihood of gd and pre-eclampsia, told I was fine to go back to midwife led if I wanted to.

I also told her that I really, really, did not want to be induced (which would be at 40 weeks due to my age), and that I would rather have an ELCS if I hadn't gone into labour naturally by then. To my surprise she was absolutely fine with that. The other bonus of them not letting me go over is that I'll have three weeks to recover before Christmas.

All in all, I'm feeling rather happy, although I forgot to ask if she'd listen to the hb for me, so another 12 days to wait until my scan. Boo.

Hope scans went ok today, is it Penguin's?

CoventGarden75 · 09/07/2014 16:44

basgetti you poor thing, it's not fun having to go to hospital, glad you're back home and feeling better and fx it lasts.

president ouch, that hurts! Why are you using pliers? I remember my initial ring being tough to remove but you should be able to pull it open by hand and remove the ball.

MrsFtn · 09/07/2014 20:17

Glad you are back in action basgetti.

All this talk of belly button rings is making me feel funny - especially when pliers are brought into the equation! DD told me yesterday that my belly button was 'broken'. Admittedly it does look a bit different to normal!

Thank you for making me realise I'm not a complete weirdo about the sample pot situation! Only one more sleep...scan at 9:30 and consultant at 10:15. president you have restored my faith in the consultant side of things. Glad you had a good and positive experience

Penguin13 · 09/07/2014 20:30

Covent your bump looks like lovely and neat to me.

Lovely to see you back here Basgetti. Sorry you had to stay in hospital but glad to hear you're feeling a bit better and can get things sorted quickly if they start to deteriorate again.

So glad your appointment today went well President. I hope that it helped to reassure you about being under consultant care.

My scan's not till next Mon and we have a family wedding this weekend so hopefully the time will go quick! Glad your appointments are in the am tomorrow Mrs so you won't be hanging around.

So to join in with Covent here's a photo of me looking a bit bumpy and getting a bit spendy in Debenhams at 19+1. Please excuse the ridiculous pose, someone once told me that putting your arm like that makes it look thinner and am now incapable of putting it any other way in photos!

Wow lots of messages, I need to check in more often!

Glad you are home basgetti, hospital is no fun.

I had my 16 week appointment today. Nearly ended up in tears before I even got in because I went to the wrong children's centre at first so had to leg it 10 mins in the car to another one, then realised I had forgotten my notes! However they were lovely so all good.

I too don't want induction or to be pressured about it so we discussed that and she suggested making me a consultant appt. I already have one booked so that's all ok. I said I want to wait til 14 days over instead of 12 this time, and I am not being induced until I have the gas and air by the bed (I was denied any pain relief other than paracetamol last time....however I made a formal complaint so they are being lovely this time!). Hopefully the consultant will agree so I can rest easy in my mind from then on and even if I go overdue I will know what is going to happen.

Only 7 more school days til the hols! I have decided to go on mat leave at October half term instead of early December so feeling like things are happening earlier iyswim.

DH is calling me for dinner, better go!

FranksBobot · 10/07/2014 08:29

Good luck at today's scan MrsFTN hope all is well and I'll be manically refreshing for updates!
It's a bit cold and miserable here today but good news is sports day has been cancelled. Not sure I could hack standing in a field all morning. DD is delighted too! She hates sports day. I have to visit the nurse for a blood test this morning then I am thinking of hibernating on the sofa with my duvet. Didn't sleep to fab last night. My stomach keeps getting in the way! (I'm normally a tummy sleeper)
Pic is of the offending stomach this morning at 16 weeks

MrsFtn · 10/07/2014 10:06

Well ladies I've just had my scan. It took 25 minutes and I am very pleased to announce that everything is absolutely fine and we are most definitely and unmistakably Team Blue Grin

Just waiting for consultant appt. now...

FranksBobot · 10/07/2014 10:12

Yay fantastic news Mrs woohoo for team blue!

CoventGarden75 · 10/07/2014 10:32

Brilliant news ftn congrats Smile

Penguin13 · 10/07/2014 10:36

That's brilliant news Mrs. Hope you have a good consultant appointment to round off the morning.

Where's my post? Confused

I was saying how lovely your bumps are and how great yoga was last night and boring you with all the details.

Penguin13 · 10/07/2014 12:34

Were you posting on your phone Covent? Sometimes mine deletes a post as I am posting it (very annoying). Glad that yoga was good - I have been doing a little from a DVD but it's not quite the same as going to a class I imagine.

Lovely news MrsFtn xx

CoventGarden75 · 10/07/2014 13:12

Yes I was on the app. Silly phone.

For me, nothing beats a class with a talented teacher, and I'm too lazy to follow a DVD Grin.

Can't wait for the weekend.

18+0

PresidentSpreadable · 10/07/2014 13:22

You all have such lovely bumps!

Yes, Penguin, I'm feeling a whole lot better about the consultant side of things. Even if I don't have GD I may stay under them rather than switching to the midwives.

Covent, I need pliers to try and force the ring apart enough for the ball to come out. It's a fairly small stainless steel ring though so tricky. It's been in for 21 years now and I'm a bit sad about having to take it out really, even though my midriff has not been fit for public consumption for a long time! It's part of me now.

Madly impatient to feel the baby move, I thought I felt some flutters on holiday, usually when I'd been in the sea, but not sure now.

CakesALot · 10/07/2014 13:43

Congratulations, mrs!!

FranksBobot · 10/07/2014 13:47

President Have you thought about getting a pregnancy bar so that the hole doesn't close up? I used one with DD pregnancy and I am again this time. I'm rather attached to my piercings.

Covent I'm also too lazy to follow a dvd! I would put it on and watch it whilst eating cake. I have invested in a swimming costume though so will attempt to use it once it arrives.

PresidentSpreadable · 10/07/2014 17:11

Yeah, I probably will get one Franks, I'm kind of assuming it won't heal up anyway though as it's so old.

Also, congratulations on your blue one Mrs!

MrsFtn · 10/07/2014 19:46

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I think that's 2-0 to team blue now isn't it? Is it strawbs who is having a boy too? consultant appt went well and I've been referred back to midwife led care. Just got to have a growth scan at 36 weeks.
Not long now til your scan penguin - I think you're next. We didn't find out the sex first time round either.

CakesALot · 10/07/2014 20:39

All sounds really positive, Mrs. Great news.

Finally been able to look at the bump pics (anyone else think MN need an app upgrade?!) and you all look lovely. Particularly loving that dress, Penguin! I will add my own bump at some point when I'm feeling brave enough! It's looking quite big today but I'm still at that 'is she pregnant or just been on a cake binge' stage! 19+4 today.

Just 6 sleeps until my scan. We are hoping to find out what we're having, just too curious! Majority of friends and family are guessing boy, including one friend who reckons she has a 100% track record guessing the sex of a baby! We shall see!

Hope everyone is keeping well Smile

CoventGarden75 · 10/07/2014 21:59

president i totally understand, i don't wear make up or much jewellery, but without my belly button thing, (which nobody ever sees), i feel like a part of me is missing. I've had it for more than 10 years now, however had to take it out for surgery, and after just a couple of day it had already started to close. I got a pregnancy bar as advised by franks.

Penguin13 · 10/07/2014 22:52

Wait....what? You actually have to do the DVD to get the benefit? I thought the whole point of workout DVDs was obtaining fitness by osmosis Grin. I haven't been very consistent at doing it as I'm also trying to fit in driving practice in the evenings as my test is looming. I still keep doing stupid mistakes and am wondering whether I should push it back although my DH keeps alternating between saying I will pass and helpfully telling me that failing once will help me pass the next time Hmm Any success stories from someone who thought they definitely wouldn't pass but did gratefully received! Should I just postpone till I think I'm more prepared? I can't help thinking that failing will only make me even more nervous the next time around.....

Not long now Cakes. I'm sure you have a lovely bump by the way so post away. I meanwhile actually have been on a cake binge Blush. Need to reign it in!

I was just thinking we haven't heard from Strawbs in a while. Hopefully she's just too busy eating fruitellas and feeling her wriggly baby to check in. And yes I think she is team blue.

Glad to hear your consultant appointment went well too Mrs I guess that means they think you are pretty low risk if they are referring you back to mw care which has to be a good sign.

If it helps I passed my test last year on the 3rd go. The nerves were the same every time-pretty horrendous! I thought I did ok the first 2 times but apparently racked up a major fault somewhere so failed them - still think they were really hard on me!. 3rd time I thought I made loads of silly mistakes but the examiner was chatting to me about holidays and last nights tv so I figured I was doing ok! I got 7 minors and passed. Best feeling ever! I'd say stick with your test date, you're probably far more ready than you think Smile

FranksBobot · 11/07/2014 16:46

Penguin I was adamant I was going to fail but my instructor refused to let me book a later test! I'd had plenty of lessons but still got nervous when it came to bay parking and reversing around a bend. My examiner was lovely and much like cakes we spent the whole test chatting about the weather and our plans for the rest of the day, I passed with 4 minors. Even had to bay park before leaving the test center!! I personally wouldn't postpone it as i think the build up is quite often worse than the actually test.
