If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

Good luck with your scans today Dotty and Basgetti. Really hope it's good news.

Fx for good news at scans today x

Dottydadoo · 09/05/2014 12:33

Unfortunately, the scan confirmed that I am in the process of miscarrying so I'm out of the running I'm afraid. That's 2 miscarriages in 6 months and yet I had absolutely no problems in my 2 pregnancies for my 2DCs. it's hard to get my head around. Although it's not really time for decisions now, I think I might have to count my blessings and decide not to put myself through this again.

Having this thread has been really great though - thank you, it's a comfort to know there are other people out there going through the same thing.

I hope that you all receive some better news and that those little beans are sticky! xx

Penguin13 · 09/05/2014 12:38

Dotty I'm so sorry about your heartbreaking news. I think you're right that for now you need to put decisions aside and focus on taking care of yourself. I'm so sorry you are going through this again Thanks

dotty I'm so sorry, take care of yourself Thanks

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 09/05/2014 14:06

So sorry for your loss Dotty. X

basgetti · 09/05/2014 14:32

I'm so sorry for your loss Dotty, take care Thanks

I had my scan this morning, it was linked by live feed to a lecture theatre of students while the consultant gave a running commentary of my ovaries and uterus which was an interesting experience! But definitely worth it to get given another scan. It is still measuring smaller than my dates but it has grown in proportion since last week and there was a clear heartbeat. And they gave me some pictures and paid my travel costs!

I'm still earlier than the stage I miscarriaged at last time so I doubt I'll be able to relax properly until the 12 week scan. But so far so good x

CallingAllEngels · 09/05/2014 14:32

I'm so sorry dotty. x

MrsFtn · 09/05/2014 14:55

Really sorry to hear your sad news dotty. You don't need to make any decisions one way or the other straight away. Wishing you all the best Thanks

Glad to hear of your experience basgetti. Sounds like you had an interesting scan! I'm further along than my 2 previous mcs but I definitely won't let myself believe it until the baby is born 12 week scan

Penguin13 · 09/05/2014 21:46

Glad you had a good scan Basgetti that must have been quite a weird but interesting experience and the main thing is that it was good news.

Starting to feel a bit more positive about the whole thing. After spotting and IVF nurse's advice, I went to walk in EPU yesterday, HB is 176, and measuring 24mm, so all is fine so far. 9+2 today.

Glad it's the weekend though, i'm exhausted and having a very lazy saturday, poor DP is doing everything well, it was already like that before pg hope everyone is doing ok

Penguin13 · 11/05/2014 13:27

Paranoid so glad that you are feeling more positive and that your scan showed everything was going well Smile. Hope you're having a relaxing weekend and getting some rest. It's lovely that your DP is being supportive and helping out.

I've been having a bit of a wobbly few days, despite having a positive scan one day shy of 9 weeks, as I don't feel pregnant at all. I think particularly because my mmc was discovered at my first scan at 13 weeks, I am getting more anxious as the 12 week scan approaches.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

CallingAllEngels · 11/05/2014 13:34

Good to hear paranoid . penguin I think it's perfactly natural to feel anxious.

I'm 7w today, so almost a week past both previous mcs.

Counting down till 8w scan in just over a week and keeping everything crossed.

PresidentSpreadable · 11/05/2014 18:41

Sorry to hear that you've been having a wobbly few days Penguin, me too. I know I should be grateful that I don't have many horrible symptoms, but I am also horribly worried about my 13wk scan. I cried all over MrPres about it on Friday.

Hang on in there, our positive early scans are a really positive sign.

basgetti · 11/05/2014 19:57

How is everyone doing? I've spent most of the weekend in bed, alternating between feeling dizzy and shaky, and getting sick. Symptoms have well and truly hit now! I should be pleased it's a good sign, but feeling too rough at the moment.

I have a GTT this week, due to previous GD which I've been told I'm almost certain to get again. In my last pregnancy the test was negative which was a surprise, but I later realised that this was because the pregnancy had stopped growing by that point. I'm going to be in the strange position next week of hoping for diabetes! x

Penguin13 · 11/05/2014 21:01

Oh Basgetti you poor thing, that sounds really miserable. I hope the symptoms ease up soon for you. Good luck for your GTT this week, what day will that be? I inferred from context that it is a test to see if you have GD but what does GTT stand for?

Good to know I'm not alone in feeling this way President but sorry you're feeling a bit wobbly too. You're right, the scans are a really positive sign. One day at a time, deep breaths, today we are pregnant!

Sorry its a glucose tolerance test, on Thursday. I have to drink lots of lucozade first thing in the morning, just hope I can keep it down!

FranksBobot · 11/05/2014 21:31

Evening all!

I've been trying to remain super positive since the scan on weds but it's sooo difficult. I'm now further along than last time but as it was mmc I was oblivious that the worst had happened. I still have horrendous sickness though so that's positive.
Can't believe I'm telling you this but I had a very very erotic dream involving a famous comedian last night!!! Woke-up all hot and bothered!! I remember having them with my dd but I'm sure they didn't start this early. Not that I'm complaining it was rather enjoyable!! I can't look/think about said comedian the same way now however!! Wink

MrsFtn · 12/05/2014 08:51

Franks I had loads of dreams like this in my first pregnancy and had a few very on in this pregnancy too! Mostly about famous people but some about people I know in RL which made it very hard to speak to them for a while!

basgetti sorry to hear you've been feeling rough. Hope you feel a bit better this week

President and Penguin I am exactly the same. I have not had a scan now since they said I was 5-6 weeks and the picture was really terrible - I had to take her word for it that the couple of flickering pixels I could see were in fact a heartbeat. You are both in a very strong position having had positive scans after 8 weeks. Having said that I have decided now not to pay for another scan. I realise that even if it is ok, it's not going to stop me fretting about the 12 week scan for very long

Is anyone else getting a bit superstitious about this pregnancy? I have noticed a couple of things - 1) I refuse to have a bath until after the 12 week scan - I really like a hot bath and even though I think the baths I had in my two failed pregnancies were just warm, I am worried I still had them too hot. Showers all the way for me this time! 2) I am taking Seven Seas vitamins this time - last two times I took Pregnacare and started bleeding a few days after starting them. The second time the bleeding didn't actually attribute to the mc as it had stopped and I had a positive scan at 6+3 before mmc was diagnosed at 7+2. I still have 2 boxes of Pregnacare but I am refusing to take them and will probably throw them out! Common sense tells me that thousands of women take Pregnacare and it is supposed to be the best but i can't bring myself to take them! 3) Much to DH's disappointment and even though I have had no bleeding this time I have told him we are not having sex until after the 12 week scan. Not sure if this is superstition or common sense but I'm sticking with it (reluctantly!)

Fx for a calm and uneventful week for all of us Smile

PresidentSpreadable · 12/05/2014 10:10

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Not feeling especially superstitious MrsFtn, although can't really bring myself to have penetrative sex until the scan at 13wks. We've dtd once since my bfp, but are still managing to get up to other things Wink (sorry for tmi)!

I'm not a big bath lover anyway, although I did have a warmish one yesterday which was lovely and relaxing.

The only thing I can't do is bring myself to wear the dress I had on when I had my erpc last year (local anaesthetic, so no hospital gown). I should probably give it to the charity shop.

I'm weighing up another scan maybe next week, I'm just not convinced anything is going on in there. Bit of an extravagance though, especially if we wind up paying £500 for the Harmony test as well. Bah.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 12/05/2014 12:50

Cramping and bleeding here, EPU should phone me in the next few days (no self referral). We're dropping like flies!

Spreadable, I'd charity shop the dress. X

Popcorn1979 · 12/05/2014 13:08

Love the dream chat - I know exactly what you mean! Have also never seen so many single magpies in my life....I thought I wasn't superstitious but that is obviously not true!

I have just had the date through for my 12 week scan which is next Friday....can't believe it is nearly here, this has been longest wait ever! X

Popcorn1979 · 12/05/2014 13:10

Drfunkes - sorry as posted before I saw your message. Sorry to hear about the cramping, hope you are ok x

PresidentSpreadable · 12/05/2014 13:41

Oh DrFunkes, sorry to hear that. No self referral sucks, could your GP get you in quicker?

MrsFtn · 12/05/2014 15:53

DrFunkes hope it's just a false alarm. I second what President said - maybe GP can get you in quicker?
