Happy new year ladies!

Sweet - mini and tiny! That's just too cute. I think you have your dating scan this coming week. Pls keep us posted.

I found the French children book hilarious actually. Not sure it is the serious parenting manual that some people take it to be.
Mr sea persuaded me it's time to move back to our room and I did last night and for the first time he got up to do the 4am feed. Yay!

sweetgrouch · 01/01/2015 13:23

Happy New Year everyone!

Sea - That sounds wonderful. You must feel so much better being in your own bed. Mr must have been delighted!

The scan is on the 7th so I have some time to wait. Mr can't go, so I asked a close friend to come with me.

Buzzybee123 · 02/01/2015 19:41

sweet the 7th is next Wednesday Grin it was her birthday so I usually take her out for dinner in Covent Garden which was lovely

sea glad you are back to sleeping in your bed and impressed he got up and did the 4am feed, its little breaks like that that make it easier for you, hope MIL has gone

free hope you are recovering well

We had a lovely quiet Christmas at home, BB went and saw the inlaws in the morning, I made a pretty good lunch for us and I didn't have to listen to any verbal diarrhoea :)

Ginestas · 03/01/2015 09:01

sweet I've just seen your tiny news! :) :) :) That's fabulous news! What a lovely surprise. I'm v jealous you never had to deal with AF, as mine has just come back. Almost 2 years with it was brilliant. What exciting times for you and your growing family.

sea hello! From about 4-8 months DH and I slept separately. We split the nights with baby G between us and it was a way of surviving and meaning we both got some sleep. Now baby g joins us both in our bed if having a bad night!

Hi to everyone else and hope you all had lovely christmasses

sweetgrouch · 07/01/2015 19:35

Hi everyone, I just got back from the scan. I got to see a heartbeat and lots of movement. Tiny is measuring 9 weeks 2 days and is due August 10.

It's been very quiet lately, I hope everyone is doing well.

seamermaid · 08/01/2015 10:10

Sweet. That's great news. I'm so happy for you. 9 weeks already. Wow. Fab news about the job too!

Gin nice to read you. Mr Gin sounds great. Tbh mr sea would never split nights with me as he just cannot do anything without full 8 or even 9 hours sleep. Plus he's got into this thing now where mini just won't finish his milk when he is feeding him so I end up doing all the feeds myself.

Buzz quiet Christmas sounds like the way to go.

Euro how are you? Did you move?

Hope everyone is well and having a good new year so far.

freedom2011 · 08/01/2015 17:44

Sweet so glad to read your tiny news. And the job.

buzz my recovery is going slowly. We've got a nanny who is super but I just want to recover and have mini free to myself. She had her vaccinations today and seems all right. Dr offered a patch to numb the pain of the shot and DH just laughed and said- it's an injection, it stings. That's life.

Buzzybee123 · 08/01/2015 22:35

sweet yay to wriggly babies, so how will your EDD work out with the new job :) I suppose you will go after in the Autumn which I think you said was the plan, is it 4 months mat leave.

free slowly but surely I suppose, glad the nanny is good, hopefully soon you will be able to get some quiet time with mini

sea As long as Mr S helps during the day, its tough in the night, Barry is the same about his sleep but also BB associates seeing him with getting up on the weekends

Well I am nearly at the end of Mat leave, back on Monday, I have been poached to a different division within my team for 3 months to cope with the winter pressure, it means I will be partly based around the corner from where I live :) then after that I will have my 3 months probationary period. I am looking forward to going back but dread leaving BB, we have another settling in period tomorrow, yesterday went well but she did cry right at the end.

sweetgrouch · 09/01/2015 00:45

buzz - how do you feel about going back? It's great that BB is settling in well. Mini has good and bad days with me leaving him at nursery, but he does always end up having nice days. The EDD will be ok, the new boss has 3 children and she understood that 3 months would be necessary to get myself sorted after birth.

free - that's amazing that the nanny is so good. I didn't even know about numbing patches to help with vaccines, they just jab here. I hope the recovery keeps moving forward, I understand it must be so hard when all you want is miniFree to yourself and your health back.

sea - mini used to refuse to let me give him bottles, Mr was stuck with all the feeds. The good thing is that around 5 months he started being able to hold the bottle himself and do them on his own.

gin - Mr G sounds great, splitting the nights for so long must have been tough for both of you. Mini also joins us now during rough nights, neither of us has the energy left to be up all night and work all day shudders at thoughts of tiny doing the same.

AFM everything is going slow but well. Mini was home sick today so I managed to book my scan for NT on the 27th. Otherwise, I am just trying to keep busy and get through the first trimester without too much fretting.

OP posts:
seamermaid · 09/01/2015 09:29

Free - I'm glad the nanny is good. I really hope you make a full and speedy recovery soon and you can spend as much time with your mini as possible.

Buzz - yes I'm looking forward to when mini can hold bottle and sit up.
New job close to home sounds great. I know it must be hard to leave bb but I'm sure she will love nursery in the long run. They all do. I will go back to work next month but will be leaving mini with his nanny who he loves thankfully.

Sweet - how do you feel so far? I know they say every pregnancy is different. Any sickness? Will you find out the gender or wait for a surprise?

Mini, mr sea and I are on holiday at the moment having flown 11 hours on a plane which was an experience. Holidays sure are different with a baby!

Buzzybee123 · 09/01/2015 12:55

sweet thats great that they are so understanding, a lot would not be sadly, hope mini gets better soon. BB did cry a bit today was easily distracted, she doesn't cry when I leave though and wasn't bothered about me coming back

sea back to work for you, yes I'm sure she will love it its just that transitional phase, you can by handles for bottles, they make it easier for them Wink I got mine from Born Free I think, so much easier just to give it to her and let her get on with it :)

sweetgrouch · 09/01/2015 16:11

sea - Enjoy the holiday! They are very different for me and Mr too, less lounging and more everyday work. How was mini on the flight? Were his ears ok? This pregnancy is about the same as the last, I have zero symptoms. The pregnancy I lost is the only one I had symptoms with.

buzz - That's amazing no tears when you leave, bb must feel very secure. I just figured if they weren't understanding, it was not the right work environment for me.

OP posts:
Buzzybee123 · 09/01/2015 20:48

sea oooh on your hols, yes it is very different, luckily BB slept in her pram so we could go out for dinner, then I just popped her into the cot when we got back, hope you have a lovely time

sweet I suppose I just think if that was the UK they might not be so understanding, you are obviously worth the wait and very talented :) I worry the tears might come so we shall see on Monday

sweetgrouch · 13/01/2015 23:13

How has the drop off been going for you buzz? I hope bb is enjoying her time with her new friends at nursery.

OP posts:
Buzzybee123 · 14/01/2015 14:44

sweet It has been ok, I make sure I say goodbye but to be honest she is more interested in breakfast then me, tomorrow will be a full day for her, she cried the firs day but didn't yesterday so we shall see how it goes :)

sweetgrouch · 14/01/2015 19:25

That's good, she's adjusting faster than mini did. Smile It was hard for me to leave him at first and it got much better with time.

We're in teething hell right now, two more teeth coming through on bottom, I hope they are out by the weekend so he is more comfortable.

OP posts:
Buzzybee123 · 18/01/2015 13:30

sweet sadly it didn't last, we had terrible nights followed by terrible days, its been an awful week, I just hope next week is better

sweetgrouch · 18/01/2015 14:39

buzz - I'm so sorry to hear that! Our first week was followed by two weeks of diarrhea for mini and a hospital visit. Hopefully next week is a better. It's so hard to go into work when you feel shattered from no sleep.

OP posts:
seamermaid · 20/01/2015 03:12

Hi buzz how's bb doing now? I'm really hope things have improved. As sweet said it must be so tiring if you have a bad night with bbc and to go into work the next day. I fear these days ahead for myself v soon. Confused

Sweet how's mini's teething? Have the teeth come through yet? I do hope mini gets relief soon. I think I have that to look forward to soon. Mini sea has been chewing madly on fingers lately and seems out if sorts. He's 14 weeks so I keep hoping teething isn't upon us yet.

Free how are you feeling? I hope you are back on your feet and doing as much with mini as you want.

Euro. Hope all is okay with you. Haven't seen you on here. Hope it's just moving that's been keeping you busy.

A bit hellish here now holiday is over. Mini completely out of sorts from flights and travel. The time difference hasn't helped. Thought a few hours difference would be ok but it seems even that is taking some time to readjust to. I think it will be a long time before I travel with mini sea again!

sweetgrouch · 24/01/2015 15:28

sea - sorry to hear mini is so out of sorts. It took minisweet a few days to get back into routine when we travelled with him at around the same age (6 hour time difference). It's so hard when everyone is tired from traveling.

Mini is still teething, his bottom teeth seem to take forever to push through - we can see them but they aren't out yet - poor him.

free - how are you feeling?

MuddyWellyNelly · 24/01/2015 19:37

Just thought I'd do another quick toe-dip in here Wink. Now at 13+4 but still don't feel like there is ever going to be a baby in my life. So far been blessed with an easy pregnancy, which only makes me worry about what traumas are around the corner.

Never mind, I love reading about your real-life babies and will continue to lurk/de-lurk for a little while longer. Think I've spoken to most of you on FB recently but Free hope you are starting to feel a little bit better and are getting some more quality time with your LO.

WittgensteinsBunny · 25/01/2015 15:15

Quick phone post. Sorry for being awol! Big bump, hectic toddler, continuing house / garden project and life in general has just eaten my time

Free I really hope you have made a full recovery. I can't imagine what you have been through - emotionally and physically. Glad you have a fab nanny. Will you keep her on once you have recovered? How are you now otherwise?

Sweet I am so delighted about your news! Another mini! Tis amazing. And your new job sounds very, very exciting too. Congrats on all fronts!

Buzz I'm glad bb is settling into nursery well and work is okay for you too. Have all the in law issues been resolved now? I find mine a minefield and they're nice enough, just different iykwim?

Sea wow, your holiday pics on the other place are very Envy-making and your little one is super-gorgeous! I hope that you also get back to work smoothly. Although it sound like mini has settled well with his Nanny already.

Euro hope work is going swimmingly. Mini euro looks fab, I love your pics of her. Your new house is lovely too. I think you might be near my parents.

gin Im with you on the co-sleeping. Mini bunny is still in with us BUT finally sleeping through fist pump

nelly lovely to see you here. Lovely to hear your continuing good news. I totally get the worry though. Always here to paw hold.

I'm 31 + 4, Ms is back, which is the pits. Life is lovely but hectic and emotional. I'm terrified and excited in equal measures about having another. My hormones are all over the place and I'm huge. But it's all good! Big hugs all round, xxx

sweetgrouch · 13/02/2015 01:37

Free - it's been a while, how are you feeling?

Bunny - you must be almost to term now, how are you doing? How are you preparing mini for tiny?

Nelly - happy to see you here.

I have been buried under paperwork lately, hopefully I will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon. Otherwise everything is good in the grouch household. Mini is getting funnier by the day, he has started playing what we think are jokes lately it is quite fun.
