Happy Birthday Seven Cake

I am so jealous White. I can feel the kicks myself, but cant see them yet and DH is upset as he wants to be able to feel himself!

Tea Chocolate is definately fruit. In fact, its the only fruit I am eating at the moment cos I feel sickly at the thought of the real stuff!

waffles1990 · 03/04/2014 19:12

hello all Smile

Another one feeling the kicks here!!! love it. I didn't think I'd be feeling them for a couple of weeks because it's my first (17+4) but she's proving me wrong, so much so that last night lying watching tv, she was even performing for Daddy - he had his hand on my tummy and she did a couple of almighty kicks that he felt!!! Going to have black and blue insides when she's bigger :S

The new job at Liverpool Women's Neonatal is going well - hard getting up at 5.30am and the long days (7.15-7.45) are pretty tiring but I really like it there. Strange looking round at the really prem babies (25 weeks) thinking it's not long until my baby is that size!

I've been approached by channel 5 on one of the shifts, as they're doing a documentary on special care babies there - and they asked if they could film a bit on me and what it's like to be a new starter on the unit!!! I said I would have a think about it Blush they're filming over the next couple of months...

Bananapickle · 03/04/2014 20:05

It's amazing that some of you can actually see the kicks. I think I've felt some flutters but that was a couple of weeks ago. I'm 16+2 and it's my second. However with my first my placenta was right across my front and I hardly felt her all the way to the end :-( My DH never got to feel or see her before she was born.
I was hoping it was going to be different this time but I'm starting to think it isn't. We shall see, maybe I just don't have a massive kicker...

lilone1234 · 03/04/2014 21:31

Awww seeing kicks, I can't wait! I can't wait for definite movement either, rather than just "ooh, what was that? Or did I just imagine it?" lol.

If chocolate were a fruit that would just be amaaaazing! I'm finding it very hard to have proper meals, just want quick and easy carbs all the time. The best I probably do is fruit salads at lunch...

Just shouted at DP for leaving the toilet seat up. Whoops.

isitme1 · 04/04/2014 08:26

Waffles glad the new job is going well

I can also feel kicks but not see them as yet.
Thisis pregnancy no.3 and ive never had pain during or after dtd. :( such a shame. Puts me off a bit. ....

Oxlady · 04/04/2014 08:53

I am so jealous of those of you who can already feel/see kicks!

whiteblossom · 04/04/2014 10:03

I didn't see any kicks this morning but I didn't feel any either. My tummy this morning is a completely different shape. (TMI alert-Though ive had three poo's since yesterday am!!) Yesterdays pear shape belly is a nice firm but normal baby bump. Its weird how it changes shape.

two weeks to half way! Im so glad its the school hols now, Im shattered! Im really excited about the 20 week scan, I feel as if it somehow makes it super real and I can start properly getting things ready. Smile

Does anyone else find their uterus goes rock hard after dtd and sticks up, it goes really defined. I remember it going tight/hard during last pg though.

have a great day everyone, its Friday! yay

Teabiscuits · 04/04/2014 10:33

Just to jump on the bandwagon, hubby and I saw a little movement this morning. I thought I saw it in the bath last night but decided I must have imagined it. Then felt lots of kicks this morning so thought I'd get DH to look too. Both definitely saw a ripple as baby moved over!
I am 17+6. My advice to see them it to lie on the floor with a cushion under your bum, then be patient!

Happy Friday everyone Grin.

Teabiscuits · 04/04/2014 10:35

white the tight womb sounds like a Braxton Hicks to me. I think you can get them quite early, especially if it's not first baby. x

zanashar · 04/04/2014 10:43

isitme1 · 04/04/2014 11:17

Blossom dtd (well doing it right lol) causes uterus to contract which doesn't hurt the baby at all and is like bh.
Starting to nest Grin
we live in an awkward place. Parents empty house. Well not so empty as in all their junk is here amd at first we weren't 'allowed' to chuck it hoarders but now we can and apparently its all up to us. Which means we have to pay for a skip or something to shift their shit.
Dh has 1 day off a week which we use as family shopping day (food shopping and other bits and bobs) so dad has offered filling his van up and going to the skip. All fair if they both dh and dad had time to do it.

Dazedconfused · 04/04/2014 12:48

ooh seeing kicks. i cannot wait for that. I just felt a weird thing kind of like trapped wind and a fluttery tummy and don't know if that was anything is still quite early (am just 16 weeks mw appt next wed) and think am just being hopeful!

hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying their kicks and scans etc xxx

TheOnlySeven · 04/04/2014 13:31

Hi zanasher.

Not seeing any movements here but I'm larger so wouldn't expect to yet. I'm still only feeling the odd flutter despite being DC4.

whiteblossom · 04/04/2014 14:18

is waffles about? Ive had a 'funny turn' my eye sight went strange, I didn't feel like I was going to pass out so much but I just coulnt see properly, then I realised it was my right eye.

I rang to mw who said to ring triage straight away, I realised on the phone to them that my memory was questionable- she asked my address which I could give but I wasn't sure it was current!! I was told to see my GP who I am seeing in an hour. Its scared the hell out of me!

rockin20s · 04/04/2014 14:40

white try to stay calm, it might just be low blood pressure. I have fainted in the past (before getting pregnant) and my eye sight was always the first thing to go. i have suffered from low blood pressure for a long time. lowest in my pregnancy was 95/55. i checked mine today (16 weeks) and its 105/65.

i think i have felt flutters today! i was sure i felt something yesterday but if it was movement then it must have been a very strong kick as these flutters are much lighter then what i felt yesterday

waffles1990 · 04/04/2014 15:59

whiteblossom I'm here :) poor you!!

I agree with rockin, sounds like low BP - it happened to me the other day, stood doing my makeup in bathroom mirror and then vision started to go very grainy and my surroundings began to look like tv static!!! I knew it was prob low bp so I went and lay down n popped my legs up pronto lol

What were you doin at the time it happened?

Perhaps the panic and adrenaline was foggying your mind when speaking to the triage midwife.

Let us know what they say but I'm sure you'll be ok Smile

bugoven · 04/04/2014 16:51

Hello ladies =)

So relieved to have two weeks off work to start getting things ready for our little boy to arrive before I am too huge to move. I am massive! I have made no efforts to hide him this week and the comments have been incredible. Never thought I'd be pleased to have my tummy referred to as "lovely and round". Ha ha.

Have been feeling plenty of movement but nothing I could say was definite kicks. I find I can tell where baby is sitting especially when I'm in bed as there is a firmer and more protruding bit where he is.

Love my bump so much even though I am now nearly as big as I had hoped/intended to be by the end and am not even half way. Oh well!

whiteblossom · 04/04/2014 17:34

ROCKIN & WAFFLES thanks so much for your replies, I managed to read them on my phone in the gp's waiting room, they made me feel some what calmer! I tried to reply but couldn't manage it on mobile.

GP tested BP (low but perfectly fine)/wee/heart/eyes/oxygen levels, basically gave me a good going over- all came back fine. GP cant say for sure what it was but suspects migraine or because I was kneeling down for 25 mins combined with pg perhaps its messed with blood flow or I simply nearly passed out, so take your pick! either way he said if it happens again to go to A&E, he dosent think its anything to do with the baby/pg. Baby still moving after so Im happy about that. It did give me a real scare though.

Ive now also been told NOT to have the B12 injection and the hospital will monitor at 20 weeks....

Ive been left with a mild headache so an early night for me and a lie me thinks!

thanks again rockin and waffles xx

isitme1 · 04/04/2014 17:51

Glad all is well blossom x

lilone1234 · 04/04/2014 19:17

That sounds scary blossom, glad you're ok!

Teabiscuits · 04/04/2014 19:28

whiteblossom glad all is ok. It's scary when something like that happens, early night and a lie in sound just like what's needed. X

topmammy · 04/04/2014 19:53

Glad you're ok whiteblossom! :)

Well I decided after getting comments from people at work about how big my bump is for my weeks pg I'd get my mum to check me since she's a midwife n all! She measured me and apparently I'm just fine. So phew! I'm just a bit short waisted, not got a very long back so I think that's why my bump is quite big already, just not as much room in there lol.

mamamoomin2 · 04/04/2014 21:37

Hi all! New to this thread but am due 2nd Sept. Not been able to read all but will try and catch up...

So am 18 weeks and thought id be more bumpy. I am however fat and bloaty with a small hard lying down bump starting to appear. I already have a 2yr old dd and paid too much attention to the "you'll show early with no. 2" comments. Well if showing is weak tummy muscles and not being as regular as I used to!

Looking forward to the chats and story sharing over the next number of months.

lilone1234 · 04/04/2014 22:57

Good evening ladies. A question for those of you that are already feeling movement. Where abouts are you feeling it? At both 12 week scan and 16 week appt when checking baby's heartbeat they were concentrating on bottom right of belly but just felt some little thumps (best way I can describe it) on the left side of my belly. Is it possible baby has moved or is it more likely just a muscle twitch??
