Decided...

Booked for tomorrow afternoon Grin

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 18:15

Well done Chilly, good luck. Fx

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 19:25

That's good chilly :) good luck.

I'm hoping they use my other arm for my blood test tomorrow. She's made a terrible mess of my left arm :(

Knottyknitter · 01/05/2014 19:46

Took the plunge and told mum and dad granny and grandad the big news!

They are thrilled, which makes how much I felt like a naughty 14 year old seem a bit ott!

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 20:12

That's great knotty :)

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 20:22

I'm having to tell my Mom and Dad great big whopping lies right now and I feel terrible. I hope they forgive me when I eventual break the news. I just want to be armed with all the information before they panic.
Job 1 - go to GP and get referral - Done
Job 2 - see eye consultant - tomorrow
Job 3 - go to consultant antenatal appointment - waiting for contact
Job 4 - have scan - 5 weeks to wait!!!!

Then I can spill my guts!

Im so jealous you've told yours knotty. I'm going to be so relieved when I can.

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 20:29

Urgh! Just realised we're going out for a curry tomorrow night for DBro's bday and I usually have a pint! Going to look sus and I'm prob going to fall asleep and the table and then suffer the most horrendous indigestion! aren't I just full of the joys Oh and more lies!

Littlebear81 · 01/05/2014 20:35

Don't stress Treacle I'm sure everything will be fine.

Fancy great to see you on here and I particularly like your entrance. It's only been 3 weeks since my BFP and already it feels more real. You'll feel like an old hand when a few more come across in shock of their BFPs!

I've got a hen do Saturday which I'm driving to so will probably get some knowing looks off friends. I'm good friends with the hen and a couple of others but don't know quite a few so don't plan on telling them. Luckily another girl will be driving as she doesn't drink and it's not too big a night but I still think they'll suspect. Just hoping I don't get too quizzed by them when they've had a few!

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 20:39

Oh no! It's a busy month for us this month. We have BIL's house warming on Sunday, the sat after its his cousins bday and it's a big night out. Then my bday the week after which is normally another big night out.
Don't know what I'll tell everyone!

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 20:45

I'm honestly considering just not going to a few things we have coming up, I feel fat, I'm a useless and guilty liar and I'm going to get pulled up on the alcohol thing. I've already been avoiding talking to people. I'll have no friends left by 12wks!

Littlebear81 · 01/05/2014 20:57

I know what you mean! Luckily I'm the only one going who lives where I do so would have spent £50 on a taxi. It's only been planned for a couple of weeks so going for the 'couldn't afford the cab so easier to drive' excuse. Not the first time I've driven on nights out with them but I'm sure friends will tell me I could have stayed at theirs!

sazzlehopes · 01/05/2014 21:00

Ladies! I found saying you had a hangover was the best way of avoiding drinking!
Also I'm still getting ewcm even now and period like cramps so try not to worry too much.

poly I think I heard you shouldn't get your eyes tested when preggo as it can change your eyes! not bad or anything! just different. But I could of course be talking nonsense!!!

treacle I hope all is well with your next bloods and you can relax a little

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:18

Hi Sazzle how are you? That is what I was told in my first pg when I was complaining that I had blurred vision and now I am partially sighted as a result. I'm under the care if the eye hospital and most def have to have digital retinal photography and a cat scan done tomorrow and probably every couple of weeks from now on. You are right though, you can have some normal changes in early pg. just mine wasn't normal lucky me and by the time I could get anyone to listen to me a lot of damage had already been done and I lived in fear my whole pg that I was never going to see my baby's face. Luckily I did!

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:19

Sorry if that came over as a rant - it most certainly wasn't meant to Smile

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 21:25

I know what you mean on the other friends front poly!

Thank sazzle :) Guessing I won't know the results til Tuesday but at least it's being done.

Hope you're ok :)

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 21:25

Oh and poly, that all sounds terrible with your eyes. I'm glad they are taking care of you this time!

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:38

Thanks Treacle. I've learnt my lesson about being fobbed off by the nhs. If you have any problem just shout and stamp your feet until someone listens! Angry

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2014 22:04

Haha sounds good to me!!!
If they try and take my blood from the same arm tomorrow I shall be doing that.

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 22:13

Lol Treacle and don't let them try to take you BP from the same arm afterwards! Disaster! They always try to do stupid things like that at my surgery.

I had to have a routine blood test in oct, nurse had done my BP which was v low, then tried to take my blood. I told her I felt faint and she said "just look the other way" I said "no, I'm actually going to faint" she carried on anyway and BANG! Out cold on the floor! 3 nurses and 2 drs later I'm strapped to an ECG having a heart trace! Stupid cow, my BP was LOW! Don't remove more blood from my system! I was fuming!

I am ranty tonight! And that is just one of many storied of the complete stupidity I have faced care of the nhs!

MademoiselleG · 01/05/2014 22:31

Eek Poly, that doesn't sound like a great experience at all! I guess you can't / don't want to change surgeries?
My new doc is pretty good in terms of listening, but mostly just whips out the prescription pad for antibiotics.
Just been looking through pictures of previous pregnancy: I'd had a (scary) scan this time next week, when they couldn't see much and told us it was 'too small' according to my dates. Didn't matter how often I repeated my 'dates' were irrelevant as I'd been taking the pill (rather carelessly, I hasten to add)...2 weeks later at 8+5, we saw dd's beautiful little flicker if a heartbeat and she's now 2 yrs+!

Symptoms: terrible sleep, wide awake really early every morning, per smells of popcorn (!!) and I'm SO thirsty! Oh and terrible bloating and constipation. Any good remedies? I already look about 3-4 months pg purely because if bloating. Aargh!

MademoiselleG · 01/05/2014 22:32

*PEE not per. Urgh.

Knottyknitter · 02/05/2014 09:45

mademoiselle try kiwi juice. Better than prune juice by far and tastes nicer. Gets prescribed in NZ because it's so good for constipation. Not sure about the bloating though.

I'm feeling particularly fat & frumpy so going to take advantage of day off to go shoe shopping. (Should fit for a good while)

Have also developed a really sore left boob! Properly painful when I breathe right out?!? Not impressed but may have a look at bras while I'm out in the hope it settles a bit.

Zermatt · 02/05/2014 12:33

Just got back from GP's, she was a bit less rushed this time and able to go through in more detail the private vs public system, and has given me a referral form for both so we can decide in next week which to go for. Got all my test results back (they test for everything here)! All good except a vitamin d deficiency so need to take an additional supplement. The nausea reached a new level today, actually thought I might vomit all over my boss in our one on one meeting, at least it would have been a novel way to announce my news :)

Starbright24 · 02/05/2014 12:43

Haha zermat but poor you. I'm not sleeping either. I have woken all this week at 4 am and then not been able to get to sleep. Makes me really grumpy in work. Poor kids as I take ot out on them.
I'm having the opposite problem to constipation and am having to go to the toilet a lot but having read a bit, I am sure that will change.
I could smell popcorn loads last night - but it wasn't my pee lol
It's the firs

Starbright24 · 02/05/2014 12:44

Stoopid thing wasn't working then - didn't do a test for the first time today and now paranoid - can't wait to get home and poas.
