drizz I have the 16 weeks mw appointment on Monday. If she can't find the heartbeat I can see myself booking a scan as I can't make it through another 4 weeks of not knowing if everything is ok.

The period pains have largely gone off now. They were very different to the stretchy pains I have had at other times and were coming in waves, hence the menkul.

for bugs. You're a day nearer to the scan now.

SinkyMalinks · 13/03/2014 18:30

Much love bugs. It's a tough time. Look after yourself.

Ahem.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 14/03/2014 06:58

Monday is really close, euro! And she should find the heart, altho it may take a few minutes. Do request extra monitoring if you need! I had my 20-week scan at 19, which made the gap a little smaller...

Hold on, bugs! No way to know now! Do what you need, re plan B, and deleting us all.

We had a scary episode last night. I came home from a brief walk with a lot of pain, couldn't sit or stand or anything. The pain was continuous and in the upper womble regions, but I was not dealing and scared. SB called the midwifes and apparently you can get womble cramps (like calf cramps) round the 28 week point, due to the growth spurt, which I did notice... The remedy was a warm shower, paracetamol and to bed with a hot water bottle. It's still achy but nowhere near as bad. I ha no idea this could happen and not mean prem birth so I thought I would share with the other June-differs!

eurochick · 14/03/2014 11:09

That does sound scary drizz. I'm glad it was nothing to worry about.

SinkyMalinks · 14/03/2014 11:50

How are all today? Not long to Monday now Euro. Any progress Merk?

Seen midwife. Denied sweep as not yet 40weeks. Policy apparently. Damn it. Back next thurs for sweep and to book induction.

I am fully engaged though, so all the fanjo pains have done something. Anyone want to share anacdotes about being fully engaged and promptly going into labour? (Please spare me the "fully engaged for weeks" stories!)

maamalady · 14/03/2014 13:17

Sounds hopeful, sinks :)

Glad you're okay, driz, that sounds very scary.

I've had a nice week with my parents visiting and having a trip to London for my dad's birthday. However I think it rather took something out of me, as yesterday I slept for a good sixteen hours or so and felt dreadful. In the last 24 hours I've eaten two bowls of shreddies and a slice of toast - not ideal, really. I'm starting to feel a bit more normal now, though, so will have lunch and see how I go...

What will you be then bugs? 8+? Will still be reassuring I'd have thought, it seems to be more the 6-7 week scans that have an element of doubt, no? (Happy to be corrected, as you all know I was just a barren rather than a mc-er so haven't had to endure scan after scan)

Will be fingers and eyes crossed for you and euro. My legs, however, will be spread as wide as they'll bloody go...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 14/03/2014 13:59

I called the midwife and cried on her, as I was still a bit panicked. I was allowed to come in for a quick check, Lembie is growing according to schedule, his heart was beating away and my pains may be continuing due to the awsomeness of my belly muscles that are being wrenched apart. Midwife was particularly understanding abput my flap as her daughter had an IVF baby.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 14/03/2014 14:00

I am crossing everything for both bugs and euro on Monday!

eurochick · 14/03/2014 14:03

sinks it sounds like everything is going in the right direction! Not long to go now. :)

I understand about the legs and I am sure that crossed other extremeties will be enough!

drizz I'm glad you got some reassurance. But ouch to the muscles being wrenched apart!

FrankelInFoal · 14/03/2014 14:20

Hello all, quick pitstop from me to say we're still here. Things are mostly good with us, just a few hormonal and feed-related wobbles. Elizabeth had lost 11.5% of her body weight when checked over by the midwife yesterday, which is almost the maximum they consider healthy in this NHS area. So I got quite stressed that I was getting her feeding wrong and we had quite a lot of tears from both of us yesterday evening.

However midwife came again today and she's put nearly 30gms back on in less than 24 hours, so they are happier and checking her again tomorrow to make sure it's gong in the right direction.

Will catch up on everyone's posts now, but for the time being did you know we can now do photos?!

FrankelInFoal · 14/03/2014 14:28

This morning

Easter is approaching, and the PESH are laying all over the place!
KatAndKit · 14/03/2014 14:52

Awwww squee!! So beautiful! Glad the weight is on the way up, sounds like you are doing a brilliant job.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2014 15:04

Frank she is gorgeous! Wow

SinkyMalinks · 14/03/2014 16:09

She's lovely Frank. Well done. And tears, I understand, are pretty much inevitable in the first few weeks, whether everything goes textbook smoothly or not. And well done on Elizabeth's weight gain - good work from you and her!

MyNameIsWinkly · 14/03/2014 18:46

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly frank. Almost the healthy maximum = still healthy, as I read it, and well done Elizabeth (and you) on her gain. Yes to tears being normal, apparently days 3 & 4 are the worst when hormone levels crash. Hope HWHNN is looking after you both. And she is a beauty :)

driz glad everything is ok and glad I don't have any stomach muscles to speak of Must have been scary. Has the pain settled any?

bugs hope you have a nice busy weekend to go. Monday isn't too far away. Here for hand holding. euro as well. I shall keep my fingers and toes crossed for you both.

draf hope you managed some rest and some decent lunch!

sinks fully engaged sounds hopeful. I'm willing him out of you sooner rather than later. Can you bath in clary sage oil? Apparently that can help get things started. (Everyone loves a good old wives' tale.)

merk hope you're well, and that you're relatively comfortable.

dor hope you get some rest over the weekend and that things aren't as bleak as they were the other day.

SinkyMalinks · 14/03/2014 19:18

I ate a whole pineapple yesterday. (Well, the flesh. I passed on skin and leaves)

PESH. I beg of you. Don't be so foolish. Envy

FrankelInFoal · 14/03/2014 19:45

Aww Sinks, I got as far as buying a pineapple but never had a chance to eat it. I was taking the Raspberry Leaf Tea capsules for a few weeks and whilst I've no proof it helped me, some of the reported effects include shortened labour (6hr05min according to my notes!) and beneficial to milk supply (my milk came in on day 4 and I've been dropping ever since Blush)

maamalady · 14/03/2014 19:47

Oh dear, sinks, have you dissolved your insides?

Glad to hear you and E are doing alright, Frank, tears notwithstanding :)

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 14/03/2014 21:29

Apparently it is the core of the pineapple that makes the difference. Allegedly.

I would just like to tell everyone that tonight I will go to bed not wearing a bra. I think this is the first time I have gone bra-less in about 15 months. It's very freeing.

SinkyMalinks · 14/03/2014 21:44

I'm ok. I just don't think I'll ever be able to face pineapple again. And yet there is another in my fridge staring at me

Am also on the raspberry leaf capsules frank. Every little helps...

FriendofDorothy · 14/03/2014 21:50

I took raspberry leaf tea capsules. I think they say that it is meant to tone your uterus or something or other.

My uterus was the only toned thing about me I think because The Little Mister was evacuated rather speedily. The midwife described it as a textbook spontaneous birth. Whatever that it.

SinkyMalinks · 14/03/2014 21:53

Sounds good dor!

Well done on going bra less btw- liberating.

maamalady · 15/03/2014 06:21

Starting the night-bra thing is not something I'm looking forward to

In happier news - the formula one season starts today! Good stuff so far, roll on Q2... Grin
