Aww, poor kitty :( Here's hoping it turns out not to be so serious, or that's it's treatable if it is

Hope all goes well at boob school, Frank, sounds like it could be really helpful.

We got a letter from the NCT today (classes start in a fortnight, holy shit) - it basically is just a sheet of paper to write questions on. It's rather adorable, really, the thought that we could afford the classes but not have the means to record any questions we might have...

MWs, HV, paediatrician and bf counsellors all repeatedly told me L didn't have tongue tie, until at 11 weeks we were seen by a specialist and found he did. I would insist on a referral.

eurochick · 17/03/2014 20:39

Oh no bugs. Poor kitty. I hope she will surprise you. x

I find it amazing that tongue tie isn't checked for routinely. It seems so common and can make bf so hard.

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/03/2014 20:43

Sorry about your cat bugs. Such a shit thing, with such a young kitty, and especially when you should be having a fantastic day :(

As for me, I'm off. I luffs you all but I don't think the ESH freds (etc) are the place for me. I'll still be on MN (tho under a namechange), and I'll be on t'other place if anyone wants to say hi.

Goodbye and good luck Flowers

Fingers crossed bugs.

SinkyMalinks · 17/03/2014 21:26

I'll give my boy an extra hard stroke tonight bugs and try not to get too annoyed when he comes for food cuddles at 3am. Poor girl.

Bugs, I really hope cat is improving, you really deserve some untainted good news. Sinky cat has shown his support by vomiting all over the living room carpet. At least that's how I'm choosing to interpret it.

So. EDD is here. And so am I and bump. I have run out of old wives takes, so I'm just going to camp out in John Lewis' for the forseable to see if I can at least get the fabled "waters breaking bonus"

FriendofDorothy · 18/03/2014 08:35

Good luck sinks.

Anyone know what happened to winks? I am worried about her :(

SinkyMalinks · 18/03/2014 08:45

Fanks. Sleeping has hit an all time low. GHJ, bless him, is refusing to decamp to the spare room and so is also knackered. I think I'd prefer he was able to work and be fresh for bumps arrival...

KatAndKit · 18/03/2014 08:56

No idea dor. She seems to have left group on Facebook too. I hope everything is ok

Great news about cat! Do they have any idea what caused it? Is this what antifreeze/lillies do? Sinky cat is tearing around the house for no good reason. I've left him peering out from his vantage point under the bath (after he's pulled the side off..)

If I can get free stuff from selfridges, I'll be quite happy to alternate between the 2..

Hurrah for fighter kitty! I'm imagining her a bit like this:

blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/pulp/2009/07/rabid_kitten_ricky_von_welch_broward_sheriff.php

I'm worried about winks. It was all rather sudden. I've seen this happen before but usually after someone is attacked or falls out with another poster. This one came completely out of the blue as far as I can tell.

SinkyMalinks · 18/03/2014 11:23

That's sort of what I meant bugs- I thought antifreeze was pretty much game over once the kidneys failed. Very glad that's not the case for your cat.

I'm also worried about winks. I've not seen any badness, but only tend to hang out here. Hopefully she just needs some head space. Given she's done and dusted the 20 week scan, hopefully there's no problem with her little girl.

I have done shopping with no fluid leakage. Very disappointing. I am now driving an hour to see a friend. I have my notes but no bag. And, as my mum has pointed out, no towel for my seat should my waters go. I'm trying to make circumstances v inconvenient should I go into labour. That's got to get things going, right?

maamalady · 18/03/2014 11:33

That's exactly what I thought, euro. I don't go on the BESH freds any more - there hasn't been anything going on there, has there? It's a complete surprise.

The thing with antifreeze is it binds beautifully with alcohol dehydrogenase, if I remember correctly, and then the products of the chemical breakdown include hydrogen peroxide, I think - not fun. If you catch anything drinking it, saturating the enzyme with alcohol (vodka is nice and simple) is the best thing you can do. Obviously if they're not caught in the act you don't know what's wrong until that remedy is no longer helpful, though. Could your cat have got into someone's house and brushed up against cut lilies, bugs? It's one of the reasons I'm really grateful my cats are decrepit and barely go anywhere any more - much less worry!

Inconvenience is bound to work, sinks. Good luck!

Sinks I am also trying all the tempting fate scenarios I can. I drove across London with no notes today in the hope Sods Law would kick in. It didn't. Seems as though I'm miles off as she is not staying in my wonky pelvis long enough to do any good

SinkyMalinks · 18/03/2014 18:44

Nice try "merk*. Sad to say I also managed journey there and back without going into labour. Meh. Shall try some vigorous gardening tomorrow, there are some leaves that need sweeping up.

FriendofDorothy · 18/03/2014 21:21

I hope I am not speaking out of turn, but I have managed to catch up with Winks. She is fine, just needs a bit if breathing space. I don't think anything particular set her off so she is OK.
