That's nice to know that all is well. To be honest I had a spell of hardly posting much, just needed to menkul less and get on with real life more. Hopefully she will come back and update us on the birth of her little girl.

Was your scan a dilcocam? I was pre warned with my early dildocams that they can disturb things and cause a bit of blood. Rather than menkulling can you call your clinic now and see what they suggest.
It will be nothing to worry about i'm certain

KatAndKit · 19/03/2014 10:08

I have had spotting every time. Have you had sex recently? If not could have been inserting the pessary. Obviously there are never any guarantees but your scans have shown the baby is growing well so the chance of it being a miscarriage is very low. Given your history though I am sure the clinic won't mind you calling them.

Are you 100% sure about where the blood is coming from? I have had plenty of blood on the paper episodes but most of them had nothing to do with my cervix!

Remember bugs, the cervix changes in pregnancy! and can bleed easily. For all the reasons said, this is probably nothing. But, ring the clinic if you're worried.

How's cat today? Can you both snuggle on the sofa and chill?

SinkyMalinks · 19/03/2014 10:21

Rogue exclamation mark there...

Really bugs? I've never heard that before (from other PESH). I though the 12 week scan was always done got dating, hence the angst when ivf/IUI dates and scan don't match. I'd have thought not having the 12 scan would cause the midwives all sorts of headaches! (I've found they really don't like deviation from their normal - my LMP has been documented as in June, as March was "just silly")

KatAndKit · 19/03/2014 12:48

ERM, is the 12 week scan not when they have to do the nuchal fold test? It isn't just about dating. Even though I have never been too fussed about the downs screening, I have always accepted it just to get the scan. Tell your midwife you want the screening and if it is standard in your area you will get it.

SinkyMalinks · 19/03/2014 12:51

Kat makes a very valid point! Blush. The PESH have spoken. You need a 12 week scan.

eurochick · 19/03/2014 20:41

Yes, most areas offer the nuchal so you should get a scan for that reason (if you want it). I had mine privately as part of the Harmony package, so that is another option if the NHS is difficult about it.

I hope the bleeding has stopped. I moved to the back door when mine 3 week extravaganza started. I didn't want any irritation of my cervix to not be helping matters.

How are sinky and merks doing?

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/03/2014 21:08

Nothing happening here I'm afraid. Eating like a horse and peeing like one too. Am on loo paper watch (after having stopped that eventually after the bfp) but no signs of her wanting to evacuate her current home. VVTM suggests that's because my waters are made up entirely of chocolate (about 50% of my current diet) but realistically its because of my wonky pelvis

SinkyMalinks · 19/03/2014 22:34

Chocolate waters? Interesting theory Grin. Am also still here and on plug watch. Midwife tomorrow. Sweep and induction date. And am changing tack and taking it easy. Walking miles, gardening etc has done nothing. So I'm going to sit on my arse, watch homes under the hammer and count down the next 10 days.

Glad to hear there's no more spotting :) Regarding scans, it was never even discussed whether I would/wouldn't get a 12-week scan - it was just assumed I would like everyone else. Because being an IVF pregnancy doesn't make you special or different, care during pregnancy is just the same, as it should be. The only reason (as far as I know) they do an early scan is (a) to stop the menkul, and (b) to check it's not an ectopic. How weird of the clinic to suggest otherwise Hmm

Bleugh. Glucose tolerance test was horrid. Feel sick as now. Perhaps someone needs to lay a baybee today to cheer me up? I have popcorn and victory cigars!

SinkyMalinks · 20/03/2014 12:57

Ha! Would love to oblige, but not sure I'm going to be of any use. Sweep (hopefully) today though, so maybe soon?

maamalady · 20/03/2014 13:18

I've got my GTT on Monday, Kat What does it involve, again? Fast the night before, blood test, glucose drink(?), wait an hour, blood test, wait another hour, blood test? Are you allowed food again somewhere in all that, or do you have to keep fasting through the test timepoints?

OP posts:
maamalady · 20/03/2014 13:19

You never know, sink! Grin

OP posts:
KatAndKit · 20/03/2014 13:41

I had to fast from 9pm, arrive at hospital at 8.30, blood test, drink the drink and then sit still on a hard chair for 2 hours before being retested. Only water allowed till the second blood test so that was 14 hours of fasting! Feel better after Starbucks lunch though :) the glucose drink made me burp non stop for nearly an hour!
