Ha ha this makes me chuckle, all those glowing pregnant women make me want to hit them! I keep seeing lovely slim yummy mummy's with perfectly neatbumps with not an inch of fat and feeling jealous! My bum is huge, I've lost my waist and some days I have a bump and some days I'm just fat!

KitKatChick · 08/03/2014 19:31

Clothes can be a pain, I seem to have a disappearing bump as well so don't really want to invest in ton of maternity wear yet. A pair of maternity jeans is a must though.

In other news, our scan went pretty well with just one walk around the corridor required. We didn't want to find out the sex so that will remain a surprise. It was so exciting to see the little one all strong and healthy.

And to improve the day further we've had a look at prams and actually agreed on silver cross wayfarer - just looking out for a good deal now.

Hope next week is just as successful on the scan front as this one!

AuntieMaggie · 08/03/2014 20:05

In terms of nursery furniture I think we'll just get a cot and maybe a chair and normal wardrobe/drawers to go in the room.

howly me too!

BlueC2 · 08/03/2014 21:08

Re feeding chairs for nursery you can spend a fortune on these but I got an Ikea Poang chair and footstool second hand on eBay and it has been great!

I've had a day of rollercoaster emotions and arguments with DH plus DS been both super-charming and a total pain! Sleep needed! Also decided this morning I'd like to press fast forward to July and miss the next 18weeks of pregnancy and just get on with having baby here :)

coco808 · 08/03/2014 23:34

thank you so much ice and zing for the brilliant ideas! I love the ebay colorful one Grin...under the sea it is then!!

lovely to hear of the happy scans

I know what you mean about feeling fat and frumpy...

icklekid · 09/03/2014 06:55

Morning all, been forcing myself to stay up later in order to wake up later. Think dh appreciates the effort but still hard as so tired at night!

Went to the cinema yesterday afternoon which was lovely to get out and do something different but I did ache when had to get up!

Have started to feel kicks this weekend bit more regularly (22 weeks but anterior placenta) which is exciting still catches me by surprise though! Teaching will be odd if they start mid lesson but I'm sure I will get used to it!

liquidstate · 09/03/2014 08:55

I have a nursery chair. Best thing ever to sit in while pregnant! You can get them very cheap on ebay and local facebook sites so worth investing in (my local reading facebook has a nice one for £50 at the moment). My sister has reminded me that you will need a snuggly blanket for reading stories and night feeds, it gets chilly!

Finding the kicks annoying.

Well bathroom works ongoing and DH being annoyingly active and wanting to do lots of things when I just want to sleep.

ZingSweetMango · 09/03/2014 09:23

Grin @ finding the kicks annoying

just wait till they whine because the red cup is dirty, they flood the loo or draw on the walls or walk through the house with muddy shoes or spread nappy contents on bookshelf and books!
all in one day preferably...

Plateofcrumbs · 09/03/2014 09:54

On bumps and pregnancy bodies:

I have been enjoying it, I feel rather 'womanly'. I was thinking I can see why ancient people worshipped fertility goddesses and carved out images of pregnant women in all their curvy voluptuous glory.

Then DH said I just looked 'a bit fat'. Which slightly rained on that parade.

ismarah · 09/03/2014 10:58

Plate I think that's technically justifiable homicide? Certainly grounds for divorce. Or at least too much salt in his dinner, making him drink too much water and then spend the night continually waking up for a wee.

I find myself continually rolling on my back to sleep. I'm normally a side sleeper but now that I'm supposed to, I don't wanna.

Any ideas that don't involve tennis balls in pyjamas?

Plateofcrumbs · 09/03/2014 12:29

Nice plan isamarah mwahhahaha!

I'm also rolling onto my back a lot - I always fall asleep in foetal position (in fact find it quite hard to get to sleep if I'm not on my side) but once I'm asleep I seem to end up on my back. When are we supposed to start worrying about it? At yoga they let us lie on our backs if we're less than 30 weeks, although that's for 10 mins not all night. I don't feel at all uncomfortable on my back yet.

liquidstate · 09/03/2014 14:57

Someone recommended a rolled up towel running down your back when you sleep sideways. My method is to stay in bed with DH who gradually likes to hog the whole bed and duvet. Usually I kick him but it hurts the pelvis to do so now.

plate I'm sorry it would appear your unborn child will grow up fatherless. It is justifiable homicide though and the judge will treat you leniently due to your pregnancy. Probably just a sound ticking off rather than jail time.

BlueC2 · 09/03/2014 18:27

Woohoo! Sunshine! What a pleasure to spend the day in linen trousers, a vest top and flip flops :) albeit with a teething toddler and an overtired DH in tow but it has still been a good day!

Hope everyone else doing ok?

I even managed to put my pictures in a frame ready to go in the nursery!

icklekid · 09/03/2014 19:25

Hasn't it been glorious so nice to enjoy some sunshine! Fingers crossed July/Aug will be the same for plenty of getting out with baby :-)

plate I would have been so unimpressed!!!

Howly · 09/03/2014 20:23

plate just slip in the fact that your allowed to put on weight as your feeding a baby and then say 'thanks for making me feel better babes I'd feel so bad if I was the only one getting fat - but should you really be eating that? you've got no excuse' my hubby is eating more too and is worried he's putting on more weight!!

ZingSweetMango · 09/03/2014 20:55

fat? hmmm - maybe I can top that

when I talked to the sonographer about how I'll probably need another scan around 32-34 weeks and she agreed, MrZing knowingly commented: "Yes, that's because your older now"

Shock

cue murderous eyes from me and ice cold whispering of " No, that's to check baby's not being breech again and thay the C-section scar is ok"

idiot. I felt like keep kicking him in the nuts.
and I don't even care about my age, but that was uncalled for.

ZingSweetMango · 09/03/2014 21:32

not keep kicking. Grin just kicking once.

mummytobejuly2014 · 09/03/2014 22:10

think our little man has the hiccups! belly jumping every few secs for the last 10-15mins - always wondered how people could tell lol. OH was even able to feel. course this happens when im thinking abt bed, 5am comes pretty quick for crappy work

BlueC2 · 10/03/2014 08:45

Ugh! Constipation Blush back on the lactulose! Hopefully that will help!

Another super sunny day here though which is lovely!

Happy Monday all

liquidstate · 10/03/2014 10:39

Have had headaches on and off for the last two days as well as still unbelievably tired so have to pop to doctors in 10 mins with urine sample for blood pressure tests.

Unfortunately the plasterers are here, they have blocked access to my room so I couldn't retrieve sample bottle but did track down a small glass elderflower presse bottle in the recycling. Which must have looked odd to the builders as the WC is next to the family bathroom.

I also have no underwear on as they turned up early and I just shoved jogging bottoms on with the tshirt I have slept in and can't get into bedroom.

Oh. The. Shame. Blush

On the plus side I need a poo so can use the loo at the surgery.

sorry if TMI! Grin

Lauranne · 10/03/2014 10:53

Glad everyone's doing ok! X I'm definitely not glowing, but floating along without too much hassle so can't complain. Who do I contact about joking the Facebook group? Be nice to be clucky and excited with the rest of you, can't really do it in real life x

ZingSweetMango · 10/03/2014 12:52

lliquid
Grin @ you going through your bin! I hope you were wearing a dressing gown and slippers for full effect!Wink

icklekid · 10/03/2014 14:52

Oh dear liquid you did make me laugh! Hope you get some answers.
I've been in pain all morning and by 1 gave up and am at home. My back is awful need to find a way to deal with this because actually wanted to cry all morning but so much to do!

liquidstate · 10/03/2014 15:26

The doctor laughed fortunately and signed me off for another 2 weeks.

My blood pressure is up and she thinks I have a urine infection. I need to drink more water. We are going through an average sized bottle of squash every other day so not sure how much more I can drink Confused.

I have my 25 week appointment next week with the same doctor fortunately.

In the meantime I am very bored!!!

AuntieMaggie · 10/03/2014 16:18

liquid cut down the squash and drink more plain water to flush it all out.
