Welcome mtpg and congrats - I know exactly what you mean after 3 mc's in 18 months I still (tmi alert) check the tissue when wiping after a wee Blush

Ladies on a medical mite I have quite a bad eye infection at the mo and as I normally wear contacts have been in glasses for last couple do days which has helped to give me a headache for past two days – I have taken 1 paracetamol today and 1 yesterday - how much is too much?

ZingSweetCoconut · 21/03/2014 21:27

Paracetamol - you can take whatever is the normal dose stated on the packet.
I think it's 2 tablets, up to 4 times a day, but do check.

Don't take the "extra" ones with caffeine, just the plain ones.

It's stuff like aspirin and ibuprofen we are not allowed. not even LemsipSad

oo00PIXIE00oo · 21/03/2014 21:53

Thanks zing

Plateofcrumbs · 22/03/2014 10:41

Welcome mtpg Smile

I had my first random person commenting on my pregnancy today (am in Chicago which is a revelation for a Londoner more used to an urban environment where even acknowledging someone else's existence is a bit over-friendly) - a store security guard just said "hey, congratulations mom!". Honestly made my day!

jaykay987 · 22/03/2014 10:53

ahh plate that's exciting!

mummytobejuly2014 · 22/03/2014 14:38

zing 305mg once a day.
Welcome mtpg, dont think the anxiousness will go away, I've had so many bleeds that I automatically check every time I go for a pee.
plate thats nice! not had anyone thats not related say anything abt me lol!
its all go in OH family at the mo, im due with 1st grandchild then OH bro&gf due 2-3wks later & OH other bro due 10wks after that! none and then 3 within weeks of each other and I dont think any of us were trying, just happens to be coincidence! just a shame we're a short plane ride away from each other or we'd be closer

ZingSweetCoconut · 22/03/2014 17:08

mummy

I think that's a high dose - not that you shouldn't take it, after all if it's been prescribed there's a good reason for that.

but if it gives you any trouble maybe best to talk to GP and get a lower dose.
(or if you think it's making you feel ill then stop)

NancyinCali · 22/03/2014 17:12

plate didn't realise you were my side of the pond at the moment :) Americans do tend to be quite friendly in that respect (not so much when driving).

AuntieMaggie · 22/03/2014 20:01

plate that's lovely

someone I knew (but didn't I was pregnant) pointed at my bump and said "I assume its congratulations" the other day and then asked if I was going to get married...

liquidstate · 23/03/2014 09:56

AuntieMaggie Grin

Welcome mtpg!

All quiet this end. Had a delivery from pumpkin patch yesterday, thanks to whoever recommended them. So lovely to see quality clothes in non pink/blue colours.

Howly · 23/03/2014 10:25

Busy busy here! Baby is doing somersaults at the moment which is lovely as DH got to feel her kick! We went window shopping yesterday and got a bit giddy with joy in John Lewis looking at gorgeous little outfits! We ended up buying a baby book though - bit random but we loved the story and the piglet on the front!!

Plateofcrumbs · 23/03/2014 13:39

nancy - makes me wonder what on earth Americans must make of London! You don't question it when you live here but the infamous British reserve must be a bit of a shock when you're used to sharing your life story when buying a coffee!

Bought our first baby item yesterday - a horrendously expensive babygro: boutique brand, organic cotton, hand-stitched by pixies, yadda yadda. It was either that or spend three times more on a totally unnecessary maternity dress (which was lovely but...I. Do. Not. Need. More. Maternity. Dresses)

Plateofcrumbs · 23/03/2014 13:44

Oh and we're going out for a brunch buffet today at a place that does all you can eat oysters. I bloody love oysters. Angry

Yeah, I know, first world problems!

ismarah · 23/03/2014 15:20

Boo. Think I may have the beginning twinges of SPD. Find it painful to do things like stand on one leg and lift the other, even for little things like dressing or putting on shoes. Also aches to turn in bed if I'm not careful.

Experimented with swimming the other day in my new swimsuit. Why do maternity wear brands so often think if you're pregnant all you want is cutesy polka dots, pastels and flowers? I want my usual sporty, black, supportive things. Or sleek, black, slinky things. #preggoninja

Am entirely too entertained by bump-spotting in public. Although I'm now at the stage where my own bump precedes my boobs. This is a first as I've never been small.

AuntieMaggie · 23/03/2014 16:00

ismarah see your GP about the aching thing and they can refer you for physio if needed.

And I'm with you on the swimsuit front - have yet to buy a maternity one (which I really should as pregnant women get free swimming here)

icklekid · 23/03/2014 17:43

Free swimming auntie very jealous would love that! Need to get myself a swimsuit though...then sort my legs out!

ismarah def go see gp and get referral before it gets worse :-(

Very kicky baby here too! Decided it would be a good idea to clean the bathroom as dh just can't Sad in so much pain.

plate yay for ridiculousridiculously expensive babygrow I count my gap Paddington one within that-dh asked his mum if she still had his old bear and she couldn't find it and turned up with a new one yesterday! Love Paddington Smile

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 17:51

I've got the rage.

DH is working up in Wales tomorrow and had to leave at 2pm.
not back until Monday, past midnight.

I am incredibly frustrated to have to deal with all the kids on a Weekend day and feel so angry (which means also two nights in a row) - I just want to scream.

crying instead.Sad

fifi669 · 23/03/2014 17:59

Have a 3 year old redecorating the house with vom. Luckily lovely DP has time off work at the mo and is refusing to let me clean up after him as he doesn't want me to get ill. Love that man :)

AuntieMaggie · 23/03/2014 18:05

Aww zing sending you a hug and some Jaffa cakes. Why did he have to leave so early?

My DP has annoyed me too - he's off doing his cycling bit today and left the house at 5:30am and just called me to say he's just finished despite telling me yesterday that he would finish by 3pm :( wouldn't be half as bad if he hadn't spent all day yesterday out as well - I'm starting to get annoyed with spending most of the weekends on my own... feeling really isolated and lonely at the moment

mtpg · 23/03/2014 18:27

Thank you ladies for welcoming messages :)
Virtual hugs and support with the kids for Zing.

Incapinka · 23/03/2014 19:25

DH has had a bad cold this week so that has prevented him from
ironman training - so I managed to escape for a few hours today with my horse and do another dressage competition. I don't think I will be able to do many more as my jacket and breeches are beginning to get very very tight!!

I do wonder whether I am getting SPD though. There is definitely something going on in my pelvis resulting in groin/inner thigh pain which makes me squeak at times. My lovely chiro has given me a very dodgy looking pressure point to massage which is about 5mm from the bikini line. It's definitely helps but I have to be careful where I massage it!! Bizarrely sitting in a saddle is more comfortable that anywhere else

Hope you are ok zing. And hope everyone else has had nice weekends

AuntieMaggie · 23/03/2014 21:06

Incapinka It may be a nerve or the baby lying weirdly rather than SPD

Baby has been doing some weird twisting tonight and I've felt some movements up high on the right hand side - higher than I thought it should be at this stage!

mixi82 · 23/03/2014 21:17

Ahhhhh!!! Major emotions going mental!! Only get to see DP on weekends and this time he came down to visit me. he's gone back north now and although we usually part every Sunday, I'm so emotional about it today, proper had a little cry just then! I'm missing him lots and lots :( but on a good note, he got to feel and see lots of kicks this weekend. Just want a big FAT hug from him right now......and now that's opened the flood gates again!! This is normal though, right?

Incapinka · 23/03/2014 21:56

Thanks auntie Maggie! Falling apart this evening. I now appear to have trapped a nerve in my shoulder which is making breathing and moving very hard (& not swearing!). On a brighter note I have mini eggs!!!!

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 22:07

It's a guilty pleasure to see I'm not the only one crying and falling apart.

I'm truly sorry for anyone feeling miserable though.

group hug?
