Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

OP posts:

Today I have eaten A LOT and I am still hungry. How can it be??? I have had a Mc D cheeseburger about 15 mins ago, inspired by all the recent Mc D's posts. It barely touched the sides of the sides. I am rav again. *sigh.

Pickofthepops · 20/02/2014 18:35

Hats off to Me23. And all you busy teachers.

Had booking in today. Feeling grim. Have v low blood pressure hence feeling faint. And urine infection and this chesty and tickly cough on top of the HG having come back. What a healthy specimen I am.

Was pickofthedocs by the way .. Hadn't name changed back from a dr who name change event back in November!

Emmylu · 20/02/2014 18:35

Another teacher here! I'm rec/year 1. Feeling knackered at the moment and I'm not even doing anything so not looking forward to going back as I find myself so drained normally let alone pregnant!

littlehelp · 20/02/2014 18:46

Checking into new thread!

God I feel like everything is heading for my mouth can't stop eating! It's depressing and even more so at 6 weeks Confused

CareBearWithFangs · 20/02/2014 18:50

Be kind to yourself this evening bingo, glad you got some reassurance.

Sympathy for everyone whose working full time. I do 2 days a week and it's a sit down job so not too bad. Trying to convince DD to let me sit down the rest of the week is a bit tricky though.

Sunnyday14 · 20/02/2014 18:57

I'm feeling worse this week than I have all the way through (I'm 7+6) - pretty much feel sick all the time, ravenously hungry but can't seem to eat much at all. Desperate for chips and mushy peas all day, insisted my dh went out to get some for tea, then couldn't eat it. And now I'm hungry again. Urgh. But, very glad I'm not actually throwing up and thoughts are with those that are. mum2kiss, I'm also very windy... Blush
Had midwife booking in apt this week so feeling a lot more informed about what's going on, but dying to have my scan and find out if it's all OK.

Loopylu84 · 20/02/2014 19:04

Bingo you poor thing! Thanks sounds really postive that the scan is showing a yolk sac so hopefully you'll find that all is well in 2 weeks

I too found myself at the early pregnancy unit today-had woken up feeling fine and then got the usual cramping that iv been having, however it got progressively worse throughout the day, not had any bleeding but it was the kind of pain that you can hardly manage to speak through so thought I should go and check all is well
The hospital were AMAZING, so kind and spoke to a reay lovely Dr who did a scan too, looks like im measuring 5wks and a couple of days rather than the 6 weeks I thought I was, she said that the yolk sac all looks fine and the pregnancy is in the right place however she couldnt pick out the foetal pole (whatever the hell that is!) or a heartbeat just yet, didnt seem remotely concerned and said the date discrepency is likely to be late ovulation so im getting scanned again in 2 weeks to check everything is progressing

She also showed me my rather hardened bowels and told me to eat more fibre. Excellent. Nothing like seeing your own poo on ultrasound. Really lovely. So, no more macdonalds!

Hope everyone else is doing well-I can see we're going to get through many threads between now and october!

Bumpforme2014 · 20/02/2014 19:09

Evening all, loopy that sounds stressful glad your okay though! Sounds promising for you also bingo thank goodness. All this worry and stress so early in pregnancy is not pleasant.

I actually woke up feeling human this morning for the first time in a week, not sure how long it will last but managing to eat more now as well. Still so tired and can't actually walk far without feeling weak and needing to sit down. Roll on 12 weeks, just want my dates now to cheer me up, so many of you have had scans already!

Me23 · 20/02/2014 19:11

Sorry bingo I forgot to say sorry about your fainting experience and I hope all is well for you in 2 weeks you too loopylu.

mum2kiss · 20/02/2014 19:23

Loopy glad to hear all looked well in there!

Just wanted to guve you all the heads up that we're having fish and chips from the local chippie tomorrow...salivating already! I have been eating well today though and I had a healthy stir fry for dinner last night lol! Cant wait for crispy batter and lashings of vinegar!!!

I love obem!

As for perfect births. On paper my daughters birth was perfect. No complications, nice and "short"... However I did not think the pain was just fine. I was apparently too quick for pain relief so just had to brave it...back to back contractions with no let up in between?! I immediately said I would never do it again! After a few months I started to think I would probably do it again but only for the amazing prize at the end ;)

puppythedog · 20/02/2014 19:30

Just thought I would say hello again, partly to help me find the thread. Can anyone give us a rough estimate on the cost of an NCT signature antenatal course?

Thanks and Cake for all of you, some really difficult experiences, worry seems to be our biggest difficulty at the moment.

I hope your other halves are helpful and supportive. I'm a bit freaked out having to wait until 13 weeks for the scan, particularly being at 6+2.

oh and mrsthedog I think you will manage with work, you are amazing and wonderful, as well as pretty and pregnant.

Good luck to all, catch you later.

ToffeeJungle · 20/02/2014 19:52

Ah found the new thread, thank you!

All the talk of McDonalds reminded me of when I was pregnant with DC1 - I drive passed a Burger King on the way to work and one Monday morning at about 9.30am I just couldn't resist and got myself a Double Bacon Cheeseburger meal (large!!). It was bliss!! Never usually bother with fast food chains but can feel the call if BK again soon!!

fatpony · 20/02/2014 20:01

For those who have done NCT courses how long are the courses generally? The ones in my local area for October births seem to be like four Monday evenings or two Saturday sessions and one weekday evening session. For some reason I thought they would be longer? (Swot)
Thanks!

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/02/2014 20:07

Good news bingo! Sounds like a tough day though!Sad
Just as I was thinking "I haven't felt nauseous today" it's back - maybe I am getting evening sickness. Yuk.

FlipFantasia · 20/02/2014 20:56

Bingo & loopy what stressful days you've though glad the scans are showing good news.

Trouble another afternoon/evening nauseous type here. This morning I was frantically trying to catch up on chores before the urge to be still to minimise nausea kicked in...

I think Nct varies from place to place. When we did ours, we did eight 2 hour evening sessions (with one extra woman only session). That included a dedicated bfing class. Other friends did an intensive weekend course (they lived near us in London). So I think it depends.

With Nct, you just need to make sure you all have each other's emails and just dive in with meeting up once on leave (we started off meeting in cafés but switched to taking turns at each other's flats/houses as the maternity pay started to dwindle!).

Feeling rough as here. Don't want to moan when there are ladies with HG but roll on a month or so when I can start to feel human again!

Midwife tomorrow. Thankfully dh is working from home so I don't have to bring the kids!

petitverdot · 20/02/2014 21:04

Hi everyone :)

Another one who can't stop eating! Oh and the tiredness has really hit today - feel like I've been on a 10 mile hike and need my bed! 8 weeks today and first midwife appointment a week on Monday - eek!

mum2kiss · 20/02/2014 21:11

I didnt do nct first time round but I'd like to do it this time around to meet new mums and for dp as this is his first

MundayCakes85 · 20/02/2014 22:47

Sorry to those having a hard time today, hopefully things will feel better tomorrow Thanks
Not quite sure what NCT is but been given info on hospital run classes in my area. Not sure when I have to book them though.
I'm also one that can't stop eating, mostly savoury which is strange as I have such a sweet tooth chocolate at breakfast is normal! Feel a bit bleurgh late afternoons but so far no real nausea.

puppythedog · 20/02/2014 22:48

Just been doing the money calculations and I have a big old worry going on. I know we'll make it all work (we have to) but scared none the less. Not necessarily looking for reassurance but wanting say it out loud and can't because of those that know there isn't someone I can share these worries with effectively.

AARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH. If you're not worried about one thing you're worried about another. We're first timers and a mate at work described parenthood as ever more complex worries.

AAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH.

TroubleAndFyfe · 21/02/2014 08:14

Are you calculating how you will manage on maternity pay and one wage Puppy? Just checking as the media tells us it costs so much to raise a child but we've barely spent anything on our little boy. Reusable nappies, breastfeeding, clothes and toys from friends or freecycle and up cycling furniture make things very affordable (and, if you're a bit of a hippy like me make you feel good too) Smile

TinyTear · 21/02/2014 08:42

Last time I just did the hospital antenatal classes. they were ok, and met up with a few of the women a few times, but we just didn't click so it all stopped.

This time, all going well, I saw the NCT do 'refresher' classes in my area for people on their second or more so might be tempted to do it...

tak1ngchances · 21/02/2014 08:46

Morning all. Today I am freaking out because my boobs are not sore. Every day until now I have woken up and had to hold them walking to the loo because they were so sore. But this morning...nothing. They just feel like normal boobs. Am v worried.
7+1 today

TroubleAndFyfe · 21/02/2014 08:51

It's very normal for symptoms to come and go takingchances, I've had lots of days where I have nothing at all. They always return. Smile

BingoBango85 · 21/02/2014 08:57

Loopylu we can be in the same boat!

Today I have decided DONT ever google anything. After scanned showed fluid on one tube, thought I'd look it up. BIG mistake; resulted in a night with no sleep and more tears.

I have concluded that accidental pregnancy is the way forward and should be promoted! Lol! All this drama and worrying is no good Shock

tak1ngchances · 21/02/2014 08:57

Thanks trouble that is reassuring. Still feel v nervous but I'm going to try and forget about it and go for a walk in the nice sunshine
