Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Munday glad your scan went well, you were right then - closer to your date estimation!

So I saw my dentist this morning to ask about my lip/mouth infection. He's given me some antibiotics, he wasn't sure he wanted to, but the pharmacist said they'd be completely fine in pregnancy so I'm hoping they do the trick soon...one side of my face and mouth is agony! So annoyingly when I just want to eat loads! I am 10 weeks today and had my scan date through which is exactly 2 weeks today when I'll be 12 weeks. Can't wait, feels like I've been waiting for ages to see everything is alright in there!

Oh can Captain, no to hot tubs i'm afraid. Spa is no fun for a preggo - you need to book in a preggo massage or take full advantage of the relax bit and the magazines! And yes to goats cheese, but only if it's been cooked. You could ring them and check, if it's mould ripened as most are then it's a no no raw i'm afraid....

ohthegoats · 06/03/2014 12:39

Congratulations Munday... does the baby look like a baby? I'll be 10+4 when mine is done on Saturday. If there's something there, I'd like it to be vaguely recognisable!

ToffeeJungle · 06/03/2014 12:48

Nice to hear about the lovely scans that are happening, still not got a date for mine yet but had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday which went well. She was lovely and did the usual blood / urine sample, few quick questions, blood pressure etc. She said I should get a date for my scan next week some time - can't wait! Then all being well we can start telling people!! Smile

Had an amazing day yesterday, felt 'normal' for the first time in ages! Had energy and didn't feel sick, hoorah!! Made the most of it by meeting DH after work and had dinner out. I really enjoyed it and didn't even throw it all back up when I got home, result!! Smile

tak1ngchances · 06/03/2014 13:10

I had my second scan today, it showed 9+2 weeks and we saw 2 little hands and 2 little feet and heard the heartbeat again! All very good and SO reassuring because I've been having fewer/milder symptoms and really feared the worst.
So to everyone on this thread worrying about lack of symptoms etc, just to let you know it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. It's just that everyone is different Smile

BlueberryPoppy123 · 06/03/2014 13:30

tak1 lucky ones !!

Great reading about the scans :) 29 hours left until my private scan EEEEK still not heard a peep from the community midwifes or the hospital about my 12 week scan... I'm so impatient only 8w2d already feels longer than the whole of DS pregnancy :D

I don't like hot cross bun so I think I'll go for crumpets instead soaked in butter mmm

MundayCakes85 · 06/03/2014 13:53

Ohthegoats It was facing away from us so wasn't really baby shaped but did see the heartbeat flickering away. And it moved a lot. FX yours will be in a better position! And drink a lot of water- I saw better with a full bladder but it was uncomfortably full! Blush

ohthegoats · 06/03/2014 14:01

OK, advice taken. For me at the moment a full bladder is about 2 teaspoons..

Me23 · 06/03/2014 14:01

magichandles you have me craving hot cross buns with cheddar now mmm must buy some today.

I am absolutely exhausted today, work was manic yesterday had to run around for 13.5 hours on my feet without any breaks had nothing to eat thought I was going to pass out a few times. How anyone can think that is acceptable is beyond me.

mum2kiss · 06/03/2014 14:37

Wow what is your job me23 ?

Yay for good scans! Ive convinced myself there'll be nothing on the screen when my time comes!! I seem to go between believing that I must be pregnant and then thinking it's all in my head!

ohthegoats · 06/03/2014 14:41

then thinking it's all in my head!

This is me. I think it's also because no one else knows. I seem to be working harder than usual, yet it keeps getting piled on and I can't even shout 'OH GIVE ME A BREAK', because there's no reason to. My boss is away AGAIN tomorrow, which means parents' assemblies, meetings with governors at 8am, general doing his job as well as my own.. and I'm just exhausted. Whinge.

sazzlehopes · 06/03/2014 14:43

Mum2 and thegoats i too am convinced it's all in my head! There is no need for a private scan for me, i only have 2 weeks more to wait now, but those 2 weeks cannot go quick enough!

ohthegoats · 06/03/2014 14:46

I've just noticed actually that it's this time of day that really is when it begins to be over for me. Up since 6.30, in work since 7.45.. and by 3 I'm done. I've tried Tangfastics, but even that's not enough sugar to wake it all up a bit.

Loopylu84 · 06/03/2014 14:48

8 weeks today and had my followup scan at lunch....got to see an entire 12mm of baby plus a good heartbeat-yay! Feel like I can relax a bit more now
Glad to hear everyone elses scans are going well! Grin

lilystem · 06/03/2014 15:23

Hot cross bun and cheese is a genius suggestion!!

I'm only 7+3 and really struggling with nausea I feel sick literally all day. I kind of wish I could be sick so the feeling would go away. The only thing that sorts it is eating. I'd only just got back to pre preg weight after putting on 4 stone with ds1 (whose 12 months). I was determined tek put on less this time but I'm already half a stone heavier. Cheese, biscuits and rolls are the only thing that fills
Me up bit dear lord my waistline is bad. Anyone else struggling?

Sounds like there's lots is scans going on - v exciting!!

vicky123uk · 06/03/2014 16:08

We have our dating scan on the 25th yay! Can't wait to see 'it' again. Our ds was named bean right up until 2 days after birth but cant think of something for this one.
Are u all having the flu jab? Its been offered to me, it was the same time of year 4 years ago with fs but neverhad it offered then so unsure as to what to do.

Me23 · 06/03/2014 16:21

mum2 I'm a midwife! It's ironic that my job is to look after pregnant women and new mothers but this pregnant woman is harming herself in the process! I'm not going to sacrifice mine or my baby's health for this job if it continues I will have to be signed off for a bit.

I'm glad scans have gone well for people.
I don't think it has sunk in that I'm going to have 3 kids it's quite daunting especially as my 2 yr old wakes at 5am and they were both terrible sleepers I swore I wouldn't have another because of the sleep deprivation it does worry me, I hope it's different this time I deserve a good sleeper!

lilystem · 06/03/2014 16:25

Wow, me23 3 kids! Surely it'll be 3rd time lucky in terms of a good sleeper?!

Vicky - I'll have it if offered but I guessed as it'll be summer we wouldn't - isn't it only over winter they offer it?

sazzlehopes · 06/03/2014 16:57

Vicky - i'm not, i feel pretty healthy (apart from this damned face infection!) and personally i'm not keen on the idea. going into spring/summer i feel more confident i won't need it anyway, but it's such a personal choice, do what is right for you. x

pebble82 · 06/03/2014 17:13

I had the flu jab in December when ttc (was free through work). Having had flu there is no way I want it again and it can be harmful to the baby I believe. I don't think it matters what time of year it is, you can get it any time, it's just more likely in winter.

CareBearWithFangs · 06/03/2014 17:56

I'd have the flu jab if it's offered. Can it have any bad side effects?

The exhaustion is really kicking in today. I had to take myself and DD to bed at 2 o clock. I put half an hours worth of peppa pig on the ipad for DD and immediately fell asleep.

So jealous of everyone whose had scans, I want to see mine!

Me 23, I'd get yourself signed off, you cannot manage under those sorts of conditions, it's appalling that you have to. DD is still a terrible sleeper (still up at least once usually more every night) so I'm crossing my fingers for a good sleeper next time.

Cakebaker35 · 06/03/2014 18:44

Great news on all the good scans and sorry to those still feeling rough.

I've had the flu jab both pregnancies. The vaccine is not a live virus so can't give you flu. Some people have a sore arm I think but there shouldn't be any ill effects. Well worth avoiding flu which can be life threatening to pregnant ladies and babies. I was also told the vaccine offers your newborn a little protection too, so especially important for autumn / winter little ones.

Captainmcgraw · 06/03/2014 18:59

Congrats on all the positive scan news! Thanks for the advice re. spas and food. Second pregnancy but some of the NHS food guidance seems to have changed since last time. Did think those spa things were probably no-goers but it seemed odd that my friend (who is also pregnant) had decided to do that as an activity. Anyway there's a lovely pool to relax in.

Hot cross buns with cheese is a winner. Strangely enough the only thing I can stomach first thing in the morning is an untoasted hot cross bun. Not what I'd normally opt for but gives me a non sick inducing carb hit first thing.

pebble82 · 06/03/2014 19:20

Argh, DP a annoying me tonight. I got home from work and had to sleep. Getting twinges on my left side, felt sick and totally shattered. His first comment was that the kitchen hasn't been cleaned. Grr!! He's now banging around, huffing and puffing making a massive deal about tidying up. Men have no idea how exhausting this really is :'(

Me23 · 06/03/2014 20:08

Anyone in wales or has sky 952 country midwives is on now looks great a lot more normality than one born.

STIGZ · 06/03/2014 21:00
