Why does my phone think news should be need? Oh well.

I did a quick scan back.

So sorry to hear your news Loopy I hope you got some answers from somewhere. Take care of yourself.

Congratulations on the good scan news Dino, hopefully the sickness will go soon. I'm so glad I missed all that with both pregnancies, I'm terrible at being sick. Vomited so few times in my life I never learnt the skill of getting to the bathroom unless I was already there.

Pen brooking it's your time soon, the last bit of pregnancy drags almost as much as that first wait for your scan. Not long now though.

Maybe hopefully all these weird feelings turn into something more soon! Both my sister's labours she's not noticed till her waters broke and labour started for real. Perhaps you'll be the same "hmm, was that a twinge? "

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/03/2014 13:31

Grin Stacks I can only hope!! What an amazing induction birth!! I'm pleased your back has eased a little. How are you feeling other than that?

I'm not feeling too bad Smegs. I'm just so uncomfortable at night, and that's when I'm getting all my twinges which hasn't helped the past few nights. But I can't complain Smile how late were your two?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 18/03/2014 13:32

Great news Dino so pleased for you :)

Maybe do you have something you would like to share? Are we having a symptoms of something imminent?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/03/2014 13:37

Possibly Boo, possibly Wink. Though. Nothing exciting. Just practicing Grin

GreenOlives · 18/03/2014 13:47

Great news dino Grin
Twinges are good maybe That body of yours is obviously getting geared up for a super fast sneeze! Grin

musicalmrs · 18/03/2014 14:24

Maybe, I'm so excited about your imminent sneeze birth! Hope yours isn't too far off too Pen.

Dino, congratulations on a fabulous scan! Are you going to start telling people now?

Too, your physio sounds fabulous (can I have her?!). I hope the NHS one is useful too, but how wonderful that you just needed the one appointment for now too! How are you feeling today?

Stacks - Wow for your sister's sneeze birth! Glad your back is feeling a bit better too.

Lurking rather than posting as I'm mostly feeling a bit stressed and down. Still over a week until my scan and I'm feeling incredibly weird, and in quite a bit of pain/uncomfortableness a lot of the time. Getting hardly any sleep, and feeling like an utterly rubbish mum. On the plus side, we've sold our house.. on the downside, we can't offer on the house we think we love for a couple of weeks, and are incredibly worried it's going to disappear in that time :(

Anyway, enough about me. Brooking for lots more twinges for Maybe. Will we get a live birth thread from either of you? Wink. I'd like to remind everyone that I posted an update at 8-9cms with DD.. Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 18/03/2014 14:36

musicalmrs weird how? And the pain/discomfort too - could you please try and get to your GP? How far along are you?

Maybe I was 40+16 with E1 and 40+13 with E2. Both big babies too [ouch face] Twinges are excellent, that's your body quietly getting ready for labour, means the big event is near?

Loopy I've only just read back to see your news. I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself Thanks

ThedementedPenguin · 18/03/2014 14:45

Too I love a good live birth thread but I'm not sure I'll be good at it. I found it very hard to concentrate on anything but sucking the gas&air. So I'll leave it up to maybe

Too that physio seemed fantastic. Seemed like it has really worked, hoping it sticks for a while.

Dino great news about the scan.

Stacks that's a great induction birth. Very quick.

Maybe twinges sound like a great thing (although if anything like mine then ouch). I didn't get a single twinge with ds so I'm just happy that it seems body is gearing up for something.

Smegs you really were very overdue with both. Did you take induction or go yourself? I was 11 days over with ds so hoping it's not a sign for this one.

So everything went well today, ctg was good, plenty of fluid around baby and the blood flow through cord was excellent. So fingers crossed my scan on Friday goes well. Just want to know one way or the other know. Hate being in limbo.

ScrambledSmegs · 18/03/2014 15:02

E1 was induced, but it really didn't go very well. I was already in labour when they started inducing me and if anything it slowed everything down because I was so tense and uncomfortable, and hate hospitals. But all things considered it was ok. I'm more grumpy about the after-care I got what after care

E2 was a natural birth, she fair shot out into the world. I was due to be induced two days later but she decided that she was ready and that was it.

My mum and maternal DGM also had very late babies, and allegedly so did my great-grandmother, but we can't be sure as dating was more of a grey area back then. It's a family thing!

cartoontrickster · 18/03/2014 15:43

hey preggos
just checking in to see how you all are, maybe how are you doing? pen is it u next after maybe?
I've scanned back and seen loopys post, I'm sorry to read that and it may be too late now but I have had a couple of erpcs if you have some questions I will answer them if I can.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/03/2014 18:56

Trix, lovely to see you. How are you and N getting along?

You really do grow late babies Smegs! But immensely cute ones at that Wink

Pen good to hear you're gearing up too. Yes, they have been a bit ouch, but nothing too bad.

I k kw it's easier said than done Musical, but try not to worry. Everything will be ok x

Thanks Olives Smile

No, I don't think there will be a live birth thread here I'm afraid. I will of course tell you when she makes an appearance though Wink

Fox82 · 18/03/2014 19:59

Great scan news Dino! Lovely you're closer to your due date than you thought Grin

Physio sounds great Too! So glad it worked out well for you

Sounds like your sneeze is getting really close Maybe!! Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/03/2014 07:19

How are you doing Fox? Hope you're feeling ok Smile

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/03/2014 11:40

Well, the physio lasted for approx 3 hours and then I got sciatica again. Hmm Waah! Stupid hips/pelvis clearly just can't stand up to lifting 20-odd lbs of toddler, or perhaps it was my work laptop bag which must weigh about the same again. Angry I asked my boss for a lightweight laptop when we were all getting ours upgraded and he said there was no business need for me to have one - this was approx 2 months before I started ttc and I knew perfectly well that I couldn't say 'well, I might get pregnant and get SPD again and be unable to carry heavy weights!' but I really wanted to. And lo and behold, here I am and I was right. I wonder whether I can ask for a workplace assessment (which I haven't had, btw, in any pregnancy) and ask for it then? I suppose it's more likely to be lifting M that does it - and she keeps deciding she wants carried whenever I feel particularly sore. I can't afford to go straight back for more re-aligning - will make an appt for after payday.

Musical, are you okay? What sort of pain is it - crampiness? I had heaps of cramps between weeks 4 and 10 or so. Am Brooking really hard that everything is ok. What day is your scan?

Pen and Maybe, am v disappointed that there will be no live birth thread! Mind you, I won't be able to provide one either - I could deputise DH but think he might get chucked out of the operating theatre if he was posting on MN all the time! I can provide updates such as 'arrived at hospital for ELCS...now dressed in fetching hospital gown thingie...sitting downstairs waiting to be taken into theatre....long pause...been delayed by emergency section...waiting, waiting....more silence...BABY!' Who is next after Pen? Is it Stacks?

pommedeterre · 19/03/2014 12:39

That's rubbish about the laptop too! Work/pg things are hard. I think you are supposed to get an assessment in pg by law for working conditions?? I am applying to dad and dh for a new desk and chair on that basis!

A insists on being carried a lot too, and just by me. Im getting really bad wrist, elbow and shoulder pains in the evening at the moment, makes sleeping quite difficult. Never had this before. Have also hit an emotional point and spent most of my flight this am trying not to cry - for no reason at all.

Am in the Italian office for a couple of days, indulging in naughty coffees.

musical - sorry to hear about the cramps, I had lots more with dd2 than dd1 if thats any help. Brooking that no offers come in on the house you want! Didn't you move when you were pg with dd1 too? Thats nesting to a whole new extreme :)

Congratulations dino!

cartoontrickster · 19/03/2014 13:17

really good thanks maybe feel so much more like I know what I'm doing now! N is a really good sleeper so that helps a lot. his little gummy smiles are sooo cute Grin
its so busy in here! can't wait for the next Brooking baby! Smile

Fox82 · 19/03/2014 20:57

That's annoying about the physio not lasting Too. I admire you all who are carrying toddlers about whilst being pregnant!

I'm good thanks Maybe! Been very lucky so far in that I've been feeling fairly good. I did fall over this morning though and graze my knees! It was very embarrassing!! I think it's my centre of gravity changing slightly as I have been stumbling a bit lately.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2014 07:52

Sorry to hear bout the sciatica Too, never good.

Trix I'm so pleased you're doing so well!! And brilliant news on the sleep front Grin

Fox I feel your pain on the falling over front. I went through a phase of being really unsteady. I got quite a few bruises Wink though it was mainly my pride that was damaged Grin. Glad to hear you're ok other than that though, ways a good thing.

Hope you're doing ok Pen

ThedementedPenguin · 20/03/2014 08:12

Trix yes I'm after Maybe I'm really hoping this baby comes soon and I don't go 2 weeks over again. I'm not sure id cope if I did.

Too sciatica is awful. Sorry physio didn't last too long but hopefully you'll get a break from pains for a while.

Trix glad you and N are doing well. I bet he is getting big and beautiful.

H is the same, I'm trying to get him to walk more but he just wants carried. Even around the house and he has got such a temper if he doesn't get his way. Dreading having a tiny baby in the room when he starts to throw his toys.

Maybe yes I'm good. Nothing much to report, still getting lots of pains and twinges but nothing else happening. Have scan tomorrow so fingers crossed I get a few more answers. How's you? Smile

cartoontrickster · 20/03/2014 11:44

yup best looking baby I've ever seen Wink . anyone who sees him for the first time says how tiny he is! he's 10wks now and I reckon he's around 10lbs probably a bit more actually I need to get him weighed next wk. he was weighed 2wks ago and was 9lbs 7oz. so I guess he still is small.
pen & maybe what are/were your due dates?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2014 12:31

Small but perfectly formed Trix Wink. My EDD is Monday Smile

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Pen, I'm sure all will be well. I'm ok, I think my body is getting ready, I've lost bits if plug and have been having on-off contractions, so maybe within the next week I might have a baby Smile

cartoontrickster · 20/03/2014 13:16

yay! how exciting maybe. is everything all ready for the arrival?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2014 15:43

I think so Trix!!! As ready as we are going to be anyway Wink

musicalmrs · 20/03/2014 16:16

Eeeeek Maybe that's so exciting! Brooking for a lovely sneeze birth soon Grin

Pomme, I did indeed move when pregnant with DD1 too! Glutton for punishment Wink. We hadn't planned on moving so quickly (estimated 5yrs in this house), but a combination of a good fixed rate mortgage being available, help to buy, the perfect house and DH now being able to work from home lots of the time mean it's a good time to move. Plus I'll have MA to cover the gap when we move, meaning I won't suffer too much from a lack of students!

Too, so sorry to hear about the physio work not sticking. You should definitely get a workplace assessment. When pregnant with DD I had one (due to my back as well as pregnancy), and it meant I didn't have to lug heavy keyboards around schools, teaching rooms had to be set up by the teaching staff etc. I'm sure they didn't love me for it, but my work were very insistent!

Lovely scan news Dino

Thanks for the well wishes Smegs, Maybe and Too (and anyone else I missed out). Scan not until next Thursday. Can't believe it's still so far away... especially as I look huge and am firmly into maternity clothing now. Have an important work day in London tomorrow (which I don't do very often) and nothing to wear that doesn't make me look about six months pregnant Confused. The cramping and pain is on and off... I think it's a combination of sickness, stretching, and clothes in general being uncomfortable... probably plus a lot of nervousness. The lack of sleep isn't helping either!

We've potentially reserved a house, so waiting for the paperwork to go through to see if we've got it or not. If we have, we could be moving as soon as a month and a half - eek! On the plus side, this house has a perfect kitchen/dining room for a home birth.. Wink

keepitgoing · 20/03/2014 18:27

how exciting maybe Grin Grin Grin good luck lovely, can't wait to hear the news
