Woo hoo for being officially full-term, Pen! Ouch at stabbing pains in cervix, though - I remember those well.
Maybe, no further cramps/weird feelings yet? By the way, you two nearly-therers, are we going to get a live birth thread with minute-by-minute labour updates from either of you? I love me a good birth thread.
Stacks, how's your back? Did you get to the physio class? I've just got back from my private physio appt and it seemed v good. Basically, she asked me questions about where I was feeling pain, and then got me to lie down on my back, felt my hip bones and said that she could feel that one was significantly higher than the other. She then asked me to lie on my side and massaged my back and top of my bum for approx 10 mins, and then she came round, pulled my knee up and manipulated my hip until it went back into the right place! I was v impressed. It didn't hurt at all, and she told me up front that it wouldn't hurt me or the baby. She said that in fact, it would mean that the baby had more space to lie comfortably and he's certainly been wiggling around a lot since then. Then she put some sticking plaster around my back and hips to hold me in place until it settles - it's waterproof so it'll last 2 or 3 days. My hips may not stay aligned as the baby grows, but at least they're back in place atm. I was possibly most impressed by the fact that she said I didn't need to make a follow-up appt until it started to hurt again - I was expecting her to recommend regular appts at £37 a pop and I was worried about affording it! So if it starts hurting again I'll phone for another appt (and I still have the NHS appt in the pipeline, although it's not for another 6 weeks). I'm now totally paranoid that I'll put it straight back out of line, but FX it stays put for a bit.
She also said that I should go back after the baby is here to make sure my pelvis is aligned, as core exercises/pelvic floors won't work very effectively if it isn't. She said I should wait until after I've finished bf, so I explained that that might be a long way down the line as I only stopped bf M a few weeks ago and she's 2, so she amended it to after the baby starts solids at 5/6 months. If I'm in pain earlier I can go back, but relaxin levels will still be high and although they can realign my pelvis, it might not stay put which would mean more appts, more money and less effect.
