Lots of people I know were lucky enough not to get any symptoms in pregnancy and and others report that each pregnancy is very different - some with no symptoms, some with loads, and not necessarily with any order or explanation. Reading these posts makes you realise how different we all are in our experiences. I just think it's normal for most pregnant ladies to worry!
topmammyI would feel the same about an episode of south park and vomitting! I also struggle with the vitamins and sometimes can't face the big ones so take just the little folic acid ones I bought as well.
Congratulations Oneinamillion that's wonderful news.
I am 8 weeks today (due 27th Sep) and haven't had a scan yet. This has been my toughest week so far in terms of nausea, dizziness, tiredness and headaches. I think the hormones surge in little waves, and when they do, I get a day of really bad headaches, tiredness and dizziness (the nausea seems to always be a constant). That's my own little theory I've developed! I haven't got my booking appointment yet or scan date. I'm eating only very simple foods like white bread and chicken and rice.
whiteblossom - my GP told me that as progesterone rises (to allow smooth muscle of uterus to stretch), it also relaxes the smooth muscle of the blood vessels which then causes low blood pressure and therefore dizziness. The body is also trying to increase the blood volume to fill these relaxed blood vessels, but this takes most of the first trimester to happen, hence dizziness in the first trimester. Drinking loads of fluids helps.
waybullony glad all good with your scan - sounds like a lovely experience.
Broody I read somewhere that sickness and symptoms tend to peak at 9 weeks. I'm hoping mine start easing soon.
kk I'm drinking fruit juice watered down at the moment. Today I had fresh cranberry juice diluted with water. I've gone off tea, coffee and even my favourite orange squash.
My boobs are so uncomfortable at night, I bought myself some pyjamas with boob support in them, which has really helped. I never normally wear pyjamas but I love these. I'd highly recommend to anyone in the same position.
