for anyone struggling to hide the bump i have started to use a hair bobble on my pants button. they fit fine while i am standing but i have a desk job, sitting for 8 hours in tight pants is no longer an option, i have found that if i dont use the hair bobble then i get cramps in the afternoon.

so hair bobble and long tops to the rescue!!

Lottiedoubtie · 14/02/2014 11:22

whiteblossom Much sympathy and empathy here. Trust me you aren't the only one feeling like this! I don't know what causes the dizziness either but it's horrible isn't it?

I just have to keep forcing myself to believe that it won't last forever and clinging on to normality.

That said- do see your doctor they may be able to shed more light than me!

RhubarbCrumble1 · 14/02/2014 11:27

Don't be offended if you are asked to blow in tube. In the area I work The carbon monoxide test picked up dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide levels in a non smoking pregnant woman and was discovered she had a faulty gas fire in rented accommodation. Possibly prevented the death of her and whole family x

boldandbeautiful · 14/02/2014 13:16

May I join? I am according to scan, 9+3 today.
This is my second baby and my son is just 9months.
I have had a very hard couple of weeks as I had to go cold turkey from breastfeeding him and it wiped me out though am ok now.
Thanks all

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/02/2014 13:17

Happy valentines day ladies Thanks xx

Received a,consultant appointment through the post today, it's in April. Now just waiting for 12week scan to come through xx

broodylicious · 14/02/2014 13:20

kt I'm exactly the same - I haven't had a scan yet (still no date and I'm 10weeks today) and I absolutely do not feel even the slightest bit pregnant right now. Not even bloated anymore. I'm so worried. What will be will be though....

broodylicious · 14/02/2014 13:21

Welcome bold xx don't envy you with the cold Turkey breastfeeding situation. My 22 m o is not giving up for love nor money!

whiteblosson and Lottie dizziness could be low blood pressure which is common first trimester - get up slowly, eat little and often. Sorry to hear you've been so sick x
I've got my scan date through -10th March (12+5 by midwife's sums, 13wks by my dates which I think are more accurate as I know when I ovulated. 3 1/2 weeks to wait -arrghhh! I'm also losing symptoms - feeling less sick etc. Trying to be optimistic. :)

BooSurprise · 14/02/2014 15:47

My constant nausea has been replaced by heartburn, I've had it fairly badly through my last 2 pregnancies so I'm not surprised, but it would have been nice to have a couple of days respite, not straight from one to the other.
Scan finally 2 weeks today, and then I can start to think how I might break the news to work, that I am returning from mat leave pregnant, I'm sure it's not that uncommon, but I'm not sure they are going to be particularly pleased!

Lottiedoubtie · 14/02/2014 16:11

katharine you could be right, I've had low blood pressure before and my balance is off at the moment as well.

So far today I have done precisely nothing except throw up and eat (and only because the throwing up is worse if I don't eat).

waybuloony · 14/02/2014 16:45

Well just had my 12 week scan...awww it was lovely!
The fabulous sonographer kindly let my DH and two DS in once she'd taken the measurements so it was a great way to tell (or rather show) the children the news. The older one was so excited he told everyone else in the waiting room, cafe, at the bus stop and on the bus on the way home! Bless!
Now I can start to tell people - hooray! Though strangely I feel a little silly telling my parents - it's as though they expected us to stop at two so somehow feel a bit naughty that we're having a third...
Oh, and due date a little later than originally thought - it's 3rd Sep.

Lottiedoubtie · 14/02/2014 16:51

Aw congratulations! Lovely news. Smile

BexBoo12 · 14/02/2014 16:54

Kt, my scan is also 26th!!! Grin

CumbrianExile · 14/02/2014 17:29

KT I havent had a scan yet either, but luckily only have to wait until Tuesday. Its going to be a long weekend!

Way great news about the scan. But I don't think you will get a chance to tell anyone the way your eldest is going Grin

Cindy5389 · 14/02/2014 18:10

I was told a similar story when I did my carbon monoxide test at my appt. Lady and husband both non-smokers showed up high and found a fault with the heating.. Glad u have had ur 12 week scan waybuloony and everything went well. R u the first person to have a 12 week scan on here? I have officially outgrown my trousers at work. I also have a desk job like rockin20s. Good job I have just ordered maternity trousers from New Look. Pick them up tomorrow. I hope they look ok. (I tried wearing a bigger size trousers at work last week, but everyone kept asking if I had lost weight - felt more akward than if they had said I'm putting on weight). I have definately got a slight bump now. Good job I have been able to keep my works fleece on all the time, which covers it.

broodylicious · 14/02/2014 19:57

It's remarkable isn't it about this carbon monoxide stuff? I just assumed most people have a carbon monoxide reader these days - ours cost about £15 and we have it not far from where the boiler is, it flashes to let you know it's working and beeps if it picks up any nasties. It's v reassuring. Maybe we just have one because my dad is a heating engineer Wink

OP posts:
Lottiedoubtie · 14/02/2014 19:59

No heating engineers here and we have a detector. I still think it's a smokers test to be completely honest!

LH1981 · 14/02/2014 20:20

Hi Ladies,

waybuloony that's great news, so pleased for you! Smile
katharine mine is the 11th March so we must have similar due dates?

I think the ms may be a little better today as haven't felt too bad and even made it into town to get a new pair of wellies!

And I've become addicted to bruschetta - had it for lunch and dinner. Slice of warm bruschetta, topped with avocado, fresh tomatoes, finely diced red onion and mozerella with a yummy drizzle of balsalmic glaze. Yum Yum!
And someone mentioned about orange lollies - well, went and got some and it really helps with the nausea! xx

KatharineClover · 14/02/2014 20:32

LH1981 that sounds so tasty! My taste buds have gone into full student mode - crisps and pop tarts! I have bought pineapple and strawberries to try to be more healthy :) My due date is 15th -17th March (I have short cycles, but mw has put me down as 17th, I think 15th!)
DH made me cry happy tears today as he got me a beautiful pregnancy and newborn diary :)

broodylicious · 14/02/2014 20:42

LH yay! Glad the lollies work for you too. Honestly, they made me feel so much better when I had ms. I saw someone else here had discovered sorbet and I imagine that'd be similar to the calippo effect Smile Pretzels seemed to settle me too, think it's the salt.

OP posts:
broodylicious · 15/02/2014 06:50

Ok ladies, I'm getting myself into a tizz. I've no more symptoms - ms, dizziness, nausea, sore boobs all gone - and am worried. Don't even feel pregnant. With dd, I was sick as a dog til 16-18 weeks so I'm comparing it with that I guess. Maybe it's cos we've had mmc and mc on this thread and it's making me paranoid. But even so, I'm shit scared.
Do any of you no longer have symptoms? Sounds as though many of you are still really struggling with ms so prob not....

OP posts:
BexBoo12 · 15/02/2014 07:39

Broody how many weeks are you? All symptoms disappeared for me too about 7 weeks, but came back about 9 and a half weeks - well I say come back, it's only nausea I'm suffering from so getting off lightly compared with some of the ladies here.

Symptoms come and go, you shouldn't worry. And I know it's hard not to, but try not to compare it to your last pregnancy, every pregnancy is different hun x

broodylicious · 15/02/2014 08:06

I'm 10+1 bex. You're right, everyone and each pregnancy is different. Just so hard not to worry. Particularly as I still haven't got my scan date - maybe if I had that, I'd have something to work towards. I'll try not to think about it. Hopefully all is well and I'm just lucky not to suffer this time around! Few more weeks on and I'd be able to feel kicking and shoving so that'd give me some reassurance.

OP posts:
tiredallthetime123 · 15/02/2014 08:37

Sorry ladies- not been on for weeks....Broody I have no symptoms to speak of. I am 11+4 and had a scan at 8+3 because I had worked myself into such a tizz reading this thread and comparing myself to other MNetters- everyone else seemed so much more 'pregnant' than me- lol. Honestly, I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant I actually felt weird when I saw the little bleepy wriggler on the screen! I think ladies on MN might often to come on to share their symptoms and ladies with no symptoms probably don't have as much to say because by definition there isn't as much to talk about so maybe MN isn't a great representation? I don't know really but Please try not to be worried, we can't change what will happen and just think this is supposed to be a special time for us all, with all our different symptoms or non symptoms! I am sure you will be fine as will I and all the people with purple wee and green smoke coming out their ears too! xxx

waybuloony · 15/02/2014 09:02

I agree with tired, every pregnancy is different and people tend to post more on here if they need a bit of support or reassurance.
I had very few symptoms in the first trimester with either of my first two pregnancies (in fact I'd regularly forget I was pregnant) but this one is completely different - a lot more hard work!
Broody try to relax and be thankful you've few symptoms but maybe chase that scan date. Any ideas why you've not got one through yet? It does seem a tad delayed.
