Hi Selly! Welcome. You're my due date buddy - am due 19th August too :-)

Ooh flymo...off to look too....I'm afraid I am in the anti nct brigade. ...very hard sell from my experience and very forthright with their views. ...again just my experience but I did go to one meeting (not the classes just the overall nct meeting) and decided that whilst it may suit lots of people it wasn't for me!

Scan was great! All fine baby waving and moving but also still for pics which was great!! I'm also a week ahead of what I thought!! 13+3 so will change the stats in a min :) had a reading of 1.4 which is good isn't it? Women seemed happy, will hear any bad news within 48hrs from bloods but fx all seems okay :)

My tuppence worth is that I've heard that NCT can be very pushy re breast feeding and birth without intervention, which is all very well and good.

But...some people don't want to BF. Others, like me, just couldn't supply enough milk. It's not right to tell mothers who don't want to / can't breast feed that they're wrong, or worse.

And with intervention, well, I'd have preferred to give birth without, but ultimately DD's (and my) safety came first, so I had an EMCS. And because of that birth I can't face trying a VBAC as I'm too scared / traumatised to. I don't need telling I'm wrong about that, either!

But, it does depend on your tutor, so they aren't all like that.

Owly, is yours a giant baby too, or could you have conceived earlier? I think mine is tall, rather than my dates wrong as I was also moved forward a week!

Hi all -I've been feeling really tired/lazy lately so not posted much, but been smiling at all the happy news.

We've started telling people now and so far no surprises or annoying comments to speak of (apart from a male friend I've come to thing of as a complete chauvinist asking OH when they're going out getting pissed- in Bloody September for my birthday, when I'm allowed to join in, that's when!).

Great news owly, my scan went well aswell, exact dates that I thought. Lots of movement and putting hands to their face.

Not sure hungry, scanner said the baby looked like at 13+ week baby as well!! So we shall see! At least they won't leave us ages overdue I suppose!!

Oh god we told people tonight and had an awful reaction 'fingers crossed its a boy' how bloody rude!!!! Also who do I pm for Facebook??

That's different to a 12+ baby, I should say?!

Apparently the spine and stuff looked very developed...I don't know really!! It did look big but who knows what that means! Will pm you now!!

I am also having the NCT debate with DH. I'm keen, he thinks it's a rip off, at £342 for our local class I can see his point. May see if I can find a cheaper one locally.

Scan tomorrow, really nervous now! Keep switching between nerves that the baby is ok and nerves about being told it's twins (we currently live in a one-bed flat.)

Just really hoping all is well. Had to get out of the shower to be sick this morning and have felt queasy all day. It's the first time I've actually been sick. Thought it was supposed to get better at this point, not worse!

Congratulations on the happy scans today!

Another day another drama here. Took a bit of a tumble and landed heavily on my left side. Some bruising mainly to my leg and hand. Any previously pregnant people had falls before and was it all ok? I know baby is pretty cushioned and safe at 12 weeks but reassurance would be nice. No pains or bleeding since. Thanks everyone...

You poor thing, mssleepyhead, that must have been a shock. I am sure the baby will have been so well protected it won't have noticed a thing - at this point your uterus is barely poking above the pelvic bone anyway. Focus on looking after yourself after such a horrible thing, and you will automatically be doing the best for the baby.

I felt a little nauseas today too. First time in ages .
There is no way I will be doing any NCT classes. I'm a poor student that needs to save every penny for when the baby arrives. I guess I will just have to hang around parks when baby arrives and hope someone pity's me enough to make friends . Can't believe what some things cost just because it involves pregnant ladies. I know we are a soft target with our hormones being all over the place, but really!?!
