apparently this

FriendofDorothy · 14/02/2014 20:45

I was tested but it is routine over here. Not sure why. Maybe they have a higher incidence rate.

SinkyMalinks · 15/02/2014 08:34

Thanks faife. Dor - I saw on a strep b website that where you are (almost outed you!) and 3 or 4 other places do routinely screen on the NHS. If no where did I'd be happier, it's just the inconsistency.

Was it a urine test or swab for you?

(Lovely early sat am conversation...)

FriendofDorothy · 15/02/2014 10:19

Swab - lovely. Would have been humiliating had I not been used to baring my arse for everything else.

Great. Now I NEED a chocolate orange cupcake :)

My parents are visiting me this weekend. There is a lot of Touching happening from my mother. All my parts, I was prepared for belly touching but not arm stroking. Confused

SinkyMalinks · 15/02/2014 13:07

At least it's not face stroking....

Yet.

Ahoy thar, bugs Grin (I dunno why I'm being a pirate, it just seemed like a good moment)

Today I successfully got two (two!) potential dresses for my friend's wedding on Friday. Neither is particularly dressy/formal, but both are a damn sight better than denim... Also, my friend is stunning at the worst of times, so suspect on her wedding day no-one will be able to keep their eyes off her, so I could probably wear a bin bag and get away with it Grin

In other news, MIL has checked out the pram we wanted (it's not available round us, of course, HOTB's shopping skills strike again), it passes muster, so we've ordered one. By this time next week, we should be the proud owners of a BabyJogger City Versa GT Hmm it sounds more fancy than our car...

I sympathise with the touching, winks. That is a bit weird.

FrankelInFoal · 16/02/2014 08:36

Well done on stopping by Bugs, we'll keep a seat nice and warm for you. Looking at maternity clothes is not stupid either, perfectly normal and, in all honesty, if you're still very bloated an elastic acted waistband could be just the ticket!

Well done on tracking down the dresses Draf, where did you go in the end?

I had an awful night's sleep on Friday due to the wind around here (weather wind, not personal wind Grin. I woke up at 2am and couldn't get back to sleep so got up and lay on the sofa with the cat till 7am. I dozed a bit but felt like a zombie for most of yesterday.

We has our final antenatal class yesterday morning, which was baby care. We went over holding, dressing, changing nappies, bathing, sleep, etc which was all very useful. The teacher recommended we look at breast feeding support groups now if we plan to BF as many of them like differs to come along for tips/advice before the baby arrives.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome here, bugs!

Just a quick wave...

maamalady · 16/02/2014 13:05

Hi driz :)

I got one from debenhams and one from Jojo, frank. They're both ordinary summer dresses, but with the addition of a pretty cardigan and scarf they will do. At least maternity clothes shopping is quick, because there's so little choice!

That might be a good idea Bugs, given that it's you that's suggesting it. Make sure it's on your terms, iyswim. Phased return, at your own pace.

Have they have sorted out your stupid manager, haven't they?

And as for the crystal ball... It would be great wouldn't it? Or the oft mentioned womble window/sunroof/spycam.

I've finally caved and bought some maternity jeans from h&m. I may never leave these trousers. They are the most comfortable thing known to man.

Oh Bugs we've all been there Blush

Come in for hand holding/fish dunking whenever you need it.

SinkyMalinks · 16/02/2014 18:55

Gowan then

It's tough bugs, but stop menkulling! (Hollow laugh). Remember people run, have sex, sneeze (eh frank?) in pregnancy. You have done no harm.

Bloody cats though? Mine likes to jump onto the bump. I think he thinks it's like an airbag, or those giant air filled cushions the firebrigade put at the bottom of burning buildings...

My nipples were the first thing to get bigger in the nork department Bugs, and my boobs never really got sore, every woman/pregnancy is different so try not to put too much store by what others say and what has gone before.

FriendofDorothy · 16/02/2014 21:23

Thank God my boobs didn't get any bigger. I would need a wheelbarrow for them!

maamalady · 16/02/2014 21:25

My boobs were huge and painful until about week ten, and after that they were just huge. I've noticed over the last couple of months that my nipples are getting bigger and bigger, though. Maybe they'll never stop and eventually I'll just be nipple all over... Shock

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 07:41

Good luck with your scan today Euro.

I'm starting to have weird preggo dreams - last night I dreamt my mum announced that my being pregnant had made her broody so she was going to have another baby - aged 60 Hmm

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 07:47

Hmm at that dream frank. I dreamt I was bleeding, which was rather unpleasant. I think it was a touch of constipation making my insides unhappy.

My boobs started a large and grew ENORMOUS in the first three weeks of diffment. At 12 weeks I finally admitted I really needed new bras and I've been living in the single fitting one since. No more growth, but as draf's my nips seem to be taking over now. Still a while to go before it's all nipple, though... Mine hurt occasionally, but not in any reliable way.

I need a nice summer dress too draf. Two friends getting married when I am 32 and 39 weeks respectively. I told the latter not to count on us, but if I am going I don't just want to look like a beached whale.

Can I go on leave too. I've noticed an increasing can't be arsed with work attitude... But I had a midwife appointment on Friday at which I cried from exhaustion and at least part of the reason I have become a lazy blob is that I have really low blood pressure. She told me to eat more salt :) and take it easy, which I shall.
