When are you due to finish Drizz? I found going back to work after Christmas a real struggle - knowing I only had 4 weeks left, having just had almost 2 weeks off, was a real drag.

I've also got low blood pressure, though it's alwYs been naturally low. It's why I get my dizzy spells, so do keep an eye on yourself.

Today's project is to crack on with my assignments, double check my hospital bag and sort out a changing station downstairs. My best friend came over yesterday and was giving me lots of helpful tips on what we'd need where and also showed us a sneaky outfit changing trick to save time!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 08:23

Still 12 more weeks of work (which is 4 weeks before EDD). And so much to do... I get quite stressed if I think what I really want to have finished before leave since they're not replacing me, it's all waiting from me on the other side. It's just frustrating how much better I feel during weekends when I do very little some things, but nap as well, and feel no pressure to achieve. The midwife recommended naps as well, whenever I can. I shall take her advice. When I woke up at 5am, Lembie did too, which was adorable, but made going back to sleep even harder than it is generally.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 08:23

Assignments and hospital bags, good combo, frank. I hope turnip plays ball and let's you finish at least some of them!

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 08:31

Can you have some days working from home Drizz, even just 1 day a week might be enough to keep you going.

Naps are definitely the way forward. I had a 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon, though the downside was I didn't go to bed till midnight as I didn't feel tired Hmm

My BF reckons I'll go full term, having examined my bump. Her reasoning is that Turnip is still quite wriggly, so there are no size pressures forcing her to consider leaving her comfy home just yet!

FriendofDorothy · 17/02/2014 08:38

I am bloody knackered this morning. The Little Mister decided to wake up for about an hour in the middle of the night. I am officially too old for night wakings.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 08:46

Work is actually quite flexible, so I am aiming at doing 2 days per week from home (with naps) and three days at work. I work at two different locations, 1hr and 1.5 hrs commute away. So working from home buys me 2-3 hours nap/MN-time just by cutting out the commute. I think I'll be okay. But I was a bit of a cross with myself for not performing as I usually do and actually struggling, even though this is supposed to be the wonderful 2nd trimester. The midwife and SB in joined effort have made me realise I was being a little too hard on myself and I should just pace myself to make it til leave...

Sorry about the lack of sleep dor. Any chance of a sneaky nap? At work perhaps?

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/02/2014 09:18

How I wish working from home was an option. The act of getting up & ready is as draining as the work itself.

Sorry about the horrible dreams frank. I dreamed I had gone out and got steaming drunk whilst diffed, I was hung over and full of shame at what I'd done. Stupid dream.

Baby has been very lively this last couple of days. Its absolutely delightful :)

FriendofDorothy · 17/02/2014 09:19

I dream of a nap today but unfortunately Monday is a busy day of work followed by choir so no chance!

FriendofDorothy · 17/02/2014 09:21

Oh, apparently The Mister came to bed last night and I was chatting away in my sleep about 'giant bollocks and standing on them'. How random!

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 09:33

That's a good one Dor, perhaps The Mister will take it as a veiled threat Wink

I had a potential PFB moment this morning when I considered sitting down to cut all the labels out of the baby clothes we have so that they don't scratch Turnip. Is this some hormone induced insanity or should I actually be doing it? Blush

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/02/2014 09:39

I would cut the labels out of the layers that go against her skin, if there are any. Labels that sit above her vests won't annoy her.

I was surprised by how strongly I felt at the idea of my mum wanting to put a scratchy looking petticoat under Baby's christening dress. Her 5 week old skin doesn't need to be annoyed by that.

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/02/2014 09:47

My mum was also 'really disappointed' I had bought a christening dress, as she had wanted to make one out of my wedding dress Hmm At no point did I say I wanted my wedding dress cut to pieces!

dor that sounds like a good dream. Shame you can't remember it. Is there any chance of leaving work early or skipping choir? You need to look after yourself, you are Important.

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 09:53

That sounds like a good half-way house Winks.

Sorry your mum wasn't more supportive about the dress, I thought it was lovely. Besides it's your flippin' baby so you dress her how you want!

maamalady · 17/02/2014 09:56

It's a lovely dress, winks - definitely no need to chop up your wedding dress!

I dropped HOTB at work earlier, and have found the car exhaust is this close >< to falling off Angry Given that the garage replaced the middle section six weeks ago, I suspect they didn't fasten it on properly... So, I'm housebound today, but at least they can look at it tomorrow. While I'm stuck at home, I'm doing a million washing loads - am slightly annoyed that bedding now takes two loads because of all my extra pillows! That's a diffage-related issue I hadn't foreseen Grin

eurochick · 17/02/2014 11:55

bugs I had some terrible pains after sneezing/stretching in the early weeks. Everything is stretching and rearranged in there. I think it's normal.

Thanks frank.

The scan and Harmony results were both good. My age related risk of Down's was 1/131, but the combined result takes it to 1/2,600, and the Harmony result to 1/10,000. The results for Edward's and Patau's were similar. So I can breath easy, on that score at least. Now I'm going to let myself order some maternity clothes, as I am sitting in here with my zip halfway undone, which isn't a good look.

SinkyMalinks · 17/02/2014 11:59

Great news Euro. And now you can get some clothes that fit.

Have you looked at Isabella Oliver? They seem to be the most appropriate smart work clothes I've found.

Hurrah! Excellent news, euro :)

Sneezing is definitely the devil's work wrt womble pains. And getting up from sitting or lying down. Or sometimes just turning over in bed... Hmm

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/02/2014 12:24

Great news Euro... Can we swing the tassels now?Grin
All those pains are caused by the round ligaments...perfectly normal but yes, pretty painful. Lots on the tinterweb about how you can strengthen them and ensure your pelvis stays in balance if you're interested

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 12:44

Hurrah for excellent scanage and test results Euro Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/02/2014 12:50

Hurrah for excellent results, euro. Time to believe and get some clothes that fit :)

MyNameIsWinkly · 17/02/2014 12:53

Hooray euro :) Now for the love of all that's good in the world, buy some trousers that fit!! Grin

FrankelInFoal · 17/02/2014 12:56

I love my JoJo trousers. I lived in them in the office over the last 5 months Grin

SinkyMalinks · 17/02/2014 13:35

But avoid their jeans, unless you want a diamanté butterfly on your arse pocket...

(This is based on a Internet purchase of 1 and therefore does not represent all their stuff! They went back, but I do have an overworn cardigan from jojo)

eurochick · 17/02/2014 13:36

Thanks ladies. I've had a quick browse at maternity wear but been too scared to look properly. IO and Seraphine seem to be best for workwear I think? It's tricky trying to find things that will take me from Feb to August (inshallah and all that).

eurochick · 17/02/2014 13:38

I actually dislike interwebby shopping for clothes, but there doesn't seem to be much choice but to do it that way for mat wear.
