Merk - a cheap multipack nursing top or nighty? I've not found any cheap nursing tops!

I just need to go to primark, don't i? (Shudder - that would mean braving town)

My tesco is truly rubbish - it's an "extra" but despite that didn't have any big pants (well, did in size 8 and 22 - neither terribly useful) or suitable nighties. Maybe after the extensive selection of red nylon for valentines has gone I'll look again.

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 19:47

It was a cheap multipack nursing top... Will try and remember where from/get link later

FriendofDorothy · 12/02/2014 20:43

Sorry, the phrase "packing my pants" has just left me in hysterics and snorting embarrassingly.

During labour I ended up very quickly wearing nothing but a bra. I was so hot and didn't want anything on!

ALittleFaith · 12/02/2014 20:59

This is quite amusing to me after being at work most of the day!

Er yes I had a serious case of swollen lady lips. At a certain point the sechsing became challenging. On the lady garden front, I used hair removal cream but quite frankly it was the last thing on my mind during labour. I did all my labour in t-shirt and jeans until I said I was ready to push and they took my jeans and knickers off and Faithlet popped out!

I wore one nighty then switched to baggy pjs because I felt too exposed with the other women's DPs on the ward.

GingerScouse · 12/02/2014 21:05

'Sup hags. Scan was good, there's definitely only one in there, wriggling around with all limbs accounted for! Edd pushed forward to 13th August! Grin

I'm fretting a bit about the NT measurement though - 3.1mm, although when she measured it at a different angle it was 1.9 Confused. I should really step away from Google..

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 21:27

Great news ginge. Don't fret about the NT, do you know which one they've taken as your official measurement? Both are normal range though, although I know it'd be nice to know it's the thinner one!

OP posts:
GingerScouse · 12/02/2014 21:31

They've put 3.1 on my official report. Hoping the bloodwork doesn't make it worse!

FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 21:35

Glad your scan was good Ginge, don't worry too much if you can about the NT measurement, there is quite a variation of "normal" and you should get your letter within 7 days.

FriendofDorothy · 12/02/2014 21:52

Ooo Ginge they wanted to push my date forward to 15 August because of the length of the baby but I am sure of my dates so I stuck to the 18th. The scan the obstetrician today was completely consistent for dates with my original EDD.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/02/2014 07:57

Hurrah ginge for a good scan. That is quite a range for the NT - fingers crossed it's all good when you get the results.

LALALALA Too much information all over the place, I am distressed Grin This bag packing business and not being able to wipe one's bum...

But sinks I am happy to confirm we're definitely team blue too.

I cannot believe the comments about twins you're getting draf. That is insensitive. Since I've started showing the world is on me with alternating "your bump is too small for five months" and "your bump is way too big for five months", so I am concluding it's perfectly normal. And there is a lot of unsollicited birth stories. I keep trying to shut them up, but failing...

FrankelInFoal · 13/02/2014 08:52

It really does seem that once the world knows you are pregnant the whole world feels entitled to comment on your bump size/give you childbirth horror stories. I've been told the same about my bump - too big/too small/just right. I'm not farking Goldilocks!!!!!

I think we just need to master the art of "smile and nod" whilst inwardly imagining them in extreme pain. I'm sure the same people will have opinions on our parenting technique once the baybee arrives too Hmm

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 14/02/2014 09:39

Smiling and nodding. Hmm I tend to just get cross. After my complaints on here, I had my otherwise lovely and amazing boss touch my bump. I told her in no uncertain terms that even my mother is not allowed to do that. But after her begging I promised to let her touch Lembie's foot if it starts sticking out in an obvious manner. She's amazing and has known and supported the whole journee. But still. I have some personal space boundaries...

FrankelInFoal · 14/02/2014 09:54

Some people just have no concept of personal space. I can report that LP did ask if she could touch my bump yesterday so she doesn't fall into that category Wink

SinkyMalinks · 14/02/2014 15:37

Last lecture done (not my best ever....)

2 week countdown. 10 days to mat leave...

Can't wait!

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 14/02/2014 16:01

Hurrah for last lecture! I'll be honest, I am so glad I finished work when I did! I don't think I'd have been able to cope at work based on how tired I've been the last 2 weeks!

SinkyMalinks · 14/02/2014 16:31

How's the work going Frank? Have you got the assignments you wanted done? I really need to pull my finger out this weekend and get corrections done on my thesis (and some bits needing a bit more than correction - I can't bear to say rewrite!), then I can relax a bit more. Work itself, I'm hoping to cruise with short days!

Got a little told off today for not having a hosp bag at 36 weeks... Will pull something together soon...

Oh, did mean to ask, have you hags all been tested for strep b? My area don't test for it, but would treat if it's known about (either via private testing or incidental finding). I need to decide if I'm going to get tested privately. Think I might...

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 14/02/2014 16:38

No one has mentioned Strep B to me so no idea if I've been tested for it!

One assignment is finished and submitted; one is about 2/3rds done and the other I've just started today. The one I've just started is due to be handed in by 3 March and the other one by 4 April.

SinkyMalinks · 14/02/2014 16:52

4th April? Confused. That might prove interesting! In fact, if turnip makes an early appearance, 3rd march might be interesting Wink

Saw midwife today. Baby head down and "very low, but not in the pelvis yet"... I dread to think how sore it'll be when he is!

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 14/02/2014 16:57

They've said I'm ok to ask for extensions, but I'd like to have them out of the way all the same!

I've been getting pummelled today, plus Turnip feels like she's prodding at the exit with her fingers which is really uncomfortable

maamalady · 14/02/2014 17:09

Strep B? No, no mention at all, as far as I can remember. I guess it's one of those "big problems if it happens, but it happens rarely enough that it wouldn't be effective use of NHS funding to do routine screening" things?

maamalady · 14/02/2014 17:10

PS, that sounds rather unpleasant, Frank! Hope she gives over soon Confused

SinkyMalinks · 14/02/2014 17:35

That's the one draf. I asked my midwife, and she said it wasn't tested on the NHS, but they would treat if known. And told me how to get tested, and that it would be £30.. Just don't know if that was her encouraging me to get it checked, or a professional letting me know all my options..

You'd think I'd have an opinion, what with my job n'all. But I don't. Not when it's me.

OP posts:
ALittleFaith · 14/02/2014 19:38

My understanding is you should be in an 'at risk' category to need a strep B test and that's it not massively reliable.

SinkyMalinks · 14/02/2014 19:44

What would put you in the at risk group faife?

I've actually ordered a swab for testing online. It's free to get, you pay £30 when you send it off, so I can decide later...
