Me and my boy bump are feeling a bit outnumbered! Merk, do you know?

Congrats on all the good scans. And delighted to hear Bugs news!

In me news, and slightly less nice, I hate late pregnancy. I can't sleep, can't eat, am crying most evenings for no good reason. Argh. Potentially 7 weeks to go... Feels like forever. Harrumph.

FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 13:44

I've been crying more in the last week too Sinks, as well as my wobble the other night I had a proper cry at the intro to a repeat of OBEM last night. You know the, "Every minute, of every day a baby is born in Britain...". Didn't see any births, just the flaming intro Hmm

maamalady · 12/02/2014 13:50

Aww, you two are adorable Wink

I will be a wreck when I get to that point. I have already cried at the drop of a hat for years, so fuck knows what it'll do to me... (tears of shame include while watching Torchwood, Ice Age, and the end of Gran Turismo had me sobbing so much that HOTB started to get quite worried)

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 13:52

I think I've been scaring GHJ as well

He asks if I'm ok, and I either wail about being poorly (snotty nose, headache, aching bump, stupid bh when I walk/need the loo/look funny at something) or cry. I then have to reassure him that there's nothing scary wrong and that the midwife probably doesn't need to be rung.

Urgh. 2.5 weeks left at work. But sadly, I feel better doing something. So, I'm dreading mat leave because i know I'll sit on the sofa feeling sorry for myself in a fug of irritation.

And breath.....

4 years ttc. Need to remember, this is A Good Thing.

Oh dear, the teariness gets worse Shock.

Maybe you feel better in your leave sinks, as you get a bit more rest. I have been in floods of tears at work loads recently, because I have quite bad preggo-insomnia (still, whatever they said about the 2nd trimester is not true, altho apparently I look glowing...)

It won't be long for you frank Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 14:47

Sinks I will only add to the outnumbering I'm afraid, I'm pink flavoured too Grin
Also hating late pregnancy. Am wiped out today and it has taken an inhumane effort to leave the house. No idea how you are still working. Am having a wax so then its ok for miniMerk to arrive although not packed a hospital bag yet.
Think the crying is normal, I'm doing it too. VVTM is mostly blasé about it now as its happened a few times!

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 15:23

Bah! Team pink overload! Driz, I'm almost certain you're team blue?...

Glad I'm not the only crazy one, although it's sad we're all feeling so crap. Not long to go for the march 3...

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 16:24

Waxing? You brave thing Merks, I've been Immac-ing away but it's not easy when you can't see your foof!

Hospital bag is more or less packed, my tankini for the pool arrived today Grin. I've decided to take 2 bags - one main bag with all my gear for labour and one smaller bag with stuff like a towel for showering and a change of clothes to come home in, which can stay in the boot of the car until after the birth.

One assignment finished: 2 to go!

maamalady · 12/02/2014 16:26

Not long at all! Exciting stuff Grin

I'm not feeling at all crap (hooray!), but a little sad recently as lots of people have said "shame it's not twins" lately. I felt quite neutral about embie #2 not implanting, but the more twins are mentioned the more it feels like it could have happened. Though people did look a bit shocked when I said "me too, but the second one died" - it seems over-dramatic and a bit disingenuous as I was never pregnant with twins, but it is still an accurate statement. Hmm. Poor embie #2 and all my other not-good-enough-for-freezing embies. Maybe it's because baybee is moving, and is quite big now, so I feel a bit more safe - lets the "what ifs" have a bit more head space.

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 16:28

Do not go for a wax late in pregnancy. I was close to begging her to stop, I can't see it anyway! So painful

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 16:38

He he. I don't wax when undiffed and will not be starting now!

Might have to think about that hospital bag soonish though...

Glad you're feeling more secure draf, but sorry it's allowing head space for "what ifs". What are all those people thinking though? Why is any topic of conversation fair game in pregnancy?

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 17:31

Ouchy Merks Shock

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 18:01

Meh. I've got my tankini. Throw in a few baby grows and a pack of jelly babies and I'm set, right?

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 18:06

Don't forget the lipbalm Sinks Wink
I am half trying to tempt fate by not packing, and half just being a lazy arse

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 18:24

Oh yeah. Lip balm. And a drinking bottle (with sports cap, natch). And pound coins for parking.

Sorted.

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 18:29

Camera?
Anyone know if its normal for your lips to look swollen when pregnant? Or is this the result of my wax? As I haven't been able to see (or had the mirror out to look) I don't know if I have been packing my pants like this for a while or if this is a new thing Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 18:30
SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 18:35

Not been active with a hand mirror (tmi - I can barely wipe my bum, let alone look down there!), but from the feeling, I'd well believe it's all a bit swollen.

And I've got piles. Fecking hell.

This post is mainly so merk doesn't feel her sharing has killed it. My nether region chattiness may have done it though..

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 12/02/2014 18:38

I have recently lost sight of my bits, but have a vague memory of being informed that they were somewhat swollen looking.

MyNameIsWinkly · 12/02/2014 18:40

Swollen fanjos isn't tmi. Your aunt telling you that your uncle massaged her perineum for her, now that is tmi.

Some skinny runt with a bumfluff beard offered to sell me.cocaine in the train station today Shock

FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 18:40

Snap on the bum wiping Sinks & sorry I can't help on the "lips" front Merks, I've not seen my nethers for quite some time!

Extra things I've been told are useful for hospital bag :

Ear plugs
Eye mask
Straws for drinks
Large scarf/pashmina to put over birthing ball/use with standing hip rotations
Isotonic drinks - flat, not fizzy
Spare hair bands
iPod/CDs

SinkyMalinks · 12/02/2014 18:46

I always have about 4 (million) hair bobbles around my person (wrist, pocket, bag, gearstick, etc) so have that sorted!

I'm not really sure what to wear if/when I'm not in the pool. Are you planning on wearing old t-shirt/vest? I don't own a nighty and not sure I want to start wearing one (or pyjama tops). I'm predicting I'll be nekked pretty quick, but it might be sensible to have something...

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 18:52

I've bought some cheap cotton nighties that are long enough to cover my bum from a local Primark equivalent. They were £5 each so I don't care if they get trashed and need to be binned.

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 18:54

Fanks for making me feel better Grin

Lady at the hospital gave me a pee pot to do a sample the other week and I calmly and loudly pointed out to her that I could barely wipe my bum myself never mind aim into a tiny pot blind. She was a bit Shock but gave me something bigger

I'm going to wear a nursing vest for labour I think, I'm not a nightie person either. have one from a cheap multipack, but its black and long enough to cover my arse

FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 18:55

Something like this is ideal, £8 for 2.
