Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

ZingSweetApple · 02/02/2014 09:34

I'm up since 5.10amAngry

do you think it's like good/bad balance and there's a finite amount of sleep available so I was up just so you could sleep longer?Grin

I was watching Magnum PI and doing my sewing so it was ok though.
Wink

MrsA2 · 02/02/2014 10:21

If so then thank you very much Zing, I needed that! Hope you get a good night tonight instead

Howly · 02/02/2014 10:45

I'm still in bed here... It's lovely but I do feel sick so scared of actually getting out if bed just in case! I'm putting off my 60 year 9 geography assessments I need to mark by the end of the day too!! I could literally stay here all day! (Or for the rest of my pregnancy!!) so tired ??

liquidstate · 02/02/2014 11:12

ooh mummytobe we have almost decided on the wayfarer as well in the sand or lime green colour. That is a bargain price - if its online could you pm me the details?? pretty please Smile.

I have been awake since 3am with severe hip pain Sad. Have a drs appointment tomorrow and am calling the midwife first thing in the morning to get the ball rolling with diagnosis and treatment for SPD. I think I felt a kick or punch last night but the funny bubbly flutterings are still there.

I am off to town to look at maternity clothes in new look and H&M and then if it stays sunny will try and take dog for walk (he's a farm dog so not used to being on a lead and I am currently training him not to pull or trying to)

Plateofcrumbs · 02/02/2014 11:21

Smug alert here: have been out for a 4 mile run and then done 50 minutes of Pilates. First proper exercise in weeks, feels awesome!

Now I'm going to bake a cake and make marmalade.

mummytobejuly2014 · 02/02/2014 11:28

liquid its a small independent baby shop in our town. ive seen it on the babies r us website in black for £395. perhaps you could get the colour pack online somewhere?

MrsA2 · 02/02/2014 11:50

Great work Plate, glad you are feeling so well.

Think we're going to upgrade today's walk to a bike ride, at the end of a cold so feeling 50/50 but while the weather is good I want up make the most of it.

One bike route could end at Next, where I have a maternity dress waiting for me - so that's good motivation!

MrsB2013 · 02/02/2014 12:39

Hi all!! Hope everyone and their DC are feeling better!!

Mummy that's a really good price, I think we'll end up with the Wayfarer, it's not too big and seems to be easy to push! I really like the Uppababy Vista but the handle doesn't go low enough for me :(

I've bought some maternity jeans and trousers from Mothercare. They are the over bump style, but I just fold that bit down for now, and they are soooo comfy!

Is anyone having a scan at all this week?

icklekid · 02/02/2014 12:44

Yesterday was miserable but today is still nice so will try and go for a walk- would say jog but thats a bit ambitious with me back :-( plate so jealous!

mummy thanks for the tip thats a great price will have to look into that.

mrsa that's my kind of motivation!

My boden maternity leggings are so comfortable with a bit of growing room at top of the bump. Currently selling lots on gumtree to save some money for baby purchases. Almost won a beautiful leather changing bag on ebay but dh was cross I hadn't shown him before bidding then the price shot up!

icklekid · 02/02/2014 12:49

mrsb ohh I would love the uppababy vista just trying to justify cost but perhaps I would be too short too...may need to try it out

mummytobejuly2014 · 02/02/2014 13:01

the wayfayer won us over as the handle suits me, OH, the grannies to be. the free cupholder also won over the OH for "his coffee" (cant see him actually leaving the house at wknd to use it tho lol). super easy to push also, swivel front wheels can be locked if need be. also boots have 10% off if you spend £100 or more on baby. they have maxi cosI pebble for £110 so it would only be £100 and if u join baby club u get 10 points per pound so its £10 back in points so its really only £90 :) its also "airline approved"

jaykay987 · 02/02/2014 14:23

ahh zing I hope that is true. So whoever I have my sleep to last night - I hope you enjoyed it! Smile. - I've been up since 3am. I am dying already!

mrsb I'm really surprised. I'm super short (just under 5ft) and I think the handle height is
ok. But maybe I'm just so used to things being too high up - so I figured it was ok. How high do you think is too high?
We went to kiddicare yesterday abd tried it in the boot. It is large - but easily fits. How we will manage to go on holiday in September I've no idea! Once the pram is in - we won't have any space for a suitcase! Grin I'll have to do a lot of "loose" packing I think!

Very jealous plate. I seen to have regressed. I was starting to feel a bit more energetic (and by that I mean I wasn't dying if I couldn't squeeze in an afternoon nap or go to bed at 8).
But thus past week I've felt exhausted again. Surely it's too early for a growth spurt isn't it? I literall can't make it more than 6 hours awake before I start shaking/get headache and can't think straight unless I close my eyes.

I'm off into London tomorrow - followed by three days in France running workshops. I hope the tiredness lifts today - otherwise no idea how I an going to survive to next weekend!

Anyone still constantly raging? I get so easily frustrated! I'm usually fairly laid back - but the smallest things get me worked up! I'm think DH is looking forward to me travelling his week just to give him a break! Grin Hopefully he'll realise how low maintenance I am (when not pregnant)!Grin

talulahbelle · 02/02/2014 15:52

First bump toucher today Angry My aunt, who I don't get on with anyway, was visiting my parents. We popped over to say hi and have a cup of tea, and to borrow the parents dog to take on our walk - and my aunt just lunged and started patting my (still practically flat) belly! How on earth do you stop people doing that? I'm not a touchy feely person anyway, except with DH or when drunk!

ZingSweetApple · 02/02/2014 15:56

tallulah

go on Ebay and search for Hands off my bump!

you can buy a t-shirt or an iron on transfer.

ismarah · 02/02/2014 16:38

Re bump touchers: I've been surprised at myself as to not minding the two people who have touched me - one of which was a close friend and the other an acquaintance.

I am however planning to cultivate a reputation for pregnancy-induced violence and rage at any strangers - DH has been informed. T-shirts are not direct enough for my liking... #evilgrin

ellentullo · 02/02/2014 17:07

The nurses at work had a touch of my (non) bump on Friday. Minded less than I expected, but I like them as people. If any strangers do it, might punch them (softly) - technically I think it is about the same level of assault!

talulahbelle · 02/02/2014 19:23

I think if it was someone I liked I might have felt better about it. As it is we are have a major personality clash and I have very little time for her (although I'm always polite etc) so the bump touching just felt liked forced, and false, intimacy.

On a lighter note, via Facebook groups and freecycle, I have a pair of black maternity trousers, a maternity work dress, and 3 tops, one an isabella oliver wrap top. All for the total price of £19 and in excellent condition. Feeling quite happy - now I just need the perfect pair of maternity jeans.

MrsB2013 · 02/02/2014 19:28

jaykay I'm 5'4" and found my arms felt raised too much, the only way I can explain it is like a supermarket trolley, the big ones, the handles are higher where as the little ones seem lower

ZingSweetApple · 02/02/2014 19:29

if anyone uninvited touches your bump just say "Actually that was my boob"

then watch them squirm!Wink Grin Grin Grin

AuntieMaggie · 02/02/2014 19:42

Lol zing Grin

Next still have some skinny type jeans in some sizes in their clearance section - I'm living in mine at the mo!

Think I may have felt a couple of kicks during the lovely relaxation portion of my yoga class today. Or a weird muscle spasm! Can't remember from DD1 what the early movements felt like. I'm only 15w so a bit on the early side still but feasible with the second one.

SmallOlympianBear · 02/02/2014 22:29

Mrs A, your work situation sounds awful. I had a tricky situation at work recently and also found that documenting by email helped to clarify and resolve. Hope you find a way to make it work for you.

Zing, you're a spring chicken at 40, I'll be 42 by my due date. I turned 40 a month before my DD was born. I mentioned it and then instantly regretted it when I was suddenly under pressure to be induced at term. Curious about whether other 40+ folk had any conversations with health professionals about this?

Mrs B, I may have had your sleep! After months of insomnia and early starts with my DD, today I had a lie-in till 9. It has made such a HUGE difference. Now I know why I still feel generally pants am not remotely blooming this time around!

BlueC2 · 03/02/2014 04:14

Just giving all those other 'wide awake in the middle of the night-ers' a wave! DS kindly woke me at 2.50am, it's now 4am and I'm still awake!

Had a call from the homebirth team today (randomly on a Sunday?!) and one of them popping over on Friday to chat it through which is both scary and exciting! Suspect that might be partly why I'm still awake as brain playing through various birth scenarios in different parts of the house :)

jaykay987 · 03/02/2014 04:21

sorry you're awake Blue. Second consecutive 3am wake up for me Sad
