Pink - Many congratulations on little Caleb - lovely positive birth story too! Best wishes to you and your bigger family.

Pucca - re: the Maternity Allowance - it just seemed too easy when I filled in the form, kept thinking there must be a catch. I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm entitled to a Sure Start Maternity Grant now, as it seems to be available to people on a certain level of child tax credit.

Dreamy - just noticed your other comment - yes, I'm hoping to get the birth I want, but I might end up with another CS (urgent rather than em, though) if the scans on Wednesday don't look good, but I do think and feel everything is ok, so baby hopefully won't arrive this week, which is just as well as we're not ready. We're attempting to buy a pushchair and some kind of sleeping, er, thing tomorrow - moses bazket? crib? no idea what yet!

olivo · 29/07/2006 19:31

Pink - CONGRATULATIONS! and welcome to baby Caleb!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are having a good weekend. Have been getting a few cramps today but way too early for anything to be happening!

eeny - I thought yo could get measured from 36 weeks too - was planning to go next week at 37 to mothercare to get measured as i'll have to order mine online.will see what they say......

off to bed shortly, just cant seem to stay awake at the moment!

lunavix · 29/07/2006 20:23

pink - wow!!!! congrats!!!!! It was the cumin tea then????!!!!

melsy - do a search for msn messenger or yahoo messenger or trillian, they are all free downloads. I prefer trillian, but you do need to register a messenger account first, then you can just delete that program and set it up through trillian? It's tons easier, and checks my email for me

What's this breathing down thing? Is it something you posted about? I've been watching the birthing programs on living tv 2 and it looks so much more painful that it seemed with ds!

Oooh exciting news, ELC has a new catalogue out 3rd August.. with all new baby stuff (the range has gone pastel instead of bright.) Very exciting!

eeny - they were funny with me when I asked to get measured for ds too. However the ones they fitted me for after birth didn't fit properly and were very uncomfortable so this time I've just tried nearly every size on and bought the closest that seems oaky. Feeding bras are hugely uncomfortable cos of the stupid bit of elastic that goes under your boob...

pucca · 29/07/2006 20:23

Pink...Congrats, good weight too seeing as though he was early lovely name. xxx

Hoppy...I thought the same, infact really didn't expect it to be so simple > but it was, i have claimed from 28 weeks and has been going in bank every Friday lol.

lunavix · 29/07/2006 20:25

Oh and thanks to everyone re: MA advice. Won't be posting the form until after the birth as whether I need it basically depends on if I need a CS but it's rather interesting to know they don't care what you earn!

sarahlou1uk · 29/07/2006 20:37

Wow! Pink congratulations!

Well I've been feeling like sh*t all day. Got awful hip pains, back pains and my bump feels really really heavy. Tried to have a sleep this afternoon in bed but ds was being a little sod. He decided he didn't need an afternoon sleep and dh was supposed to be looking after him. Anyway, I probably got around 10 minutes kip and then ds came in and wanted to watch cbeebies with me on my bed. Ok I said but you have to stay still (hoping he would fall asleep). No such luck - bouncing on the bed, shouting at tweenies, etc. I decided to get up after 30 minutes of this.

Anyway, just come back from PIL house as it was both their birthdays this week and they had invited us and SIL up for some Chinese. Didn't eat much - chinese is too greasy these days for me. Feel really tired now so don't think I'll be on for long. How's everyone else been?

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:07

I think it was more yelloow that needed trillian rather than msn , had mine a looooooooong looooooong time and far too addicted. Have you posted your addy anywere Lunavix ??

The breathing down technique is somewere on here further down. Its quite a simple thing , practise whilst doing no2's youll be amazed !!!

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:13

lol at ds saralou , sounds just like my jumpin jackflash. I put meditation music when she lays in bed with me and that seems to calm her !! she even says in her deep voice this is for having in bath for relaxing !

lunavix · 29/07/2006 21:21

Argh

does everyone have a tens machine sorted out?

I was thinking of buying one but there's so many different makes...

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:25

yerr hired mine from boots this wk , did last time. Just phone and book a rough time with the person who looks after them, you need to fill out some forms. VERY useful little thing.I think theyre all much of a muchness in terms of models.

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:27

Meant to say , sorry you had a shit feeling day today Saralou. Sounds like you need some of my cd's to help. Can dh not give you some space and relax time in bed with no ds????

olivo · 29/07/2006 21:29

luna - i got my tens from blooming marvellous in the sale - it was 25 quid, around the same as hiring them, dont know if they are still in the sale. have a couple of friends due after me that I thought i could pass it on to. dont know much about models either - i guess mine is a basic one.

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:30

Thats good olivo , didnt even look there for my Tens.

olivo · 29/07/2006 21:38

melsy · 29/07/2006 21:39

lunavix · 29/07/2006 21:50

tens is £65 in blooming marvellous argh!

burstingbug · 29/07/2006 21:56

Wow congrats pink!
I've been away from my lap top all afternoon, ds was a major pain in the arse not wanting to eat or drink at lunch, spent over an hour crying and screaming at me, being really tired and grouchy. He eventually drank some milk. I've had my parents round all evening to help keep my sanity! My mum fed him and put him to bed for me which was good, I just had to bath the little sod.
Just catching up with the latest gossip.

melsy · 29/07/2006 22:06

gawd my dh is gonna be the death of me , Im sooooo frustrated this evening. I dont know what to do. Of course now Im feeling pain which Ive worked hard not to all day.

Micku5 · 29/07/2006 22:19

Hiya..... just a quick post before I go to bed. Had a quick scan of the messages to see who else has had their baby and to see who's close

Congratulations Arabica and Pink!!

Talia is coming home tomorrow so it's been a frantic few days trying to get things sorted out for her. She has a few appointments set up with various doctors and specialists so hopefully in 2/3 weeks time we will know more about her condition.

Good idea about the email addresses.. mine is my user name at hotmail.com. I will add the address listed to my MSN.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

melsy · 29/07/2006 22:22
