YellowFeathers · 05/08/2006 08:25

Glad to hear things are ok ish Eeny.
When I came off MSN last night I came on to MN for a while and noticed you had posted on another thread about 6pm ish so I calmed a bit then
Don't ever hesitate about calling the MW's if you feel you need someone. At the end of the day thats their job and the majority of it involves being in the community and seeing mums like you so don't worry! Its crap being sat there and just worrying especially when other halves are busy and your on your own, (well your never on your own anymore )

Had a nice night chatting with Melsy, Luna and dreamy. So thanks for that girls

Today I've got my Mnetter friend coming with her ds. Not sure what time but it'll be great for dd. Take some of the pressure off because all she'll want to do is play!
Just have to decide what to cook for tea tonight!

Whats everyone else doing today or are we all still moaping about wishing for these babies to get out!!!!
Had some niggles last night whilst chatting to the others, again nothing regular and then had some more in bed through the night. They are waking me up. Either that or they start when I wake. Not sure about that one!

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 09:13

Only got dd to entertain today my ex husband and father of eldest 4 kids has also taken my 8 year old son for the weekend bless him dp is clearing the garage out and Im clearing the toycupboard and my wardrobe today which is actually more like a dumping ground for all the towels and sheets too. Im hoping to be able to halve the ammount of toys in the toy cupboard now the boys are that bit older and store the towels and sheets there thus leaving me a whole wardrobe yippee for all those lovely winter clothes im intending getting after baby is here

YellowFeathers · 05/08/2006 10:16

Ahhhh Booby
Things will be ok in the end. It will be tough to start obviously but you have to remember that they both love you and thats what counts. If they are happier seperating then thats got to be better surely?

You know we're all here for you if need us.

olivo · 05/08/2006 10:45

booby - sorry to hear that about your mum and dad. remember we are all here if you need support.

i got a fisher price aquarium swing (lights, music and rcoking?) second hand for 10 quid - do you think its the sme one? am well chuffed if so, didnt know if i was wasting my money but if it works....

eeny - sorry you've had a fright, hope you are a bit better now.

YellowFeathers · 05/08/2006 10:54

I know I should clean up since friend is coming!
Just can't be ar!

sarahlou1uk · 05/08/2006 11:08

Morning everyone. Just got back from Meadowhall (shopping centre) where I had a lovely cooked breakfast. Didn't feel like walking around though, so came straight back home afterwards. Going to take ds to his nannan's in a bit as he wants to show her his new Thomas train set bits which I bought him yesterday. Had a few twinges yesterday but nothing major. Feeling very uncomfortable now (as I'm sure everyone else is!).

Eeny - sorry you had a fright. We are all here for you if you need to talk.

Booby - sorry about your parents. Again, as Yellow says, we are all here for you if you want to talk.

Sorry missed you all last night on msn. Was having a very rare slouch on the sofa whilst dh took care of ds (very rare!!)

Anyway, will be on mumsnet and msn later if anyone wants to talk.

YellowFeathers · 05/08/2006 11:37

Hiya Sarah!
Think you did the right thing coming out of M'hall! It'll be manic atm with the kids holidays!
I do love it there though.

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 12:13

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 14:59

Wonder how Pucca is getting on at the hospital? Been following her other thread.

trix1 · 05/08/2006 15:01

Me too bursting bug. I expect next time we hear from her she will be a mommy.

Im sitting here eating pineabpple slices but nothing happening.

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 15:07

I'm still not on the raspberry tea nor the cumin seeds. Think I'll just give them a miss now with only 5 days to go. Might try eating the pineapple and having a chilli and curry in the week - much to my dh's disgust, he hates them. He is on holiday and paternity leave for 4 weeks as of Monday so I maybe lucky in the bedroom to get things started

trix1 · 05/08/2006 15:14

I was wondering how long after sex labour could/might start.

freddysays · 05/08/2006 15:16

Hi all, now 3 days past my due date ARGHHHHHH and I am sooooooo down, really. THe last two days were not great but it was cool and I had energy, now i face the heatwave starting again, and I just cry.

I really felt positive last night felt ready had period dull aches but woke up this morning the same, heavy tired and hacked off. Now I am really upset by people calling and I just dont watn to speak to anyone. Really sorry for myself, i hope my mood improves it cant be helping the situation.

I know we are all feeling frustrated now and that it must be someitme soon as there will be intervention (induciton soon) i just feel so bad about it all.

Why wont he just come out now....

The only thing i havent tried is castor oil...anyone think its worth it or does it just give you the runs????

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 15:21

hi there I read that ingesting the prostoglandins from semen works better but if things are going to kick off it should be within 24 hours I also read you would need to eat 7 whole fresh pineapples for the enzyme to work clary sage and jasmin oils rubbed into your belly and nether regions are good too wasnt aware Pucca had another thread whereabout?

trix1 · 05/08/2006 15:22

Some people swear by the castor oil, including a midwife friend of mine. I saw on one of them american birth programmes in the week where a midwife told a pregnant women to go home and take the castor oil. The next scenw was the women arriving at hosp in labour.

I dont know if I am brave enough to take it, I would be too embarrassed to go in the chemist and ask for it.

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 15:23

Try jumping up and down or shaking the baby out

trix1 · 05/08/2006 15:23

Dreamy - Puccas other thread is in the childbirth section.

I could try running up and down the stairs.

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 15:24

I wouldnt have teaspoons of the stuff but someone suggested a few drops in orange juice apparently the cumin tea works in the same way

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 15:25

under- Childbirth : Really gross question

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 15:26

some people say holding a young baby can help. but i may be wrong

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 15:36

just read it how exciting hope she is ok I had the same with my last and when they swabbed me to see if they had gone found out I had group b strep I held my sisters 3 week old baby the other day and nothing but then I have got a tad longer than most of you.

trix1 · 05/08/2006 15:41

Just catching up on the posts below, what is vitamin K? when is it taken and why?

burstingbug · 05/08/2006 15:43

my ds had it injected straight after birth iirc, can't remember off the top of my head what its for i'll look in a mo after i've changed his bum
