dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 13:55

hi booby yes thanks it was lovely to get out and do nothing for the day I walked to the park this morning as they were having a fun day with pond dipping and parachute games etc but my pelvis is killing now am on my crutch this afternoon definitely overdone it . Eeny you have to get the stronger dose which you take once a day from the doc but just get your partner to ask for zantac at pharmacist

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 14:02

Hiya

am back now dh has buggered off to work.
It really does seem to be a pants day for everyone doesn't it?

I'm really cheesed off with dh's work. He specifically asked for his sleep over shifts to be covered just in case anything happened in the night (which it did with dd). His concern was that if I went in to labour and called him home, that he would have to wait till someone came in. He couldn't just up and leave as he works with disabled kids so there needs to be enough people there. Well suprise suprise, the person who has originally said she would cover dh's shift has rung in sick and the person on call is the person that lives the furthest away! Wouldn't you effin credit it! So if I do need dh, I'll be waiting at least 2 hours for him to come home when he works 5 mins away

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 14:03

BigHotMama · 04/08/2006 15:04

Hiya girls, hope your all ok and not getting too down about not popping out our lo's yet!

Well I've just been and had retail therapy to take mind off you know what and treated meself to a fab digital camera so can now take loads of shots of baba when he/she comes, 2 packs of raspberry leaf tea, thorntons choccies and some magazines. Not sure how I managed it though as felt like baba's head in my pants ha!

I've also put DH on a drinking ban as he likes to go out on Friday after work and normally comes back tipsy or clattered! Also drinks a few in the house over the weekend but cant be doing that when I'm almost due as I'd kill him if we had to get a taxi to hospital. We are going for what might be our last curry for a while as have heard your not allowed to eat them whilst bf'ing is this true?

Hope you all have a good weekend and try not to get too stressed girls, we will all have our babies and will be looking back on these threads laughing and probably missing our bumps.

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 15:08

Snap BHM!
We got our new camera last week
Its brilliant!

Not so sure on the curry and BF thing. I know its something to do with the taste coming through but how true it is I don't know.

BigHotMama · 04/08/2006 15:18

Yellow, the lady in the shop asked why I was buying such an expensive camera and if I'd bought it for a reason?? I just cant believe she didnt notice I was pregnant as my bump is humungous so I pointed to it and she said oh how lovely your having a baby! Haha I nearly wet myself!
Going to play with new toy now and am hoping next time I come on some more baba's will have made their entrance (inc mine!)

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 15:20

Just playing with mine atm and noticed dh has taken some sneaky pics of me yawning!

lunavix · 04/08/2006 17:07

eeny get some of that stuff from the doctor Sleep is so valuable to you now because you may not get a lot after the birth!

and booby sorry you're feeling so emotional hun I've been getting like that but dh is being a total twat again so I'm more angry than upset. This morning he got up and started going on about how I'd 'sat' on his trousers - he'd taken yesterdays work trousers off and put them on the computer chair, I'd sat on it for about 15 minutes, and he decided they must have fallen down and me sat on the trousers for 15 minutes. Anyways he was all grumpy about having to iron them again, and was telling me to look where I sat - to which I replied that a chair is a rather stupid bloody place to put trousers!

Anyways it ended up with him shouting as usual and to the best of my knowledge we still aren't talking (I forget usually) and he's going to be well miserable when he gets home! He'd ironed his clothes and packed it away so we had another argument this morning as I needed the iron to do my clothes (normally he'd ask) so when he left I washed up everything that was mine and the kids and nothing of his lol. I've bought ds some well cute things today too (cos I miss him!) and bought dh nothing.. he's like a kid it's bound to make him strop more.

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 17:19

aaawww luna I hope dh isnt getting you too down mine can be a right arse sometimes too as he likes a drink but been good and decorated mostly without moaning lately and making tea again tonight they are little children in mens bodies is what you have to remind yourself often and can feel very jealous too when new babies come along and threatened its hard to keep your patience believe me I know and weve had some right stinkers but Im sure things will be fine for you just try to ignore his sulks and strops like you would a child

lunavix · 04/08/2006 17:21

I do ignore him it makes him strop harder and louder

He's so good a lot of the times but the rest he's far worse behaved than my terrible-twos ds!

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 17:29

by the way bighotmamma it is true that eating very spicy foods can give baby upset tummy and colic as can acidic foods like tomatoes and oranges but only if taken to extremes you have to be careful of your alcohol consumption too I have breastfed all 6 of mine and have often wondered how cultures that normally eat spicy foods manage I personally just go for a milder version and if I want a night on the wine I express for that evening and for the next day in advance as remember it can take up to 24 hours to get put of your system

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 17:33

mine too lunar he can be a wonderful partner and dad 90% of the time but a selfish nasty pig who really upsets me the other 10% so know where you are coming from

sarahlou1uk · 04/08/2006 18:01

Hi everyone. Well I'm now 38+2 and getting desperate! I have tried my raspberry leaf tea and it's having no effect! Who was talking about reflexology starting labour? Can you give me a hint about where to press and I'll get dh to give me a foot massage tonight.

trix1 · 04/08/2006 19:02

Ive had reflexology twice this week and nothing (yet). Im taking the raspberry leaf herbal tablets too and still nothing.

I wish i was brave enough to try the castor oil

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 19:22

never mind girls its not much longer now Im actually hoping Ill hold on until im 39 weeks as really busy before then

lunavix · 04/08/2006 21:45

Hi everyone!

I've bought raspberry leaf tea - around £2 for a biggish bag from whittards, bargain.

How much should I use? Bought a sieve thing too, want to make a litre jug as the person in the shop said not to drink it warm. So how many spoons shall I infuse for a litre?

I'm getting desperate too. Today is the day I'm happy to give birth from, so have been out for a curry, got the tea, and thinking about letting dh have 'the sex'

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 22:38

Eeny, theres a few of us on MSN atm and we're all worried about you.
I'm going to email you and Dreamy said she will check in the night.
Hope your ok sweetie.

xxx

bumble10 · 04/08/2006 23:25

Hi everyone, thanks all for the lovely words and really glad Dixie's name has gone down well with all you women of good taste, i reckon you love it or hate it.....anyway i was just clocking i to see if there were anymore arrivals and to see how the bumps are fairing...re raspberry tea i drank loads of it after being booked in for induction and took with me a punnet of raspberries and loads of pineapple to nibble on. HOWEVER i became crippled with wind...honest, i thought it was contractions, and was so bad that i was crying and had to beg for painkillers and peppermint.Ended up feeling abit silly really and could not even find solace on the birthing ball. So if you are inclined to windiness I'd stick to some good quality sex to bring on the bambino. with emphasis on the quality, it may be some time before we have it again.

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 23:37

lol bumble

Had some of the norty stuff last night but it has done naff all cos I'm still here, lol.
Have given up on the raspberry tea and can't be bothered with anything else, although will try the tweaking

How is Dixie doing?

eenywifemum · 05/08/2006 01:12

hi everyone!

sorry to make you worry. After I got off msn from talking to you before I went to bed and slept for a while. The shakiness stopped when I woke up although I feel generally quite low and weak I think I am ok. If the same happens tomorrow I am going in to be checked over as I was really scared today. Hope you are all well I havent read all the posts I wanted to say first off that I am alright. You are all lovely!

dreamydowler · 05/08/2006 04:37

hi eeny so glad you are feeling a bit better and managing to get some sleep. I really think you need to be checked over as the weakness could be a range of things perhaps you are anaemic. Anyway dd seems to be having same problem as me sleeping and is as we speak in with dp in our bed I dont mind at moment as Im not that tired but someone is going to have to move when I am lol
