Yes poor you Lunavix, you are having a h*ll of a day it seems

lunavix · 03/08/2006 21:11

Well the manufacturers have basically let me know. It's in limbo now as the police are investigating, I've contacted them and apparently royal mail have too, but I have no idea who the rightful owner of the item is - so nowhere to return it to. Plus I don't know whether just to buy another to replace it as I don't know how it will be sorted out. Argh.

I buy so much off ebay too - have a baby gym coming hopefully tomorrow so am starting to panic slightly.

olivo · 03/08/2006 21:28

noodle- re the vitamin k - i was told that if you are veggie/vegan, you can ask for a non animal product- thats what I'm hoping to do.

luna - sorry to hear about the ebay stuff, thats crap

good luck 2labs!

dressedupnowheretogo · 03/08/2006 21:47

eenywifemum · 04/08/2006 02:43

Well dreamy I am one not sleeping well as its 2:40am and here I am!

Me and Sal are vegetarian - didnt know vit K was made of animal products?? Weird.

Luna dont worry about the other things you have bought off ebay - I doubt lightning will strike twice! I really feel sorry for you though what bad luck! And you sound just like me with the migraines/swelling/BP thing - I have been through the same thing!

Pink its lovely to hear from you!! I bet you were happy Caleb slept so well and its great DD is being such a doll! You have converted me to cumin tea I will be trying it a week from today!

2labs - if you've had a show you must be so excited!! I'd love to have one

Calmriver - thanks for the good luck

good morning all. Oh poor eeny you really are not sleeping well at all at night I hope this doesnt drag on for you or is an indicator of things to come. Whats everyone up to today? DP still decorating hall and Im going to attempt to tidy dd bedroom to make room for new babys things Im a food technology teacher when Im not having babies and know that there is a difference between vitamin k found naturally and that which is synthetic Im sure if you ask for vitamin K from plant and vegetable origin they wil be able to accomodate eeny often these synthetic versions especially tablets contain gelatin or other such products as binding ingredients or preservatives

burstingbug · 04/08/2006 08:38

Morning off to the midwife this morning for my 39wk check. Hope she's going to be happy this time with the fundal measurements! I don't think baby can get much lower down, the bump has almost fallen to my knees - at least in mine and dh's opinion.
This raspberry tea thing, it it just a raspberry flavoured tea bag or will it actually say raspberry leaf tea? I'm going to see if I can get some day and maybe some cumin seeds

trix1 · 04/08/2006 09:19

Good luck Bursting bug at the m/w. Dreamy it must be great though to have dh getting all the decorating done, he sounds really handy.

Eeny, what i do when i cant sleep at night and then find myself sleepin all day is get up really early even though ive been awake in the night and by the followoing evening you will sleep when you go to bed. You need to try and break the routine.

freddysays · 04/08/2006 09:19

Hi all,
bursting bug, it needs to be raspberry leaf tea. I personally dont like it and only had a few cups last time round, this time I am using raspberry leaf capsules heard they are as good if not better. Not sure if either work but I am trying everything now. THe theory is that once contractions do start (pls god) they will be good and strong and effectual!!!

I am now officially 2 days overdue ARGHHHHHHHH

I cant believe it, it seems so unfair, had not bargained on this at all. I actually thought my dates were wrong and I was going to go on the 27/7

So getting very depressed as you can imagine, not even a twinge last night and i am trying it all believe me.

Off to mw today to moan at her not that its her fault but she may give me some wisdom. Baby is getting even bigger if you can belive that I am gonna topple over....

Good luck to you all and wish me some back I want him to come out now and cant bear going into next week preggers x x x

trix1 · 04/08/2006 09:26

Good morning Freddie, did you try the clary sage? i was tempted to buy it yesterday, I seen it in the health shop, was it you that said it is supposed to really work? I thought I would wait until at least next week when I am 39 weeks.

Good luck at the midwife today.

eenywifemum · 04/08/2006 10:10

morning everyone!

freddy I am sorry you poor thing!! It will happen SOON! It cant be that much longer!! I dont blame you for being frustrated!

thanks everyone for your condolances over my not sleeping The problem is that as soon as I lay down it feels like there is acid being poured down my chest from heartburn. Then I throw up. Which I am still doing every day. Its awful. I am going to try to get into see my Dr next week to ask for the prescription for the heartburn stuff Melsy uses. I am so miserable, sleeping just a couple of hours a night all broken up, throwing up, heartburn etc etc I want this baby out. Was even thinking of begging the MW to induce me at 38 weeks if I havent gone into labour yet but I feel like I've gone so far in such a hard pregnancy and to give up at the last minute and have to change where and how I give birth... I dont know. I would probably regret it later. I dont know.

Hope everyone is doing well!

freddysays · 04/08/2006 10:18

trix1 i tried the clary sage had a both yesterday and just now with it in...so far no good..the moral is he will coem when he is good and ready i expect.

At least i am not suffering like eeny..that sounds so rough. You poor devil. You know it might be relived as the baby drops down in the last few weeks so an early induction might be avoided!!heres hoping.

Im gonna go out now to mw, then meet up with my mate she has a boy same age as my ds1, i shall have a nice cup of tea and a snack try and forget it all.At least this mate wont be banging on about my size or whens it due, she was 2weeks overdue with her boy so shes very empathetic, just what is needed.

freddysays · 04/08/2006 10:19

trix 1 i meant bath not both?!?!?

melsy · 04/08/2006 10:37

Morning all

Feeling a little less deflated today , but suffice to say not much going on , only a little twinge and surge here and there. May be a sign of things to come next week. I was planning on this baby being 8/8/06 as Im into numbers , yerr I know Im a bit odd !!

Lunavix that sucks about ebay , whats their insurance , if they have anything ??? Im ignorant to Ebay trading really.

Eeeeny , horrid not to sleep , I was up at 3:30 for quite a while , was tempted to come online , but I cant face the trek down 2 flights !!

Trix & freddy says yuor gonna have a cocktail of clary sage , cumin and caster oil !!!Im chicken , just worried it could go full throttle & I like pacing myself. My sis did the castor oil and bam next day her lo came.

Good luck with all midwife appts today.

Im braving going to a family friends today after lunch with my sister , theyll be 5 KIDS there (inc mine) eeeek. Im gona hide in the lounge with ear plugs !! Ive warned my sis to be on red alert & all my bags are going with me. I just have to have to get out, as I didnt last night.

YellowFeathers · 04/08/2006 11:03

Hi all!

Just a quickie for now but will be back later.
Just want to know if any of you will e about tonight?

Dh has had to swap his shift so he'll be gone for a full day as of 2 this afternoon. Not happy about it to say the least but theres nothing I can do about it. Would appreciate your company

Also a bit fed up as I'm not having any niggles or twinges and I really thought I would have by now.
Dh's collegue who was pg (I mentioned I saw her a few times in the last few weeks) well she had her baby on Tuesday, a week late. 8lb 6oz. There both still in hospital but I think everything is ok.
Am just very

olivo · 04/08/2006 11:08

hello! had a little chuckle at how frustrated we all are - inlcuding me - only 6 days to go till 38 weeks then i can start trying all these 'get it going' things too!

eeny - i thought of you last night when i was up with heartburn so bad i didnt know whether to make myself sick or not. nice. then the flippin bump started itching again...grrrrrrr!

going out for luch today , might be the last one, I just cant sit comfortably except on my ball, its dropped so low.

hope everyone else is ok today.

dressedupnowheretogo · 04/08/2006 13:09

hi just woke up again i woke up at seven felt fine had my brekkie made my dh some brekkie [he was starting late ] which was nice the went to the loo and bam baby moved into dead weird postion and literrally my energy just hit the the floor i went all weak and shaky and cold and tired and ive slept from nine til now

my bump is still solid and i feel nery weary and tearful

im pissed off coz i suppossed to see my friend today who had the baby and do my mums and bros hair to maike some money but i dont thinki mgonna make either

i could cry ireally could

burstingbug · 04/08/2006 13:21

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling like poo!
Think I'm going to have a lie down as I'm so so tired and ds is at nursery today so I don't have to look after him, the house work can wait!
Midwife made my fundal height 37 and said she was being generous! She thinks that baby has got too comfy and is back to back so I have to stop slouching and start leaning forward to get the little bugger to move! Have to go next week when I'll be 40+1 to see how things are, if I'm really lucky they'll sweep me there and then, if not then I expect I'll have to go back at the begining of the following week for one, when I guess they'll also make a date for induction if nothing happens.

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 13:27

oh dear everyone seems to be a bit down today and we all have a long month ahead of us wish we could all meet up for a non alcoholic drink a meal and a few silly games lighten everyones spirits and hopefuly start some contractions off. I will be around all afternoon and evening yellow if you want we could have chocs and icecream evening. Eeny I knoe how hard the heartburn is and I really need to go back to the doctor too but at the moment this is whats getting me through zantac tablets which are ranitidine 75mg same as what melsy takes but hers are 150mg you can buy them over the counter and you take one in the morning and one at night before bed. I have gaviscon advance at luch and tea time and chew gum all day long if I can it really does help makes you burp a lot but I think thats the trick like a baby with trapped wind. you should always sleep with your head higher than your body try raising yours by putting pillows under the sheets too or the seat from sofa if they are removable then your pillows on top

burstingbug · 04/08/2006 13:30

Oooh almost forgot, Calamine lotion for the itching belly. Midwife said it was fine to use, if it gets any worse then the dr can pescribe piriton. Both fine to use in pregnancy so she says.

dreamydowler · 04/08/2006 13:30

sorry your midwife appointment didnt go better bursting you will have to try washing kitchen floor on all fours and pelvic rocking

dressedupnowheretogo · 04/08/2006 13:33

did you have a nice yime ye4sterday dreamy ?

bursting i was gonna suggest the all fours thing too i hope it works must be very fustrating

eenywifemum · 04/08/2006 13:45

booby I'm sorry you are feeling emotional. I was this morning too I cried before Sal left for work I didnt want him to go. Really I was feeling sorry for myself over the sleep thing.

bursting sorry about your appointment! Alex was back to back - dont know how is lying at the moment. Our MW told us that basically when you lie back you form a hammock that the baby rests in, so you need to lean forward to make the hammock go the other direction.

I thought you had to get ranitidine on prescription?

I'm not feeling well (sorry I know, no surprise there) I have been leaking a little - called a MW who said to put a pad on and see if it got really wet. Its not its more damp. But now I feel all hot and shaky.
