"Get lots of nice walks with the pushchair in before winter!"

Yes, that would be great. Sunny, warm with gentle tropical breeze.

And also what about using summer baby clothes? I don't have any snowsuits yet!

And what about all those summer cocktails I have missed out on...

olivo · 03/08/2006 17:10

I feel soooooo bad about the chunky kit kats - am going to have to go cold turkey on them! I am actually pretty worried now about how big it is going to be - i'm only 5 ft 2 and quite petite (ok, I was pre- kit kats!)

booby - I'm measuring a not very impressive 38B - was 34 A before I was pg.

BHM - mine gets hiccups at least a couple of times a day too, mostly in the evening.

eeny - have you tried some lavender oil in the bath at night? might work.

interested to read all the talk on Vit K - I've decided to go for the injection in case it doesnt 'swallow' as much of the oral one as it should.

am mentally logging all these ways of getting labour started - roll on 38 weeks so i can start!!

olivo · 03/08/2006 17:13

Eeny - not sure what the problem is with your shoulder and cant find it on the thread but if it is sore/stiff, try a hot water bottle or ice followed by a really gentle massage. mine has been a pain cos of always sleeping on it but htis has worked for me. also, using a v pillow on top of a normal pillow and having my shoulder right in the v if you see what i mean!

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 17:21

Olivo: I am two days behind you 26/8 (and having a boy according to the chart - well that's news to me!)

Eeny: you may beat us if you are early though. Has anyone been a week early yet?

eenywifemum · 03/08/2006 17:39

the list you mentioned silly Sal about all of our stats!

Every baby in my family has been early by at least 2 weeks, I was 6 weeks. And one suggested date I had was 15 Aug so I will be thrilled if I go before the official date of 1 Sept!

Olivo thanks for the advice about the shoulder. I keep meaning to buy a V pillow and forgetting! I think its mainly the knitting but also like you said I have to keep sleeping in the same position. Basically around 2 am night before last I was in agony and it just would not get better. It was the sort of pain that stopped me being able to focus on anything else, YKWIM? It is better today but I am going to keep pampering it so it doesnt happen again.

noodle - did you not tell us you were having a boy? do you not know what you are having???

OP posts:
noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 17:51

No I don't know what the baby is. Maybe this is a sign?

I was apparently a week early so I am hoping to be early too.

Have just noticed some vitamin k discussions on the board elsewhere. Lots of different opinions on this.

olivo · 03/08/2006 18:11

noodle - i was 5 days late so it doesnt bode well (then again, i was only 6lb 12 which this one isnt going to be!!) - you'll probably beat me to it!

lol at it being put as a boy on here! is it fate?

2labs · 03/08/2006 18:13

Er, just a casual question... does a show have to have blood in it or might it be completely clear?

Sorry if TMI at dinnertime...

PinkTulips · 03/08/2006 18:24

aaarrggghhh! just took me half an hour to read what your all up to.

congrats bumble

not sure if i should still be posting here as i'm not preg anymore but just wanted to add about the vitK, neither of mine had it... with dd they asked and i said no and there was no problem, this time had it in my birth plan and it caused uproar had to sign forms saying i understood the risks and all that. paed was lecturing me and the mw almost came to blows with her as shwe couldn't understand either why i was being hassled! v. wierd.

right, no time to sort out msn now as caleb's awake again.. will get to it soon i promise!

ps... cumin tea works wonders girls, and melsy, i found sittin back on the couch and rolling nipples between my fingers for ages brought the contactions on thick and fast, give it a try

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 18:32

Congrats PinkTulips!! How are you feeling???

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 18:35

2labs: just searched the interweb where people say no and things like:

"Not always it could be clear with a slight tint to it but it's not like regular discharge it's more of a gelatin texture."

PinkTulips · 03/08/2006 18:36

really good, he slept through the night last night 1am to 7am.... completely differant baby to dd

that reminds me... those of you with toddlers acting up, dd was a nightmare til the day caleb was born... tantrums, clingyness, the works. shes been absolutely fantastic since he was born..... better behaved than she has been in months, no tantrums, nothing. was really expecting her to be a nightmare but shes been fine so therees hope for you all!

Calmriver · 03/08/2006 18:37

Hi All, just saying good luck, I was due on the August 2004 thread, and now I am due on the late Nov/Early Dec thread!

I remember haveing my summer baby girl, was pretty hot then too!

I now have to plan DD's 2nd Noddy Birthday Party!

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 18:39

PinkTulips: What did you base your Vitamin K decision on in the end?

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 18:41

Calmriver: wow that is a thought we will be having baby birthday parties this time next year!

Good luck with your new winter babe! Your preg. heating will be coming in handy then!

2labs · 03/08/2006 18:42

Thanks noodle! Might be then... I'll have to wait and see.

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 18:47

2labs: Good luck, I guess that means you should be delivering within the next week or so?

This was the site I looked at FYI
plug discussion from site with ugly design

lunavix · 03/08/2006 18:51

I am SO annoyed.

I'm having a right crappy day.

Didn't sleep last night (would have come on last night eeny and kept you company but pc is in bedroom and would have woken dh plus didn't think anyone was on!) as I had a migraine at 9.30pm which lasted until past 5am. I took nurofen which promptly caused me to panic until the doctor told me not to worry. Thanks olivo for reasurrance.

Then I received my lovely ebay goods- which have turned out to be stolen. Plus I NEED them. Thank you Sal/Eeny for advice on that thread, btw.

Now I phoned the doctor for a codeine prescription only for him to panic about my sudden swollen feet/migraine combination, so the midwife has just come out, but alls well. BP is definaetly up, but still low at 120/70

lunavix · 03/08/2006 18:52

PT - how do you make cumin tea?

PinkTulips · 03/08/2006 18:53

noodle, simply the fact that i firmly believe if nature had intended for babies to have it in their systems it would be there, there must be a reason it isn't. that and the fact that i don't really feel the leukemia link has been researched well enough

PinkTulips · 03/08/2006 18:54

spoonful of cumin seeds in hot water and a spoon of honey... it works!

lunavix · 03/08/2006 18:54

Do you strain the seeds before drinking?

noodlekitkat · 03/08/2006 19:06

PinkT: Part of me is thinking this way if i have a straightforward delivery. I have also just read that some of the K products are made from cow offal which makes me think CJD also. Not sure if these are just the oral products or both the oral and jab.

dreamydowler · 03/08/2006 19:11

hi ladies been at my sisters today while dp started decorating the hall. It was nice to get out and have a break from cleaning and to see my 3 week old nephew again he is soo sweet. Its been really busy on here today and I definitely wont be abandoning the thread eeny made some really good friends here and cant wait to meet you all with our babies and have august birthday parties each year and mums xmas shopping weekends. Sounds to me like some of you are very close now to delivering and cant wait to hear about the next baby born. calm river how nice of you to wish us all luck I hope you have a good pregnancy too and the heat hasnt been too bad for you. Its lovely to hear from you again Pink and dont you dare abandon us lol 2labs definitely sounds like a show to me you will probably have some more come away and notice slight streaks of blood in it keep us informed Im only 5 3 and last baby was 9lb 1oz I think if our bodies are meant to have a big baby they will but be careful with your sugar intake as it can lead to big babies. On the whole I have been early with my babies 1 day with 1st 6 days with 2nd 10 days with 3rd 2 weeks with 4th 2 days late with 5th and 2 days early with 6th so definitely hoping to be early rather than late with this one. I wasnt aware of the contraversy surrounding the vitamin k injection Im going to have to read up on that one By the way for your list sal Im from Cheshire and have daughter age 18 in a few days daughter age 16 daughter age 15 son age 14 next month son age 8 daughter age 3 and daughter sophie jane due on 30th august although hospital said 31st any time after the 24th will suit me though lol Sarahlou you sound as bad as me Ive definitely got the cleaning bug yellow tell me about the reflexology techniques too please sounds very interesting and not sure I could face cumin tea ugh! Melsy hope things are going well for you How have you been booby? and hello to anyone else Ive missed off the list

dreamydowler · 03/08/2006 19:16
