Just a quick update

I spoke to MW again yesterday and ended up being checked, i wasn't dilated so panic over thank god! Would have been a nightmare at mo as i still haven't sorted all my baby gear out, and the biggest prob was my mum is away at mo and she is having my dd when i go in, so big sigh of relief here lol, things could still happen before though because of having the show but not imminent...when the MW did the internal she was pushing the head and making it bounce lol so his head is well and truly low!

Not disappointed as its only 9 days till my section anyway just gives me the time i need to get things sorted.

dressedupnowheretogo · 02/08/2006 10:01

well i stayed up to give my dh some quality sleep and some bed and bless him just spoke to him and he reckons has had no sleep so so much for that idea

im cleaning too but not in a frenzied way dh has decided to paint kitchen this weekend [mental emoticons] so will clean that next week but i must tackle the linen basket today and hoover and mop bathroom and try a give the shower a good scrub if i can get in

pucca glad ur not panicing and olivio you sound quite organised now

im feeling very calm but tired and baby is very active today

trix1 · 02/08/2006 11:52

Good Morning ladies,

when oh when is my baby going to come? I know I should be enjoying these last few quiet days/nights lie in etc before baby arrives but I want him / her come now.

38 weeks - could I have 4 weeks to go?

is anyone considering the castor oil??

Salamander · 02/08/2006 11:53

4 weeks sounds like an eternity I bet

freddysays · 02/08/2006 12:35

Tell me about it...when is this baby coming...I am due today and no real sign. the odd twinge but no real sense that its gonna happen. I have an appt now for 41 wks at hosp so that depressed me, could it be 42 weeks before I see this little monkey?

Anyway, I am going ahead with my plans. My mum is goign to have my ds1 tonight, I am gonna have a walk, a curry a shag, pop some homeopathic remedies have a clary sage bath then go to bed and hope to god he comes in the night, it woudl be perfect as my son is in nursery for a full day tomorrow and then my mum has friday off so I can be sure he wont be too badly affected.....

PLease please let this all work as I am so uncomfortable now and if it doesnt come out today I will start to belive it never will

So much for letting things be and jsut relaxing about it all here comes more neurosis!!!!

trix1 · 02/08/2006 12:43

Hi Freddie, well fingers crossed for you. whats the sage bath, ive not heard of that one. Will try anything now. I have not even had a twinge today!

freddysays · 02/08/2006 13:10

Its an aromatherapy oil, not to be used before due date so sounds really promising.

I am gonna put a few drops in the bath tonight...i will try it all today so let you knwo if the onslaguht of old wives tales and alterntive therapies works out...good luck to you.

Are you just getting so sick of people calling you and leaving messages like "any movement yet"

I know its well meant but I am a grumpy old cow today, thing is you cant not phone people back because if you dont they all get in a frenzy ringing each other paniking about your labour THAT HASNT EVEN STARTED>>>>>

I think i better go and make myself a cup of calming tea, or maybe a very big pot

2labs · 02/08/2006 13:10

Trix1 I see you are due the same day as me . If it makes you feel any better I haven't had any twinges, no BH, baby not engaged etc... Saw midwife yesterday and I said does all this mean I'm going overdue, and she said 'Not at all. Doesn't mean anything!' My sister was the same - no signs whatsoever until it all kicked off (2 days after due date). My plan is just to relax - what will be will be! Then again I think I am less uncomfortable at the moment than a lot of you sound. If the baby's head engages and walking the dogs gets uncomfortable no doubt I'll be more impatient...

trix1 · 02/08/2006 13:12

I know what you mean, ive not reached my due date and im getting calls too.

What do I ask for Clary Sage? and where do it get it? any health shop?

trix1 · 02/08/2006 13:14

2Labs I sound so impatient dont I its just that my ds was born at 37 weeks. I know that as soon as the baby arrives and I am up all night and have sleep deprivation I will wish I had been more patient and appreciated the time before the arrival of little one.

freddysays · 02/08/2006 13:19

Yeah its clary sage, it will be with the other oils in your local health food shop maybe even some chemists stock oils too.

Try and put it out of your head though for now as 4 weeks does sound like a long time. Get yourself to 40 weeks then start to foucs on gettign yourself thru the last 2wks. You know what it prob wont amount to that.

I am only 40weeks today, my dates were not precise so I have to allow a margin of error I am planning to allow my nrevous breakdown to begin when I am 3 days overdue....HAHA HAHA

eenywifemum · 02/08/2006 13:26

I do feel for all you girls who are at your DDs! I know how impatient I am now so I can imagine how you must be feeling!

Melsy I am sorry your surges have stopped!! The burst of energy is a good sign though! I dont think you have too much longer! Gut feeling.

Olivo I found a Mothercare leaflet on how to measure yourself for a maternity bra - I guess its the same for a nursing bra?? If you want the details I can post them on here - it also said they were on the mothercare website.

Booby i'm sorry your DH didnt feel like he slept!! I know you were trying hard to give him a good nights sleep.

I feel pretty awful. I didnt sleep last night and I have this really horrendous pain in my left shoulder/neck. I've taken 2 paracetomal for it but so far it isnt helping I really cant focus on anything else. Oh well! Will try to learn to purl today so hopefully that will take my mind off it.

Hope everybody is doing well!

BigHotMama · 02/08/2006 14:35

Afternoon ladeez, hope your all well!

For those of you who want to measure your bra size I'm sure it tells you how to do it in the front few pages of the Mothercare brochure? I'm sure they go up a cup size to accomadate milking udders and down a size on the width of your back due to fact your bump will have gone down by time of feeding? or something like that?

Well have been doing lots of housework again and making myself sweat and get breathless - keep on thinking I'll have so many visitors when baba arrives that I dont want to be worrying about how clean everywhere is so am aiming to do a bit everyday.

I'm still not having any major twinges although feels like bab's head is in my pants and pressing real hard, also getting plenty of movement and feels bit painful due to baba not having much room in there.

Went for a swim and just treated meself to a mini fish n chips with curry sauce - yum yum! Heaven!

Does anybody know if asda or boots sell raspberry leaf tea bags? I've just run out and I'm really enjoying them - dont want to have to go into town just for a box.

Trix, good luck to ya with castor oil if you go ahead with it!

Anybody else getting tender nipples?

Sending lots of labour vibes to everyone (inc me) - lets get some more baba's out ha!

pucca · 02/08/2006 15:33

All those getting fed up or on due date...get walking! lol I swear that is what started me off with my dd, went on a mad shopping spree and walked LOADS and waters popped that night.

I do have sympathy though it is awful when waiting for something to happen, i was 6 days over with my dd and every day over felt like a eternity.

I am really lucky ( the only benefit) as my section booked for next Friday, but know how you are feeling.

BigHotMama · 02/08/2006 16:07

Pucca, does waddling really slowly count too? Cant walk properly and hurts me to walk at normal pace, am like a waddling snail at the moment.

I wished somebody could just tell me what day its going to happen, I know sounds daft but feel like its never going to come out, can babies get too attached lol? Oh god just listen to me ranting on, its not even overdue yet! Pls feel free to ignore me as I'm talking complete shite today!

freddysays · 02/08/2006 16:15

im not sure if waddling wokrs, just tried it but like you its really hard going, i dont thinks he is engaged but he is getting there so it mighty uncomfortable cant go fast, i also have spd (bascially very sore blower back) for my sins.

THe weight is hard goign too, estmiated to be 9lb+ st EDD so beyond today i dont know if he will coem out taling and walking!!!

Anyway, will try another walk later and all other methods of natural indcution,...i hope it works as i have this horrid tearign sensation now on my left side above my belly button. Hope he hasnt gone breech again....

And yes i have tender nipples, gave them a little exploratory squeeze the other day and some colustrum came out, maybe thats a good sign!!!

Cross everythign for me and my sanity x x

freddysays · 02/08/2006 16:16

pls ignore all typos, forgive me I am beyond help now x x x x

dreamydowler · 02/08/2006 16:18

Hi everyone. My hospital appointment went really well today. Got to see baby on scan and my has she grown. If she were born today apparently she would weigh about 61/2 pounds so she is going to be at least 81/2 pounds by my due date. She was plotted on the 80th centile line on the growth chart and is tall but as I have given birth to a 9lb baby before they are not overly concerned and dont want to see me again until i am 40 weeks. I didnt even have sugar in my urine today which is a first for a while. There was a slight trace of protein but they didnt seem concerned. I even went shopping for some things afterwards. I managed to get some feeding bras from mothercare in the sale box I didnt bother getting measured as I was measured just a few weeks ago for support bras I got some maternity pads they were three packs for the price of two and some breast pads so all in all a good day. Its nice to hear from some of the ladies that havent been online for a while Its all getting very exciting now.

BigHotMama · 02/08/2006 16:34

Good news about your appointment Dreamy and the fact they dont need to see till 40 weeks - bonus!
I've got my next appointment at 40 weeks then if not had baba by 41 weeks they will do me a sweep and then if go 10 days over got to be induced at hospital eeeek!

LMAO at your comment Freddy, squeezing your nips, I'm too scared to do mine

dreamydowler · 02/08/2006 17:11

lol squeeze them nips girlies

burstingbug · 02/08/2006 17:16

Dreading my due date next week, finding it really hard coping with just my 17mth ds, let alone another baby. I've got a really short temper at the moment and I find myself flying off the handle at the smallest thing he does wrong. poor ds, I could really kill him sometimes. Just hope I become the calmer person I once was after the baby is born.
On a different note, anyone have a really really itchy belly that the just have to scratch untill you break the skin? Or is it just me in my madness?

dreamydowler · 02/08/2006 17:45

Im sure its just your hormones and you will be fine once you get into a routine ds is probably picking up on the imminent birth too a bit of insecurity and jealousy might be creeping in besides which the terrible twos doesnt just mean 2 year olds mine often hit the stubborn stage earlier

burstingbug · 02/08/2006 17:57

Thanks dreamy, hoping it is just hormones. Ds does seem to be hitting the 2's early - like 15 mths! Do you really think he know's that there is going to be a little brother to keep him company? We do say to him we're having a baby and that there is a baby in mummys tummy. I hope he doesn't get too jelous as he's already quite clingy again

olivo · 02/08/2006 18:23

bursting bug - i've posted a couple of times on the preg threads - my itchiness is driving me insane, I'm going to ask if there is anything the gp can give me tomorrow.at the moment, i'm using aloe vera gel. have been using oil since 16 weeks but stretch marks appeared in the last week and i think that is what is itching. grrrrr.....
eeny - will take a look at the mothercare website -thanks! bought a tape measure today

bumble10 · 02/08/2006 18:35

just a quickie, you know how it is trying to type whilst nestling the most divine creature in the crook of my arm yes my dears DIXIE FLORENCE was born on sat 29th july by emergency section, i had a pretty awful time being induced and then my bp went right down so i was under the knife before you know whats what.....i'll put more details on soon but good luck to all....to say that we are thrilled with our peachy darling is the understatement of the year.....would someone mind adding her name to the new additions list, not got my brain trained up yet
