I met dh when I was 18 and knew he was 'the one' CORNY so I suppose we had been together 4 years before we had dd and we then got married last year after her. Smile

Secretlypregnant · 16/01/2014 18:56

Happy birthday for tomorrow, shaksuka! How exciting about the surprise!

PinaColadas · 16/01/2014 18:56

Happy birthday for tomorrow Shak ooooh very intriguing! Can't wait to hear what you do, have fun!

mssleepyhead · 16/01/2014 18:57

Ps. Jess - I did the same thing! Brought an Internet cheaply down to dinner and asked if he could see anything. Knowing nothing about these things he said he could see a pink line, but wouldn't believe it till we got a digi : )

Feelingfatty · 16/01/2014 18:57

Oh shak how exciting Smile

Shakshuka · 16/01/2014 19:02

I hope he hasn't built up expectations Grin

He can be quite good though. When he proposed to me, he arranged a week in Prague and never told me. He said we were going to go away for the weekend with friends. Him and his friend came to pick me up in their car and we were going to go via the airport which is where his friend's wife worked (which was true so fitted the story perfectly!). We even had our dog in the car as he'd arranged for this friend to look after the dog. And we got to the airport with me not suspecting a thing, he said let's go into the terminal to look for friend's wife and when we went in, he told me that actually we were flying to Prague for the week! He'd even emailed my boss to arrange for me to have the time off!!

I have a feeling it won't be quite as exciting this time.

hungry
I've been referred to as a lady of 'advanced maternal age' :)

Secretlypregnant · 16/01/2014 19:09

Laughing at 'advanced maternal age'. I'm sure I heard that too last time round.

It'd help if I felt able to get out the hair dye. I am as grey as a badger at the moment! I'm so hoping that some sort of second trimester glow sets in in a few weeks. I look as sick as I feel. Thankfully I haven't seen anyone from the outside world for weeks.

babyspice2501 · 16/01/2014 19:12

Just quickly flymo what about dairylea dunker things? They really help me with sickness when I get hungry? But im not sure if its enough to fill up though but worth a try. Its got to be heavier than salad.

ScienceGeekGirl · 16/01/2014 19:17

Just tried 4head for my horrible headache and now in loads more pain and have a angry red forehead even tho washed it off almost immediately. That stuff is horrible, just wanted to warn anyone thinking of using it if you have sensitive skin like me.

As for age I'd set myself a deadline to have a baby before I turned 30. Stupid as it just piled loads of pressure on myself especially as getting pregnant turned out to be very difficult. However have made my deadline by about a month. Just in time.

lucyfluff · 16/01/2014 19:18

Awww happy birthday for tmrw shak Smile let us know where your suprise is!!!

I was young having my two older sons (previous relationship not married!!!) at 19/22. After that split I met DH at 29 and fell pregnant six months later....I just knew he was the one! We married 1.5 years later so its been a hectic whirlwind of craziness but I wouldnt change anything. Having quite a large age gap between the boys I initially thought it would be tough but they are so close its very sweet Smile

lucyfluff · 16/01/2014 19:19

Now I want dairylea dunkers......

Secretlypregnant · 16/01/2014 19:20

Sorry to hear that, science. Have you tried finding the pressure points at the back of your neck? Sometimes works for me.

sparkle1981 · 16/01/2014 19:28

Hi everyone,

Ive been waiting for my scan before believing everything is real and I'm not just imagining this baby) but alls good so can i join this thread.

Im 32, a teacher and this is our second baby. I'm due around the 5th of August i think (my birthday).

Ive had really bad morning sickness like a lot of you seem to have had, just hope it doesn't last much longer!

Feelingfatty · 16/01/2014 19:37

Oh god sciencegirl sorry if you got it off my recommendation :( I have sensitive skin but always been fine on me, stingy (like when you apply vapor run) but fine! Maybe it's your extra sensitive skin in pregnancy!

WeeJo08 · 16/01/2014 19:47

Science I had the same thing with 4head, it didn't help me & really aggravated my skin Hmm I have v sensitive skin too.

Well, today I have mostly ate the Pick n Mix sweets I couldn't eat last night. Absolute CRAP! Well, at least I won't have any left to eat tomorrow!! Grin

babyspice2501 · 16/01/2014 20:04

Happy birthday for tomorrow shak!

Lol lucyfluff, dairylea dunkers are so good to have in the fridge when you need a snack!

Also lucy my storeys abit like yours but maybe more colourful lol! I was pregnant when I was 18 with ds and the dad was never around even for pregnancy, when I was 24/25 I thought I had met t
'The one' he was charming and had a good job, so did I (I worked on the westend musicals) and we decided to have dd asap as I didnt want the age gap to be too big if we could help it but during pregnancy he started treating me like crap once I lost my independence and left my job. He gambled all our money and was constantly drunk! I couldnt believe the change in him! So I left. And met my gorgeous fiance when I was 28 I turn 30 next week! Eek! And we are soul mates. Ive never met anyone as lovely as him and has been my rock through this pregnancy! I still wake up and cant believe im lucky enough to say his mine :)

But because its going to be the 3rd time with a 3rd partner im so nervous to tell my family we are having a baby. Im dreading it infact! My sister knows and is actually over the moon because she also loves my oh! Lol! She thinks his lovely but abit worried about my older sister, mum and dad. They might be abit angry with me im not sure?

LH1981 · 16/01/2014 20:06

Still just lurking a bit ladies - just wanted to add, sucking on a slice of raw lemon works a treat for nausea. It cuts the gag reflex and settles the stomach xx

Tc80 · 16/01/2014 20:12

I have a 15 year old stepson - our baby due on his bday :) not sure how he will take the news but hoping he will be pleased. I'm just cooking rice to eat with lots of soy sauce and cold baked beans. I'm not sure if I even want it. Puked on the bedroom carpet this morning just unexpectedly - hubbie just laughed!

CountdownBegins · 16/01/2014 20:24

Happy 40th for tomorrow Shak!!

I think everyone has such different views of how old and 'older mum' is- When we told my DPs family that we are expecting they all said 'about time!' As all his other siblings had kids in their early 20s so to them we have left it late, some of our friends are expecting babies soon so I see it as a perfect time if that exists. I always imagined I'd be 28+ when I had my first and that's how it's worked out! But if it had taken longer I wouldn't have thought anything of being older than I am now and having a baby.

I sent DP out to get that liquid lactulose lucy what is the specific name? If he can't find the right one he will end up buying every type they sell so probably best to give him specifics! Thanks in advance

babyspice2501 · 16/01/2014 20:24

Lol tc! That is funny! I asked my oh what he would do if I just puked randomly somewhere and he said if you werent pg then I would laugh but because your pg I would look after you and feel sorry for you! Lol! I think he would laugh though as he laughs when I get angry for no reason as he knows its my hormones and then we both end up laughing together! Lol!

babyspice2501 · 16/01/2014 20:29

Can I just mention mini milks! Yummy! Not healthy but I dont care! Lol

HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 20:35

Countdown, he needs to go to the chemist counter and just ask for lactulose.

Happy birthday for tomorrow, Shak. You'll be an even more advanced maternal age! :-)

WeeJo08 · 16/01/2014 20:38

Okay so it seems my body didn't like the Pick n Mix after all given the quick sprint to the loo I just had to make Confused "What's that you say, Mr Intestine? Stop feeding you crap? Okay then, spoilsport." Hmm

Talking to my intestines. This might be a new low. Grin

Tc80 · 16/01/2014 20:39

The other day I managed to puke whilst having a wee - tried to hold it in but ended up with sick all over my face by holding my hand over my mouth - so nothing surprises me at the moment! Have to laugh really!

CountdownBegins · 16/01/2014 20:39

Thanks Hungry
