Thanks - glad you're booking appointment went ok. I've got mine tomorrow morning. I'm just expecting to go through the same old checklist and have my blood taken. Then I expect that'll be it until after a successful 12 week scan.

I'm really ready to tell everyone now- next fri can't come soon enough!

sciencegeek, midwife means 'with woman', it comes from old English so it can work for a man or a woman.

About the birth month, my older two have November and December birthdays so we thought we'd played it safe - nice place towards the older end but not the oldest. However, we ended up moving a lot and in New York, they have a 31st December cut-off. That was a real problem for my two as they would either have to skip a year or be more than a year older than some of the children. When I spoke to the board of education, they told me that my older one could stay in the grade she was coming from but my younger one, who is mid-December, would have to skip kindergarten (which is actually Year 1 - she'd just finished reception when we moved) and go straight into 1st grade! So you never know where the month of birth could end you up if you end up moving between systems :)

hi all - great idea on the stats, I've not yet had a dating scan and my midwife put me at 31 Jul going from LMP, whereas I reckon it'll be 5 aug (taking my long cycles into account), so am sticking with my assumption and will wait for all to be revealed at scan. EEEK!

Had a really good productive day...the first since I got my BFP I think!!! And tonight DH and I are having a date night - meal out & then movie DD is sleeping over at Mum's.
