Well... we're getting there at least, and definitely ready to meet the first thread baby!

Oh Littleen so sorry to hear about your mum. Sending lots of hugs and Thanks

gnittinggnome · 17/01/2014 23:17

Littleen sorry for your loss! Thanks Try not to worry about what might happen - you may be a-ok without a section and be bouncing around the next day with your wonderful little one. Easy to say though, I know. Lots of un-MN hugs.

Littleen · 18/01/2014 02:28

Thanks guys

Shropshiremummy2B · 18/01/2014 03:17

Littleen I'm so so sorry for your loss, can't imagine what you're going through but am thinking of you x

jazzcat28 · 18/01/2014 04:49

littleen sorry for your loss Flowers

Can't believe we have four thread babies already! Team blue need to get a wiggle on though, the girls are steaming ahead!

Insomnia strikes for me... Not helped by the heavy aching feeling I've got in my fanjo area. Hoping its baby in my pelvis having magically flipped from breech. Have mw appt weds so fingers crossed. And

jazzcat28 · 18/01/2014 04:52

Posted too soon... Absolutely cannot go into labour until Monday at the earliest as DH away at a work conference all weekend 5hrs away!

Have my baby shower this afternoon which looking forward to. Finished work yesterday which felt strange but so good at the same time!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend ahead and looking forward to news of more squishy babies!

Morien · 18/01/2014 05:19

Littleen, I'm so sorry about your mum Thanks

I get the hard tummy thing too - isn't it a strange feeling? My gynae told me the other day that yes, it's BH, nothing to worry about, nothing you can do, and just to see it as a sign that your body's doing what it should.

Thingymajigs · 18/01/2014 05:21

I have just seen your post on FB, I'm so sorry for your loss littleen. As for the hard bump I find I get it a lot in the evenings. They are getting so strong now that my bump goes solid. It does seem worse when I'm dehydrated or feel stressed so I imagine you might be feeling them stronger today. Take good care of yourself and bump littleen, I'll be thinking of you. Thanks x

Enjoy your shower jazz and hope you managed to get back to sleep.

I am now banished (by myself) to the sofa. DP came home from work yesterday looking awful from broken sleep. He is a man who needs a full 8 hours minimum whereas I'm used to sleep issues. I'm not sure how this will work when baby is born. I guess since I'll be breastfeeding I might as well let DP sleep through as much as possible but I'm not sure if this will build resentment from my end. I guess we just see how it goes really.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 18/01/2014 07:29

Littleen I am so sorry to hear about your mum. Thinking of you.

Thingy, I'm doing the same with my DH re sleep. He has to keep our 2 businesses going, and I'm counting on him to be cheerful and consistent for DS while I know I will be sleep deprived and therefore probably grumpy and down at times. So preserving his sleep is one of my priorities this time, which is why I'm sleeping in with the baby until she's more or less sleeping through.

I did feel resentful at times last time, but I'm hoping the above reasons will prevent that this time because he really does have a lot to keep going for me while I'm on mat leave.

Artisticme · 18/01/2014 09:52

Aw littleen I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. I really hope your ok. thingy is right that they are probably a bit more intense if your stressed. Sending lots of hugs.

jazz hope you have an amazing time at your baby shower!! Mine and my sisters shower is today aswell:) actually slightly nervous for what's to come!! Our friend that has organised it has based it on Kim kardashian baby shower and apparently gone way overboard haha.

Just found out that my OH is now coming home from work on the 24th of jan rather than the 7th of feb which is great news but means that he will have to go back to work again on the 26th of feb so really hoping I don't go over my EDD or 1. He will have next to no time with baby as 2. I won't have him here to help!
What's everyone's best tips for baby evacuation plan?:) haha

glitterhoops · 18/01/2014 10:04

Sorry to hear about your mum littleen, such sad needs and especially at this time. I can not imagine what you must be feeling x

Re hard bump, I have a hard bump in the eve which is uncomfortable, but it's not BH . I know the difference as I had lots of BH last time. I think it's just baby in a very deep sleep.

rueyrichardson · 18/01/2014 10:32

So sorry for our loss Littleen. Take care of yourself and don't stress about looking after the baby when he arrives. We will all be taking things one step at a time, irrespective of who's around to "help". Hugs xx

Julietee · 18/01/2014 10:39

I'm so sorry about your mum Littleen. I hope any arrangements that have to be made go easily.

I ordered a bed wedge (the kind that you put at the head of the bed and it elevates you on a slope) that was delivered yesterday and managed to get some proper sleep for the first time in a while! Hope it's not a fluke.

Julietee · 18/01/2014 10:40

Also - can I have your opinions please?

I've had a cold since, um, probably tuesday.
We've got the longest NCT session tomorrow (it's 4 hours).
I want to go because it was a lot of money and I want to learn whatever's being covered. But I don't want all the other preggos to hate me for bringing my germ head to the session.

What would you do?

EeyoreIsh · 18/01/2014 11:17

Have you called the nct lady to see if they have another similar session running shortly that you can go to instead?

If you've had the cold since Tuesday you're probably not infectious. Could you go but sit away from others, be really careful about coughing into a tissue and cleaning your hands?

Julietee · 18/01/2014 11:23

Eeyore Yeah, I'd be very careful (even so I know I'd be grumpy if someone turned up with cold around me! I try very hard not to catch them. Which obviously worked out really well). Not a coughy cold but rather streamy in the eyes/ nose atm.

Julietee · 18/01/2014 11:26

NHS site says I'm contagious til symptoms disappear. Damn.

EeyoreIsh · 18/01/2014 12:10

Oh Sad I hope then that it miraculously clears overnight then....

EeyoreIsh · 18/01/2014 12:57

My nesting instinct has come back with a vengeance. I've scrubbed every millimetre of the bathroom, and most worryingly, I've mopped the floors and I want to do it again as it smells so good and clean Grin

I may even clean the fridge after lunch, finally!

gnittinggnome · 18/01/2014 13:32

Balls. Just felt what can only be a small haemorrhoid whilst in the shower. Decided to take a look with a hand mirror, it turns out that I've probably got some varicose veins in my nether regions as well. No pain, no bleeding, a little more constipated than I'd like to be, but been having a poo at least once a day...

The question is, do I call my GP and hope to see her before I pop? Or carry on, eat all the prunes, drink all the water and hope like hell they don't get any worse? Or just head to Boots right now and get some Anusol and Lactulose and self-medicate? I'm due in a week, and will be induced the day after, and have a feeling (possibly just a hope) that Bean will arrive before then, so wait it out or charge straight in for medical advice? Plus not taking the blasted bloody rotten iron supplements.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 18/01/2014 13:35

Gnitting. As it's small and not painful if say get to boots and self medicate. You'll be fine.

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 18/01/2014 13:42

Eeyore I keep telling myself to clean my fridge but I can't face the smell Envy you are welcome to do mine since you enjoy nesting so much?....

EeyoreIsh · 18/01/2014 14:10

I don't enjoy it Emma, it's more that my body has been taken over! Grin

Littleen · 18/01/2014 14:24

jazz and artistic enjoy your babyshowers!

I am dreading the sleep deprivation, I don't function well without my sleep at all! Will just have to nap whenever baby naps and hope for the best. Want to BF so no point my other half getting up in the night, seeing he has no boobs!

ruey thanks for the reassuring words :) I mean, lots of single mums manage it, and I'm only on my own until 4 o'clock anyway, when my OH comes back!

Julietee I'd go anyway :P They can catch germs anywhere, they don't need to sit in your face!

gnitting Boots for sure :)

Thanks for the kind words, I am about to go see my dad now and help arrange for a funeral next week. Never lost anyone close before so not sure what to expect if that makes sense. Just taking one day at a time :)
