BEE that is rubbish being stuck at home!

I find the name meeting hilarious! I think I have a bit more work to do on girls' names as DH desperately wants a name that would have same initial as me. I am not keen on that confusion as my DSis and DDad share an initial!

I am grumpy with DH. He has been on at me since I got home to be more sociable. I have had to bath DD and entertain my parents all week while he works late and goes socialising so I was enjoying an hour chilling before dinner. Two glasses of wine later and he is in a grump because I am always miserable at the moment. I give up.

wispaxmas · 10/01/2014 20:36

Bee! That sounds horrible, you've got to get back out into the world? How are you feeling these days? Is there anything you could do?

ohcluttergotme · 10/01/2014 20:39

Drama sorry your feeling so rough. Hope your nights going ok.
Redcliff that's brilliant, love the thought of a name meeting.
My ds (4) is convinced this baby is a boy and he wants to call him Filip :)

ohcluttergotme · 10/01/2014 20:42

Bee are you going to back to work soon on reduced hours at the part of your post that is less physically demanding. Hopefully this will help you to start feeling normal and back into swing of things.
If I've completely muddled you up sorry and hope you feel better soon Thanks

Liquidambar · 10/01/2014 20:53

ohclutter that is a nice name.
Ds decided he is having a brother and it will be: "Underpants Elliott"! he refuses any other suggestions. we might be in trouble Wink

red how was the meeting?

BEEwitched · 10/01/2014 20:57

Love the idea of an official naming meeting...

clutter I have to wait until my GP appointment on Wednesday to see what he says, but work knows that I'd like to come back until the beginning of April on reduced hours and HR has been informed, so hopefully that'll be a possibility!

We're looking at prams tomorrow and I'll go in to have a wee chat with my manager just to catch up - they implemented new software and I missed the training so I definitely want to be up to date before disappearing on ML!

ohcluttergotme · 10/01/2014 21:11

Aw hope it all works out ok Bumble. I was maybe muddling you up with someone else who was off sick and said they had 2 bases, one more physically demanding.
Sometimes being off for too long can bring you down a bit and good to get routine and normality back. Hope your GP happy for you to go back if that's what you want

ohcluttergotme · 10/01/2014 21:12

Sorry meant "Beewitched" not "bumble" my few brain cells stop working about now!

MarlenaGru · 10/01/2014 21:14

Lol liquid "pants" for short?

Liquidambar · 10/01/2014 21:17

lol Marlena ! "Pants" Grin
I hope he will change his mind soon

BEEwitched · 10/01/2014 21:20

Nope, that was me! One location is a sleepy community library, the other one the biggest & busiest library in the area - I'm not up to shlepping a few hundred books each day!

liquid Does he like the Cpt. Underpants books, by any chance... Hmm

wispaxmas · 10/01/2014 21:20

Marlena, liquid, I can just see it. Liquid, your son will introduce his little brother with, "he's pants!"

Liquidambar · 10/01/2014 21:27

Wispa Grin I have to stop laughing!

Bee I think the "underpants" come from a book called "aliens love underpants" and "Elliott" is one of his best friends from nursery.
Also, have you changed GPs? I hope this one is nicer and will help you a bit more

MarlenaGru · 10/01/2014 21:33

Grin wispa

BEEwitched · 10/01/2014 21:39

Oooh, I love 'Aliens Love Underpants' - all in a day's work for me, that sort of thing. There's a whole series of 'underpants' picture books!

CleverOl10 · 10/01/2014 22:46

My DS got the Christmas underpants book in his stocking!

mimi74 · 10/01/2014 22:47

Just found this thread! Hope it's OK to join in.
Am due on 26th June with my first baby at the age of 40 eeeeek.
Counting down the days to my 20 week scan on 7th Feb, dying to know if it's a boy or a girl.
Nice to find so many others due the same time.

wispaxmas · 10/01/2014 22:55

Hiya Mimi, we're a chatty bunch you'll love us! (Seriously, were on the 7th thread already?)

Redcliff · 10/01/2014 22:59

Bee - it's so hard being stuck at home. I was home only one day and the day time TV was getting to me. This meeting is very intriguing - I don't know if we will be coming up with a name or just establishing ground rules - he had told me and DP we need to be sat at the table and he will join us and if one of us is late then he will start without us ! It's so funny - I can't wait.

Redcliff · 10/01/2014 23:12

Hi Mimi and welcome. Lovely to have another new person and your not the oldest - I am 42! Hope your doing ok and not too shattered :)

ohcluttergotme · 11/01/2014 07:43

Morning all and welcome Mimi.

The house of lurgy continues on in my house. I've been ill since Christmas Day, seem to have been hit my 2 separate bugs and have now been started on antibiotics and cocodamol.
Was worried about asking paracetamol and now taking cocodamol but my goodness they are helping.

Little boy seems to have been hit by 2nd wave of bug and temp keeps spiking and he is feeling generally sorry for himself.

I've been signed off til a week on Monday and just desperate for us all to get well and back to normal.

I think I'd forgot how weak your immune system is when pregnant and I just can not fight this bug on my own.

My brother and family are living in Saudi just now and they have invited us out over Easter to stay all flights payed for but I think I'm going to say no as would be terrified my body picked up a bug it didn't recognise and I was so ill. They both said there is a thing called Saudi flu they got and it felt like they were being poisoned, doesn't sound too good at the best of times Hmm

BEEwitched · 11/01/2014 09:00

Oh clutter, that sounds horrid - I hope you get a chance to rest up, can't be easy to find the time if your son is ill, too!

I've had another bad night. DH's snoring is taking on epic frequencies and after it got so bad I must've poked him several times in my sleep because he was disturbing me he slept the night on the sofa. The cold tiny uncomfy Ikea Klippan sofa. Thankfully our nice big DFS sofa is being delivered late next week, so should it happen again he'll have a nicer emergency bed....

hackneybird · 11/01/2014 09:07

Hello mimi. Another 40 year old, here having number 2.

clutter sorry to hear you're still so poorly, what a shame at having to turn down a trip abroad to see family. I hope having a week off allows you to get some rest.

bee ,y husband is a terrible snored as well, so I wear bio ears earplugs from boots. They are excellent and am quite addicted to them now.

Also hope you're able to get back to work in a manageable way. I work from home a lot and if I do too much I get terrible cabin fever.

cjbk1 · 11/01/2014 09:26

hope you all had better sleep than I did? dc3 had an unexpected Friday in nursery as I had to cover my horrible colleague why did I do this? and she seemed all hyped by it; went to sleep ok but kept waking up and didn't even want milk, kept bring silly in our bed not settling so id return her to cot then she'd wake up again......so I'm still in bed but have to have my flu jab today or tomorrow last chance saloon so I've got to go out and drive Shock

Vickyvix · 11/01/2014 09:34

sussex I've been suffering a bit of hip pain on my left side, worse at night. I'm 17+1 so similar to you.

redcliff good luck with you name meeting, sounds like you ds is serious :) looking forward to an update on that one

Hi mimi welcome to the thread :)

clutter I hope the new medicine and time off works helps you finally shift this illness.....trip to Saudi sounds fab, but that Saudi flu doesn't
