I don't know how those of you with other kids cope, you deserve a medal! Don't know how I'd manage with it all.
Re. dogs- I'm not a dog person at all so possibly biased but I agree with the others Bumble that you're perfectly within your rights to say something (tactfully as well by the sounds of it) when your home and child are involved. If that was the reaction then maybe they are embarrassed and you've touched a nerve?
Redcliffe- my boss asked me if if there was anyone I knew who might be interested in covering me but the couple of people I thought might be interested, weren't - not sure what it says about their opinion of my job but atm I'd be inclined to agree! They've now found someone (keeping it internal and this person will be just out of contract), but they need to get a move on as we need an overlap for training and I'm planning to go on mat leave at Easter (assuming nothing happens before). I know it's awful and I will seem totally uncommitted (erm
) but I'm secretly hoping HR take ages and there's no time for overlap because, although she seems like a lovely girl, she has no real experience of what I do or of something else she'll be covering, and I really cannot be bothered going through all the training and nonsense that comes with it. Anyway, if I were you Redcliffe I'd want to be involved in the interviews if possible, after all, no-one knows you job like you do. In the end I got no say in mine but as said, I'm not really committed to it anyway.
