Ooh congrats Puggle! You have also reminded me I love that name! Birth sounds amazing!

We really need a new arrivals thread or post or something to keep track of all these gorgeous new babies!!

enormouse · 27/12/2013 18:28

Oh congratulations puggle how lovely. Smile
And to another. Good to hear that you should be on your way home.
humpty I did throw something. A few things actually. It worked. Smile

I rang up the midwives and its sciatica. Basically, baby has moved and is trapping a nerve. Not much I can actually do in terms of persuading bubs to get off it. MW said try getting on all fours, getting a ball (I'll be making a trip to argos like you sultana) and lying on my other side. The thought of another month like this is unbearable.

I did reach my breaking point earlier and I threatened to either move into a Travelodge near the hospital or send dp and ds to stay with his parents Blush. I was on all fours and ds thought I was being a pony and climbed onto my back. Dp thought it was hilarious and I snapped and burst into tears.

He has since looked up sciatica and is extremely embarrassed about being such a twat. He ran me a hot bath and has been getting hot water bottles and drinks for me.

Mythreeknights · 27/12/2013 18:37

Oh enormouse that sounds really shitty you poor thing Brew

pugglehuge congratulations!!! What a lovely and reassuring birth story. I agree we need a January arrivals board.

Well we took ds1&2 sledging in an indoor snow dome today ( I watched and drank hot chocolate) and they loved it. Planning on ice skating tomorrow. Feeling v chilled and pleased mat leave coincides with Xmas holidays.

Any news from sarah or curly?

Toothfairy78 · 27/12/2013 18:56

Evening all,

Oooooh, congratulations puggle! Lovely name too! And you sound like you dealt with it all very calmly too.

Hooray! For another going home!

Boo hiss to niggles and back pain!

We went out to order sofas for our front room today and while we were out another of our NCT group had sprogged! Very pleased for her but the babies are all being born in a very shuffled up order Grin

We had words with ToothJr just to let them know they can come out when they feel like it, we're ready now!

Might have to join the pineapple club at this rate...

Sultanajo · 27/12/2013 19:01

Meant to say earlier frying you sound in complete agony! It must mean you aren't far off hopefully!

enormouse sciatica is a biatch! Glad your OH has finally seen the light and is helping you now rather than hindering!!!

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 19:24

My back still is hurting. It's like waves from my right to my middle. My bump is so tight! I'm going to bed early tonight. If tonight is the night then when i waken ill be still hurting

Toothfairy78 · 27/12/2013 19:25

May the force be with you frying!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/12/2013 19:40

Frying I hope tonight is the night, and you're not in pain for nothing!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/12/2013 19:44

Enormouse, well done on the throwing things. Nowt like a bit of preggo rage to sort out dumb OHs.
That said, mine is being a total sweetie. He keeps making nests for me on the sofa and turning down the lights to make me produce oxytocin! He asked me last night 'woman, where's my baby, I want it now!' which made me laugh a lot, bless his soppy heart.

Sultanajo · 27/12/2013 20:22

frying hope tonights the night!!! Come on baby frying!

Humpty aw that's so cute!!!! DH keeps asking "is he here yet?" and then two seconds after I have said no, he will say "how about now?" which is making me giggle a lot! The itchy pile however is not!

I cant believe within the next few weeks everything will change....will have a little person to take care of and will no longer be preggers! Its weird and surreal!

sarahleanne · 27/12/2013 20:50

Congratulations puggle and I'm glad you enjoyed the birth and it all went well.

frying keeping my fingers crossed your next.

Well I had midwife today and had protein again but my bp was still borderline high so I refused to be sent to the hospital again, wait there for 6 hours to be sent home again. The midwife has said I must go back to see her on Sunday morning.

Can anyone reassure me on this... The midwife felt my bump today and said I seem to have a lot of amniotic fluid and asked me if for this reason the hospital have offered me another scan. They havn't.
I didn't think much of it at the time but when I got home I decided to stupidly google what it could mean and it came up saying it can be a sign of genetic disorders, Down syndrome, cleft palate etc. Now of course I'm worrying because I refused all the screening tests at the beginning .

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas :)

MrsVDB · 27/12/2013 22:03

Congratulations puggle sounds like a lovely birth :)

Vassia · 27/12/2013 22:40

Hi everyone, long time lurker (I sound like such a creep!) pregnant with 2nd, section booked for the 10th.

Just wanted to let sarah know I had polyhydramnios the last time I was pregnant, discovered at my last midwife appointment the day before I was due (which was ridiculous as I was huge and had been for weeks). I ended up having a section as my baby was an unstable lie and there was a risk of cord prolapse. We googled too and saw that polyhydramnios could potentially mean there was something wrong with the baby but he was absolutely fine. Most of the time they don't know what causes it and your baby is perfect. Mine came out at 9lb 13oz and ate like a horse! Try not to worry.

sarahleanne · 27/12/2013 22:54

vassia thank you so much for posting, I feel much more reassured now. I am seeing a different midwife on Sunday so I am going to ask for a second opinion and if she agrees then I'm going to ask for a scan for reassurance. I should have asked more questions today really . Thanks so much and you don't sound like a creep haha :)

Felix90 · 27/12/2013 23:28

Congrats puggle! Birth sounds great Smile I am still doing the 'oh my god she's mine' gaze 5 days later! It feels so surreal.

Took Sylvie to the baby clinic today and she's gained weight which is good. Still persevering with BF and getting on better now my milk has come in. Bought a breast pump today too which is an odd experience! She also slept a lot better last night. I'm gutted because my nursing bra I got fitted for at bravissimo is too tight and it's uncomfortable and I don't know what to do! It cost me a fortune and it's the only nursing bra I've managed to get so far so it's not like I can't wear it Hmm I'm sure it's making my breasts a bit more sore than they should be.

Sorry not been able to post much as it's so hectic here but hoping more babies make appearances soon.

TobyLerone · 28/12/2013 06:14

Is it too tight in the cups or the band, felix?

If it's the cups, they'll probably fit in a couple of weeks when your supply settles a bit.

If it's the band, try an extender. You can get them from a haberdasher or from eBay for next to nothing.

Glad to hear Sylvie's doing well :)

Sultanajo · 28/12/2013 06:56

Toby you are truly a fountain of bra knowledge!

TobyLerone · 28/12/2013 07:05

Clearly I've struggled with too many uncomfortable bras in my time :o

OP posts:
fryingpantoface · 28/12/2013 07:39

After a night of back pain and cramps, nothing has happened. Still pregnant!

Felix90 · 28/12/2013 09:17

It's a bit of both Toby! I have an extender somewhere but can't find it Confused I'll see if I can buy one today. You definitely are the bra expert!!

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 09:25

Well I've had an awful night with d&v. Really hoping it's something I ate at lunch yesterday not agreeing with me rather than a bug although my family was sick over xmas so more likely a bug Just so annoyed as we were meant to be sorting the house today and now that's not going to happen. Dh won't know what needs doing so will probably play on PlayStation all day or just watch tv. Sad

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 09:27

Felix be careful wearing a bra that doesn't fit as apparently the pressure can cause mastitis.

lovelilies · 28/12/2013 09:27

Me too frying Hmm
Never had all this stop start nonsense with dd! I was young an fit then
Has anyone made a thread with the new babies on? How many are there?

TobyLerone · 28/12/2013 09:29

I sympathise, nature. If it helps, when I had this the other week it only lasted 2am - 7am. I was knackered the next day but the worst was definitely over.

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 09:36

I'll keep my fingers crossed toby. So far only thrown up twice, once at 5 and then 9. Really hope it goes away.
