I have been awake since 6 too frying, think there is a storm coming in today.

Have been moved to postnatal ward as of midnight. Mason waking loads due to other babies crying. Hoping to get home soon as bowels are now working again. Bloody catheter is doing my head in and I can't have it out until Monday, they are so annoying!

lovelilies · 27/12/2013 08:06

Morning allSmile
Had a horrendous night, only 2 hours sleep due to painful back, contractions and background period pain. Finally fell asleep at 5.30 then woke at 7 when dp got up for work.... And it's all slowed down! Hmm
I really thought "this is it!" But alas it looks like not Confused
Going to head back to bed now...

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 08:30

Oh another that's rubbish! Hopefully you'll be home soon. Have they given you a time frame?

love sounds promising! Might not be long now.

i managed to get some more sleep, but my hips feel like they are being forced apart. Also, not nice, is the two very new, very vivid, and very itchy stretch marks on my tummy. Ouch!

AnotherStitchInTime · 27/12/2013 08:56

love that sounds like it could be your turn soon. Hope you manage to get some sleep now it has all eased off.

frying glad you got more sleep. I remember having to cream my belly hourly with my first two pregnancies as I neared the end.

Now bowels have opened provided all well midwife thinks I might be able to get home today :)

Sultanajo · 27/12/2013 10:36

fly that sounds rough! Hope bubs doesn't make you wait too long!

love fingers crossed things ramp back up for you!

another ohhh really hope you get home today!!!

frying glad you got some more sleep.

Well today is officially my due date!!! No signs of anything so far, but I have been having words with him to try to explain he should seriously start thinking about making an appearance! Lol!

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 11:16

Send him an eviction notice sultana

TarkaTheOtter · 27/12/2013 11:30

Hopefully it'll happen soon sultana. I'm spending my last three days before induction having some fun with dd. That currently involves watching dh take her swimming while I sit in the leisure centre cafe as I have no swimwear that fits. Then aquarium tomorrow and maybe soft play/farm park on Sunday. No signs of anything happening with baby.

lovelilies · 27/12/2013 11:35

Another- hope you get home today, yay for poo! Grin

Frying- just Hmm

Sultana- have you been trying all the old remedies? Raspberry leaf, curry, sex, walking, bouncing etc?

Still getting the (very) infrequent contractions and shooting pains in my fanjoShock managed to grab another 2 hours though. My mum has dd and dp at work so may have to lie on sofa/ bounce on ball and watch a movie, run out of Bloody dog food though so need to go to the shop dammit! Angry

enormouse · 27/12/2013 11:52

frying lots of wind and taint here in NI too. I felt a lot of pressure down below last night and thought it was tiny mouse trying to stick his hand through my foof and wave at everyone. All I could think was please don't come in this weather. The route to the hospital has no lighting and is an hour long as it is. Luckily our driver is almost FIL (former rally driver) and his 4x4.

sultana I like the idea of an eviction notice. With ds it took the threat of an indication to get him moving.

another I found holding one of those giant mattress thick maternity pads against my stitches helped me pass my first bowel movement and then a jug of cool water poured over it with a few drops of witch hazel or arnica after. Hope you get home soon.

Can anyone reassure me? Have lots of lower back pain and pain in my left leg and hips. Last night I ended up limping home from almost PILs? It's been coming on for a week or so.

Is this a trapped nerve or spd? Or is it related to the baby?
I'm a bit reluctant to call the midwife as the last few times I've done this (for anaemia or this pain) I've gotten it's completely normal, your pregnant, your body's telling you to take it easy etc etc.

At present I am sofa bound again and I'm getting annoyed that I can't put lunch on, the laundry out, or play with DS. Dp has been playing fucking tomb raider for the last 3 days (a present to himself) and I want to throw things at his head as he's not fucking doing anything else.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/12/2013 12:14

mouse Do it, throw anything that's to hand at his head! I hate it when DH gets into a new game, he becomes oblivious to the world.

frying yuk. Fybogel? Sounds so irritating. I reckon my intestines are flat or constricted at least, I sometimes have to have three poos to get it all out! Niiiiice...

love sounds potentially promising...

Well, somehow I seem to have a chest infection. Scratchy, painful chest and throat, chesty cough, slight temperature. Just what I wanted for Christmas, thank you whichever fuckwit gave it to me. Angry

Bluecarrot · 27/12/2013 12:45

Afternoon :)

Woke up with stinking cold! Thought my current addiction to oranges might have helped prevent it but oh well!

I'm due in 9 days and had started on the pineapple, (mild) curry, sex and nipple stimulation. Def getting lots of belly tightenings but baby still shifting about a lot to the point I'm not actually sure what way she is now! So easing off the encouragement til I see midwife on Monday and I'm being offered a sweep anyway.

Got a new fridge freezer in the sales yesterday so now I have more than 1.5 teeny freezer drawers Im planning to batch cook a bit... Only problem is carpal tunnel /fluid retention means I can neither fully open or close my hands...DP had to cut up my Xmas dinner for me! So lots of food prep will be a family affair I think. Which I'll look forward to

Hope everyone safe from the storm today

Sultanajo · 27/12/2013 13:12

humpty I am the same with regard to motions....

Chest infections and colds royally suck!!! Poor you ladies!

enormouse hmmm.... Am not sure what is causing your leg issues.... Sorry I cant reassure you....

Am trying most things - have eaten 5 whole pineapples in the last week. Forcing myself to walk, but long walks are out as everything seizes up so quickly! Am off to Argos to collect my gym ball and am gonna bounce around on that this afternoon.... Cant face sex currently, but that may change in a few days! I honestly think though this monkey is only gonna come out either when he is good and ready or when he is forced out!!! Having lots of BHs but bubs is quieter than normal, so got the Doppler out and tried all the drinking cold drinks etc. Have since felt a few wriggles, but I think cos of the BH I am probably missing wriggles. So annoying!

Bluecarrot · 27/12/2013 13:28

If baby's head is engaged it won't be able to love as much though, would it?!

AnotherStitchInTime · 27/12/2013 13:47

sultana you don't have long now either way another 2 weeks then they can induce you if you want. Babies come went they want ime.

blue and humpty hope you feel better soon. Try soluble vitamin c, that stuff is great for colds (and bowel movements). Ginger tea also good with honey and lemon.

enormouse seriously remove the fuse, your dp needs to get his priorities sorted and quick.

Going home this afternoon yay Grin just waiting on final bloods to be ok (just precaution) and baby to be weighed and that is it!

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 15:29

Congratulations Another! It'll be lovely to go home

Frizz1986 · 27/12/2013 16:04

Excellent news another

Swannykazoo · 27/12/2013 16:27

Hi all!
Hugh took me by surprise by arriving on Sun 38+1 at 71b 12. Thought waters had maybe gone a wee bit about 9pm so phoned after the Strictly final but had mistaken the terrible wetness all day as pregnajuice(doh) until the midwife was quizzing me (double doh!). Antenatal ward confirmed they'd induce me the next morning as wasn't really contracting much so went home for last night in my own bed at 2am
Massive hind water gush at 3:30am. Toughed out proper contractions, and then the vom till 7am as husband v annoyed about my request to go home in the first place.
Examined in the antenatal ward and was 6cm dilated, so off to labour ward for a wee amazing hour in the birthpool (couldn't stay cos of prolonged membrane rupture) and then he was born by 2:30 with just gas and air. Pretty much slept/zonked between each contraction though the crowning was a bit eye-watering.
Absolutely amazing and really really positive experience, only topped by a really amazing postnatal midwifery team that kept me sane as Hugh learnt to breastfeed.
Just got home today and have been doing the "omg he's mine" gaze. Must really do some snoozing instead.

Congrats another and anybody else who's through the other side. I haven;t had a chance to catch up yet...

Naturegirl82 · 27/12/2013 16:36

congratulations puggle sounds like you had an amazing experience, and welcome to the world hugh

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 16:36

Congratulations puggle!

i feel like I'm dying. My back is so sore at the top and the bottom. I've been lying on the floor but everytime i move my lower back protests so much.

my folks have a bet on that I'll go into labour tonight

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/12/2013 17:07

puggle congratulations! Welcome baby Hugh, sounds like you had a great experience, and can't wait to see pics!

another so glad you get to go home!

frying I bet them taking bets is really cheering you up? Wink

BookTart · 27/12/2013 17:17

Congratulations puggle - that sounds lovely!

This all sounds promising frying...

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 17:36

Humpty - would it be overkill if i kill them tonight?

I've been in a warm bath for 20 mins now and my back is still really hurting.

chocoloulou34 · 27/12/2013 17:44

Ah congratulations puggle sounds like a nice birth . Glad ur both home and doing well. Cant wait for that part I remember it well even if it has been 6 and a half years lol.

Still a stressy house here! Managed to sort most of the girls toys 2day and clear the room so they can actually get in there and play!! Step sons/ baby room is another matter. Cant even get into it. So much to do my head wants to explode. With 3 kids a partner that works nights and constant pain im struggling to find enough time in day for normal day to day stuff let alone going the other stuff. Me and oh keep arguing. Sometimes hes just too laid back and his answer for everything is stop stressing and dont worry about it. Ah yes ibsuppose the cleaning and sorting fairies will come 2nite and do it all!!! Grrr. Am 39 weeks 2moro of course im bloody stressing! The end...

TobyLerone · 27/12/2013 18:16

Congratulations, puggle! Well done :)
How come you had to stay in hospital so long?

OP posts:
Sultanajo · 27/12/2013 18:20

another yay for finally going home!!! Hurray!

puggle huge congratulations on the amazing birth of Hugh! Loving the fact you waited til after the Strictly final! Lol!

Well bubs started wriggling properly at 2pm and is still going strong now! Little monkey stressing me out this morning! Got a gym ball so will have a bounce on that tomorrow once DH has inflated it for me..... Still need to do some grooming but that's gonna have to wait til tomorrow.....

Deep breaths choco!
