I know nature, I think it's making me a bit sore already Hmm I keep massaging in the hope it will help! Fingers crossed I can get an extender and all will be well!

fryingpantoface · 28/12/2013 10:03

I've just taken all the decorations and the tree down, and hoovered and cleaned everywhere. Feeling much happier! I didn't recognise my house with all the Christmas stuff. I couldn't relax properly either.

back is still hurting on and off but I'm taking it easy for the rest of the day

Toothfairy78 · 28/12/2013 10:52

Argh! I have a bladder the size of a pixie's thimble! Seriously, I've been up and down bursting for a wee umpteen times last night only to get a tiny little splish each time!

DH had a chat with ToothJr to encourage them out and has brought me a cuppa to coax me out of bed for car shopping today. Not sure if I can cope with the cup of tea :(

Sultanajo · 28/12/2013 10:53

frying poor you but glad you are feeling better after a tidy up! Our tree is coming down today too. A little sad about it for some random reason, but as the Moses basket will be going where the tree is, I don't wanna leave it up much longer....

nature as toby says, hopefully its something like norovirus which thankfully goes almost as quickly as it came. I too only threw up twice when I had it a few weeks back, but then I felt wiped out for about three days....

flyawayblue · 28/12/2013 11:25

Congratulations puggle birth sounds great.

Hope all those that had a bad night feel better during the day or at least get a chance to relax a bit.

We don't generally take the tree down until the 12 night but then we only put it up late on the 23rd. Still liking the Christmas feel to the loving room and as baby is due after Christmas it's a good bit of avoidance Wink

nature glad she is doing well though not so good about the nursing bra, that's my worry as I really need to go to bravissimo 28h to start so kinda scared what I'll be with milk! Hope you find your extender as being in pain due to the bra isn't good.

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/12/2013 11:50

Congratulations puggle so glad you had a good experience and they were supportive of you breastfeeding. Do try to rest, although I can reassure you that when I had my first one I spent hours just watching her too Grin.

nature I hope you feel better soon x

choco if my recent experience has taught me anything, it is that it will all be ok even if you are not as organised or if the house isn't as tidy as you would like.

felix great that Sylvie is doing so well, the milk will settle down, could you get a couple in a cup size up to see you through?

enormouse hope your sciatica has eased a bit today and your DP has stepped up and stopped being so self absorbed. When I read about how he had laughed I just wanted to throw things at him too Angry

sarahleanne I had polyhydramnios, that is why they delivered me early (higher risk of going into labour early). They did extra GTT test with me, plus tests for viruses and checked baby's stomach, but it was just because he was big for dates and peed more than the average size baby!

Oh frying and lovelillies it won't be long now, stop/start must be tiring and frustrating.

So I am back at home :)

House is chaos as DH has been managing single handed for the last two months. Plus he was not here for Christmas and then dd2 has been very ill. He is surviving on 2-3 hours sleep a night, due to her coughing. Luckily anti-B's are kicking in now so she is improving. I thought I would be stressed out by it all, but I am just happy to be alive and well enough to be home with my family after all we have gone through. Going to feast on pancakes in bed and enjoy cuddles with my kids. Life is too short to stress about the cleaning Grin

chocoloulou34 · 28/12/2013 13:14

Morning all. Boo hiss to tight bra's. D & v and evil bladders. Oh dear frying, u must be getting so frustrated. Hope it happens for you soon. Well my stress turned into a full on meltdown yesterday. Gonna blame the old hormones. Rly made myself ill what a silly woman. No more stressing for me...

fryingpantoface · 28/12/2013 13:39

Sometimes you just have to have a meltdown.

ds is napping and I'm watching Death Comes to Pemberley which is disappointing to be honest.

Toothfairy78 · 28/12/2013 14:01

Hey all. Just attempted to go out car shopping but turned back to go home...

Appear to have a little bit of tinged mucus, period cramps and contractions that now radiate discomfort down to my nethers and my back. Not sure if serious yet but not in the mood for car shopping right now!

DH is getting twitchy. I'm 39+1 today...

fryingpantoface · 28/12/2013 14:25

Oo tooth! This could be it!

MrsRApilot · 28/12/2013 15:11

Thank you ladies Smile Still not great and can no longer actually walk without being basically carried by DH. I phoned the midwife who told me not to go out and to be careful climbing the stairs Hmm. She had clearly ignored the fact that I told her I had to be carried up the stairs. Confused
But anyway... 5 days to go!

Oooooh tooth this could be it. So excited to hear about more squishy babies being born Grin

Angelesque · 28/12/2013 15:21

Ooh Tooth that sounds v promising!

Just been sales shopping... Bought loads from Mamas and Papas (only in the sale!!!). 50% off Dreampods so thought we'd give one of them a go. Also bought in the less glam items from Boots... Maternity pads, breast pads... Hawt. All so I can pack my hospital bag tomorrow - at nearly 36 weeks decided I should crack on! Blush

Sultanajo · 28/12/2013 16:15

mrsRA that must be so frustrating for you! So glad you have less than a week to go! Hurray!

Tooth ekkk! It could be you next!

Well our tree is down, cards recycled and its as though Xmas never happened. A little sad but feel its the right thing as can now concentrate on bubs arriving! Will bring the Moses basket downstairs and then continue bouncing on my ball that DH inflated for me this morning.

Am getting tons of "any news?" texts. Its lovely so many people care enough to ask, but am finding them a tad annoying now! Am getting really nervous about the birth now and my way of coping is generally to bury my head in the sand and forget about things and only think about them when I am having a brave moment, but the million of texts haven't meet me do that.

fryingpantoface · 28/12/2013 16:28

I'm getting fed up of the "any news" messages. I've not told people any of the information on her, about on off contractions/ going to hospital etc, but people are so nosy. That's without mentioning people i vaguely know trying to add me on Facebook so they can nose

Frizz1986 · 28/12/2013 16:45

Ooooo tooth fx that this could be it.

another glad you are home and who cares about the housework after what you've been through. Its the one time you dont need to feel bapd about jot doing it.

mrsra glad you havent got long to go. Countdown commemce....

sultana try not to get nervous about the birth. If I can do it then anyone can (that is a fact) I am such a wimp and a worrier and I made it out the other side and you get something so awesome at the end.

Well slowly starting to feel a bit better today with the stitches etc. just feeling more confident and relaxed about it all i think.

Midwife came today though and Aurelia has lost 12% of her body weight Sad and ive been trying really hard but sometimes she just isnt bothered about feeding. Well cue a heel prick test as she has slight jaundice and midwife was worried what with the higher weight loss too. If results were high for the jaundice we would have to go to hospital for 48hrs for light therapy but thankfully she is below the threshold.
Was in tears when midwife said about poss hospital stay as dont want to be back in hospital and my family are coming tomorrow to meet Aurelia. And after last weekends family visit (which was not how i wanted due to what i now know was early labour) i was looking forward to this one and was so upset it could be messed up again.
Thankfully we just need Aurelia to put on weight for extra midwife visit tomorrow.

Sultanajo · 28/12/2013 16:58

frying glad its not just me. Not giving away info about when having sweeps etc or that will just fuel them!

Thanks frizz! Think it was just being on labour ward this week for my midwife appointment that suddenly made me super nervous and freak out! Wish I was brave enough to home birth as am sure I would be more relaxed at home, but I really want to be at the hospital in case something were to go wrong.

That must have been so demoralising frizz when the suggestion of going back to hospital was mentioned! So pleased the jaundice test was under the threshold. Has she given you extra advice on getting little un to gain weight?

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 17:07

Well I've just made it downstairs for the first time today. Dh has been great done loads of tidying and sorting for me. He also just made me some homemade soup. Hopefully I keep it down. Just feel totally wiped out.

Frizz fx Aurelia's weight picks up.

Sultana try to ignore the messages. People mean well but it does add extra pressure.

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 17:08

MrsRA hope the next 5 days pass quickly for you.

lovelilies · 28/12/2013 17:08

I'm sure 12% isn't much frizz, as far as I can remember dd dropped well below 6lb (6,6 at birth) and they weren't in the slightest concerned. Smile
Just keep feeding on demand, she'll soon put it back on. My mistake in the early days was swapping boobs to soon so dd only got the fore milk, not the calorific hind milk HTH

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2013 17:09

Another glad you are home and getting settled.

Good luck tooth if this is it for you Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/12/2013 17:14

another glad you are home! and that your DH has managed in your absence.

tooth ooh! exciting! How are you feeling? Hope not too uncomfortable.

frizz bless you, you sound like you're doing fabulously well, and I'm sure Aurelia will put on weight, if feeding is getting easier.

Went to visit birth centre today, and be 'risk assessed' for going there to deliver. I SO want to go there now, it's gorgeous, and I just know it would be an awesome place to give birth. Walked there (just over a mile), and by the time we got there, my bump had dropped. Also had a few period aches, so I think I might be starting to gear up, which is ace (am 39+1), and I'm feeling v reassured by seeing the place I might get to deliver. It's certainly helping distract from the FUCKING itchiness, which seems to be three evenings a week now, regardless of bio oil, moisturiser etc. Have been checked for OC, and not that, just infuriating 'sharp' itches mainly on back of thighs and bump.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/12/2013 17:15

Shit, meant to say mrsRA, hope you feel better soon.

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/12/2013 17:31

That must be agony MrsRA, glad your DH is supportive even if your midwife is clueless. Not long to go at least x

tooth, very exciting hope you get to meet toothjnr soon.

humpty the birth centre sounds lovely, hope you get to go there :)

sultana whatever kind of birth you have, the bundle of love and cuddles you get more than makes up for it. Try not to overthink and stress.

frizz sorry to hear about Aurelia's weight and slight jaundice. Have you tried changing her or stripping her off to her vest before a feed to try and wake her up a bit?

Mason is showing signs of jaundice too, he has been slightly more sleepy and feeding less often today. If it gets worse will take him to get checked by my local paediatric A&E tomorrow just to make sure.

Sultanajo · 28/12/2013 17:33

nature glad you made it downstairs. Soup sounds like a good idea! Will keep everything crossed you keep it down!

humpty omg the feckin itching!!! I too was tested for OC. Its definitely worse for me in the evenings, but weirdly it has eased off the last couple of days.... Am still moisturising bump and boobs nightly though to try and keep it at bay....
