BandontheFun · 26/12/2013 13:20

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I was knackerd all day think I may have done too much on Xmas eve. Was good not to do anything yesterday, except eat chocolate and nap!

Anyone else spend yesterday thinking, next year there will be another person here?! Exciting stuff!

Congratulations Another hope u heal quickly and get to go home soon.

Off into town to have a look at the sales, kinda wish I knew what I was having so I could buy some stuff!

Sultanajo · 26/12/2013 14:56

Good luck in the sales band! I have just got back after managing two whole shops before everything seized up and bubs felt as though he was gonna fall out (if only it was that easy) so had to come home. Did however get some sanctuary hand scrub and soap & glory hand cream which I have just slathered on, so temporarily have scale free hands! Hurray! Also managed to miss the man u match which is awesome!!!

quack hurray for a good nights sleep! Hope you enjoy a chilled day in bed watching tv!

frizz bless ya! I guess all you can do is look at your gorgeous little bubs and think "it was totally worth it". Hindsight is a fabulous thing, but you did what felt right in the moment. I am not sure if I will be able to breathe through that part without just wanting to push him out asap!

Cant remember who said their feet were swollen, but mine are too! They have gone up and down the whole pregnancy, but yesterday my right one in particular became really swollen by the end of the day and it has become a hippo foot again today! Marvellous!

curlywurlyllass · 26/12/2013 16:19

Choco hope the pain is lessened with the morphine, really feel for you

Sarahleanne have they re checked your urine since the +protein was found? Mine continued to worsen and ended up at ++++ before EMCS

extra congratulations on birth of Elizabeth, hope you are settled at home with her and enjoying the festive fun

Felix congratulations on the birth of Sylvie Beatrice, hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family

another congratulations on the birth of Mason Oliver, hope you are out of high dependency soon and have a fast recovery. Thinking of you

frizz congratulations on the birth of Aurelia Joyce, hope the light helps her jaundice and your soreness settles down asap and it doesn't stop you having some Christmas cheer

My EMCS was quite traumatic as after watching C section ladies on the ward struggle to cope I was hoping to avoid a section. I shocked the anaesthetic team as their 1st blood pressure reading was over 228/110 and was given even more fast acting blood pressure reducing medicine before they started. Section itself went well, I had uncontrollable shaking of my upper body towards the end but JAmes appeared well so was wrapped up and left with us while I was stitched. But he started breathing badly and was taken to intensive care, I saw him the next day and he progressed well and moved to high dependency after a few days then SCBU. I was discharged on 21/12/13 and taken off all blood pressure meds as they lowered well but have since returned to just below high
We spent Xmas Eve staying over at SCBU looking after James and finally brought him home on Christmas day :D
The best and only Christmas present we got for each other
So far he has been such a chilled out wee boy and he feeds well

Is everyone enjoying the sales? I would love to get out but now with James I think it's internet/online for us

Merry Christmas to all and I hope more gorgeous cute babies arrive soon

Oh and DAMN the feet/leg swelling after birth is horrendous! I had to moisturize regularly for fear of splitting the skin when I moved :( it's only just getting better now over a week later

Sultanajo · 26/12/2013 16:40

Wow curly! That's an impressive blood pressure! How fabulous you brought little James home on Christmas Day! Bet you were on such a high yesterday! Yay for him being chilled out. Glad you are OK and your leg/feet swelling is finally starting to go down....

Mythreeknights · 26/12/2013 16:40

curly you must be delighted to be home at last

I have just called triage...37 weeks today and massively reduced foetal movement (compared with yesterday which was like having a pack of monkeys inside me). Triage say baby probably has changed position but to lie on LHS for half an hour to see if I feel movement. I am doing that now and can feel movement but nothing as vigorous as yesterday or previously. Also felt last night each time I turned that I had a massive BH. Really hoping all ok. Almost looking forward to labour now just to make sure baby is ok...better out than in now.

AnotherStitchInTime · 26/12/2013 17:20

curly glad to hear you are all ok and that James are you are back home.

toby hope you are enjoying your Christmas Day with your family.

mythree sounds like baby might have gone and changed to a different position, but given the big change in movement they should monitor you just in case.

Can't remember who asked, but yes I did know about the possibility of hysterectomy and told them to do it if my blood loss was too great as I would rather have my life than my uterus. It is uncommon for praevia to need one, but I had placenta accreta/percreta (morbidly adherent placenta) which is more complicated. Still on hdu as bowel not working so no food for me. Will be making up for it when I get out of here though!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/12/2013 18:23

another congratulations on your gorgeous new arrival, and I hope you make a speedy recovery.

Merry Boxing Day everyone! Had a lovely couple of days, both sets of family behaved well, and liked their presents. I am typing on my new present, an iPad mini (also my birthday present from both DH and DF). I love it! Going to sort out my labour playlists on to it in a bit.

BandontheFun · 26/12/2013 18:34

Curly that's good news that you guys are all together now!

Mythree best to get checked out, I know exactly what you mean I kinda want the baby here just so I know it's ok, think the longer I go past my due date the more I will worry.

Sultana I did ok in the sales, most of what I bought was decorations and wrapping paper for next year, so I'm mega prepared! Got some toys for the baby on the boots sale which where all half price, also got a basket to store them in! Mobility wise I felt ok, think the baby may not be engaged any more, not really felt the pressure in my fanjo recently.

Frizz I thought you had to stay in the hospital until u did a poo....or is that just a pee?! Hopefully it's not too traumatic!

I do have a slight case of the green eyed monster for you who already have your lovely little squishy baby's!

BandontheFun · 26/12/2013 18:37

Oh and I also had my first experience of someone offering me a seat today.... A week before my due date...go figure!

Sultanajo · 26/12/2013 19:02

Better late than never band and well done on your bargains!

humpty glad all your family behaved and you had a good couple of days.

mythree my little wriggle bum has done the exact same thing to me about 5 times now! You get used to them having a party in there and then suddenly things go quiet and any movements are significantly less strong! Little monkeys! I have been in for monitoring once because of this and all was well, but very glad I went in. If the movements you are feeling aren't reassuring you then ask to go in and get checked. Its not worth leaving it.... I am totally with you! I will still mega worry once he is here, but at least you can then physically see how they are (even if it means sitting up staring at them to make sure they are ok! Wink

Frizz1986 · 26/12/2013 19:03

band no just pee. I had to have the catheter in for 12 hours and then be able produce at keast 150ml in one go. It was annoying as they misplaced sample one so i had to another. Thankfully i was a good girl when they told me keep drinking lots so i had enough pee next time

Tmi but bowel movement has happened and didn't hurt at all thanks to my medication. Its more sore cleaning up afterwards but oh well.....

another sorry you cant eat yet but you are def entitled to make up for it after.

Sultanajo · 26/12/2013 19:25

frizz phew for the bowel movement!!!

another fingers crossed your bowels sort themselves out Asap!!!

Naturegirl82 · 26/12/2013 19:41

mythree hope you get checked out to reassure you. I've had the same thing with the braxton hicks when turning over at night and then that makes me need to pee!

Frizz glad things aren't too painful

Felix we were told at our breastfeeding class that it's normal for babies to feed lots at night as they are requesting the milk for the next day so that sounds normal.

Well done to all those who have made it to the sales.

All I've done is travel home from my parents. Now settled on the sofa for a relax before a nice bath and an early night.

Toothfairy78 · 26/12/2013 20:00

Right, well Christmas is done at our house, so back on with spicy food etc.

Got fitted for nursing bra today. Had a look at boys names. Dad has decided to confer grandad's name as a Chinese middle name, though unusually it appears to have no meaning unlike everyone else's in the family. Still it's good to have something to pair some English names with now.

Discovered 3 dodgy transactions on my credit card today. Including a whopping £1155 at John Lewis which certainly was not mine! This has not stressed be out though, so no signs of labour yet. I 'm 39 weeks tomorrow!!! So we're off out tomorrow to order sofa for front room. We got ikea sofa being delivered New Year's Eve for our back room plus an amazon order on the same day, so maybe ToothJr will arrive then?

curly congratulations on the birth of baby James! Good to hear he's now OK and hopefully you'll be fully recovered soon too.

Percypiglet · 26/12/2013 20:11

Hello all,

Well done nothing much today, a bit of a walk and then rested. Really knackered after entertaining yesterday, however DH did all the cooking etc and he and my Dad washed up (oh for the luxury of a dishwasher but the two men in my life did a good job!).

Think I had first Braxton hicks on Xmas eve, felt really weird and found it quite frightening. Feel like a total numpty now as we both went into a bit of a panic. It's weird when something new happens for the first time. I kept thinking it's too early - 36 + 3 . Now going to try to focus on not stressing and panicking for the real thing!!

Hope all had a great Christmas.

fryingpantoface · 26/12/2013 21:05

Not good tooth!!

had family over, as my mom and dad were leaving they commented that the baby had visibly dropped. Here's hoping!

TarkaTheOtter · 26/12/2013 21:08

Hi everyone! We've had a lovely Christmas but tbh glad it's over and can get back to normal. Hosted eleven family members for dinner today which was fun but exhausting even though I wasn't allowed to do much.

Baby seems to have settled into a little routine of sleeping in the morning (and scaring me with lack of movements) and then being awake kicking all evening. Dd moved constantly throughout the day and night and carried that pattern on as a toddler newborn so maybe this baby will be a good sleeper .

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/12/2013 21:30

tarka mine has the same pattern. Bloody children...

frying ooh, head engaged do you think?

Mythreeknights · 26/12/2013 21:32

Hi all, just a quick update, a cold glass of water followed by lying on LHS led to some strong movements after a while (took longer than 30 mins) then had bath and baby started behaving like a pack of monkeys again. I called triage back to let them know i thought i was ok and was touched to hear the relief in the mws voice.

Perhaps I am like you tarka as afternoons and evenings are definitely more active.

Thinking of going to ikea tomorrow...are we mad??

another that was me asking about whether you knew a hysterectomy might be an outcome...glad you were warned and seem to be on the mend. I hope your bowel improves soon.

fryingpantoface · 26/12/2013 21:53

Dunno if he's engaged. Back is aching more then i thought it would!

dh is being all affectionate hoping for sex or a blow job i think. I'm all heartburny so it isn't going to happen.

tomorrow probably be going to the Trafford centre with my folks

Mythreeknights · 26/12/2013 21:54

Ha! I couldn't do either...nose is completely blocked so bj is out and fanny feels like it is falling out of me so sex is out too. Poor men!

sarahleanne · 26/12/2013 22:01

curly glad you are home now. Wow your blood pressure was mega high I hope your all ok now. They re checked and said there's no protein anymore but the nurse was certain and the surgery that there was which is why I got sent to the hospital straight away. But it's good news for me so I don't mind.

fryingpantoface · 26/12/2013 22:26

How is this fair?? Two days of truly awful diahorrea (sp) and now all i feel is the need to poo and i bloody well cant! Two days!!

flyawayblue · 26/12/2013 23:49

curly glad you are home now, sounds like a hard time but amazing to come home on Christmas.

frying that would irritate me to Smile

Glad everyone had good Christmases and it doesn't seem like there were any Christmas babies.

I'm 37+2 now and almost done, being sick every day (worse than first trimester) and now have numb patches on my belly which are really odd! No more bh's though so guess I'm here for a good while yet...

fryingpantoface · 27/12/2013 04:45

I'm awake.

woke up to go to the toilet but fierce wind (not me) and heartburn are keeping me up.

debating going downstairs and watching tv, but I'm so comfy.
